Regress (HIT ME WITH THE KITTEN BLAKE)
-meme
Blake couldn’t be called anything but a kitten, really. Her black hair was never brushed–she could never sit still long enough–and her wide, golden eyes were always full of curiosity and wonder. And on top of it all, her little kitten ears, perched high on her head, were always moving, shifting to catch every little sound and showing every emotion she ever felt–which, at the age of five, was rarely anything more than excitement or sleepiness.
Those ears perked up as the sound of footsteps reached them, and Blake lifted her head from where she’d been lying belly-down on the floor, coloring with crayons in a book her father had gifted her a few months back. She knew those footsteps well, in fact; they came around regularly. The voice that accompanied them, talking with her mother, was equally as familiar. Tossing her crayons aside, she leapt to her feet.
“Auntie Libraaaaaa!” she shrieked at the top of her lungs, and charged the white-haired human she’d come to know as “aunt” despite having no blood relation. She took a flying leap at Libra, giggling. “You’re heeeeeeeeere!!!”
