#2 statey funes - nearly put it last bc it has the worst flow but it's just such an inherently funny way to refer to the literal queen's funeral, the antithesis to the Respectful greyscale branding of all the corporate social media accounts

Richard is a Simple Victorian Man (TM) who takes shelter in a spooky castle that’s inhabited by a totally normal man who’s definitely not a vampire. Horniness and yearning ensues.

Richard took a chance, pulling open the heavy door just enough for him to slip inside. Once out of the rain, he pulled the door closed to completely shut out the poor weather. The gentle warmth of the castle was a welcome feeling even if it did make him realize just how cold he was.

He looked around the well-lit interior. It was surprisingly homey for a place with such a foreboding exterior. He walked forward, his wet boots making a rather unpleasant squelching sound as he stepped onto an ornate rug. It wasn’t too late in the evening, yet there was no immediate sign of any servants or the nobleman that lived in such a grand place.

“What are you doing in my home?” asked a deep, rich voice that carried throughout the spacious entryway.

Richard looked up. Atop a balcony overlooking the ground floor stood an aristocratic man with his hands resting on a wooden railing. He had dark slicked back hair that stood in contrast to his shockingly pale skin, and his tailored clothing only emphasized his large form.

“For--” His voice was hoarse and raspy, and Richard cleared his throat before continuing to speak. “Forgive me, good sir. I was only seeking shelter. Please allow me to wait out the storm--I’ll even sleep out in the stables if you so wish it.” He was sincerely hoping that the man wouldn’t make him go back outside, but he wouldn’t protest if he did. Beggars couldn’t be choosers after all.

The man looked down at Richard from the balcony, eyeing his soaked and shivering form that was reminiscent of a drowned cat. “There is no need for that.” said the man. Richard breathed a sigh of relief. “You are welcome to stay, but I should warn you that storms in this area can last for days. This one shows no signs to the contrary.”

4. What piece of writing are you most proud of?

God, that’s honestly impossible to answer, because I’m proud of all my pieces of writing. The old ones, the new ones, the short ones, the long ones, doesn’t matter for which fandom or what rating they are. I think about everything I write (sentence/word/punctuation, whatever) long and hard, because whatever I write matters to me at that moment and touches me and I wanna do that credit, I wanna transport what I feel and think so the reader maybe gets a hint of that as well, or maybe the intensity behind it.

When I publish something it means I cared for it all the way to the end (though not end of the story arc sadly sometimes, just end of the chapter or whatever XD). And I’m proud that I managed to condense my thoughts and feelings into that piece of writing. That just goes for all of them.

8. What mood has been most prevalent in your works this year? Ex. angst, hurt/comfort, fluff, etc.

Definitely angst, but really, it always has been. Is there a mood like angsty horniness? Cause that’s it really.

25. What were your top three most common tags this year?

Lemme look at them to confirm my suspicion.

Yep, indeed: Gay Sex, Angst (this year I had: Light Angst, Existential Angst and just Angst, look at the insane variety!) and Rough Sex. *salutes*

31. What's a recurring theme that showed up in your works?

Hmhm, damn, the word “theme” is very broad. So, maybe I’ll just answer in a broad fashion: I think a recurring theme in my works is a lack of communication and what it results in.

It always bothers me in media (movies, fics whatever) when characters could easily resolve their issues by just saying a word and they don’t, but it feels very contrived and unrealistic and was clearly just done to push the drama or the plot of whatever. Pretty lame honestly.

Also, I had a thorough look at different theories of communication, because of my field of study and my work, and at my own communication failures and those of friends. And all of that brought me to the conclusion that it’s interesting and essential to write about issues in communication. So I do. XD

Kit and Annie have monthly wine nights where they shit talk Will.

Of course they do.

Annie sticks around for a bit after dropping the kids off for the weekend and then she goes to the pub with Kit. They swap stories about all the times Will has got so into his writing that he burned everyone’s tea, or stayed up until 4am on wikipedia and got obsessed with Cleopatra’s agricultural policy for a week, and then they laugh at him for being such an enormous weirdo.

But it’s nice, because they both know that neither of them means it- and so does Will, if the combination of ridiculous insults and excellent coffee when they get back is anything to go by.
