summary: Your boyfriend is just like a cat, but he doesn't accept it. Maybe all it takes is an encounter with an anomaly to change his perception.
warnings: Miguel x Spider!Reader, apparent death of someone, fluff?
Hi guys!!! I took a break from the main series because I couldn't focus and I don't want to give you a lazy work. Besides, I also don't think I would do it justice, it is a great idea and I want to execute it right!
Anyway, I had this idea for quite some time, and I finally decided to write it. I was inspired by this tiktok and also this beautiful drawing by @sweetimpurity
Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Bonus (Part2)
Part 1
Miguel O’Hara is the definition of a cat. Not a cat person no, a literal cat
Not only his personality, but also the way some people view him. He literally seems cold, out of love, that he doesn’t care about anyone, but you know another story
Just like with a cat, you only had to understand Miguel’s love language. Obviously, first, you had to break down all the walls he built around himself, but that’s another story.
The comparison between Miguel and cat popped in your head not long after you two started dating.
That man could go from being angry, rough and asserting dominance to his employees to begging for love, asking for cuddles and resting on top of you in a span of minutes.
Besides, he probably thinks he is slick when he steals your crunches, but you notice every damn time. The worst thing is you don’t know where he hides them, you’ve searched everywhere!!
When you were a child, you’ve always wanted a cat, but you didn’t think you would be stuck with a man that acts like one. Not that you are complaining tho.
It was always tricky trying to love on him. For example, if you went up to his office and attacked him with kisses and hugs, 90% of the time he would tense up and tell you that he was working, and that he would pay attention to you later. You never took it the wrong way, you knew he was a busy man, and you were aware of what you were getting yourself into.
But that other 10%? Oh, those were dangerous. Those were the times you appeared in the precise moment were he craved love, were he craved you. Not sexually no, (I mean, obviously sometimes yes), but there were times he just needed to hold you close, cuddle you, feel your scent in his skin. Only you could calm him down.
Today was one of those days
You entered Miguel’s office with a skip on your step. You’ve always been a happy person, everyone knew that, which is why everyone thought it was weird you ended up with Miguel, but opposites attract right?
Darkness swallowed the office, as usual. The only source of light being the screens on Miguel’s platform. As if he knew you were coming, the platform was just a few centimeters above the ground, saving you the time of swinging to it.
“Hi Miggyy” you said, jumping into the platform and hugging your boyfriend from behind, wrapping your arms around his waist and wresting your chin in his back.
“Hola amor” he replied, turning as much as he could to see you, with you wrap around his middle. “Come here.”
He grabbed your arm, pulling you towards his front, so he could hug you properly. You didn’t resist, you round him and pressed your cheek against his chest, standing on your toes.
Miguel embraced you without wasting a second, pulling you flush against his form, barely letting space between you too, but enough to let you breath.
He kissed the top of your head rapidly a few times before giving you a long kiss on the crown of your head while also smelling. He pulled away, sighed contently and rested his chin on your head.
“Are you tired Mig?” you mumbled, feeling sleepy yourself.
“Mmm” was all he said, kissing your head again and stroking your back with one of his hands, while the other remained on your waist holding your weight and to keep you close.
“Why don’t we sit, mm?” you said, pulling back a little, causing a groan to emit from him. “Sshh, I knoww.” you coo, caressing his cheek with the back of your hand. Using his shoulders as support, you stretched yourself as high as you could to peck his lips. As you opened your eyes while pulling away, you couldn’t help but smile.
Miguel was so sleepy. His eyes barely open, face peaceful, all the lines caused by the stress gone, lips in a pout, mumbling about something, too incoherent for you to understand.
You giggled to yourself. No one would believe their angry, moody boss was putty in your hands right now.
You would stay like this forever, admiring him, but you knew he was going to get even more moody if you didn’t cuddle with him in the next five minutes.
“Okay Mig,” you said, planting the palm of your hands in his broad chest. “step back, let me guide you to the chair.”
“Mmm” was all he answered, making you bite your lip to suppress a giggle.
Carefully, you guided Miguel, who was walking backwards, to his chair. Once the back of his legs hit it, he sat down, pulling you on top of him by the waist, without wasting a second.
“Migueel” you squealed.
"Stop moving" he mumbled against your neck, tickling you in the process.
“Stop making me laugh then” you replied, trying to push him off, as a result he grabbed you tighter and pressed you against his chest. You pressed your cheek against his head, trying to get comfortable, as his head was between your neck and shoulder, nose nestled just were they connect.
As seconds went by, you could feel Miguel’s breath against your skin. His chest was raising up and down slower every time, your own breath, your scent and you playing with his hair luring him to sleep. You were his safe place, as he was yours.
The peace didn’t last long. The quiet and wholesome moment was rudely interrupted by the screens flashing and Lyla appearing in front of the both of you.
“Wake up love birds,” she chirped. “Duty calls.”
Miguel groaned loudly against your neck, taking his hand away from your waist to swat Lyla away.
“Sendanotherteam” Miguel drawled.
“What was that?” Lyla asked, fixing her glasses
“Send another team!” he snarled, taking his face away from your cozy frame.
“Sorry can’t do” Lyla replied. “It is a busy day, no one else is available.”
Before Miguel got angrier, you decided to interject, “It is okay Migs. We go together and we will be back in no time” you said, stroking his cheek and chest, aiming to calm him down.
He looked down at you with tired eyes. You smiled at him, and he mirrored it.
“Okay.” he said, standing up, lifting you with him. He kissed your cheek before putting you down on the floor.
“What’s the anomaly Lyla?” Miguel asked.
“Earth-232997A, there is a variant of the Lizard..” Lyla answered
“Let me guess,” you interrupted, crossing your arms and arching your brow “transforming everyone in lizards?”
“Not exactly” she replied “He is transforming everyone in animals. Apparently they transform in the animal their personality is closest to”
“Well, that’s new.” you said laughing “Hope it doesn’t get to you Migs, or we will be stuck with two Spider-cats”
“I am not a cat” he objected, rolling his eyes, fumbling with his watching, inserting the digits to the desired dimension
“I have to agree with y/n here.” Lyla insisted. “You do behave like a cat.” You two bumped fits, making Miguel groan.
“Whatever” he mumbled, “let’s go amor” he continued, while opening the portal.
The portal manifested itself across from you, past Miguel.
“Ohh, don’t get grumpy mi vida” you pouted, walking to the portal “You are my kitty”. You tickled him below his chin, before laughing and rushing to the portal.
As you entered the new dimension, from the rooftop you were in, you could see the chaos this variant was causing. Animals roamed the streets alarmed, and the people who still weren’t transform, were just as confused.
“I am not a cat” you heard behind you. You turned to look at your boyfriend, as the portal disappeared behind him.
You giggled. You couldn’t believe he was taking this so seriously. “I know Mig” you said. “I was kidding, love.” you were not.
You walked up to him and tried to kiss him, but he lifted his head, acting annoyed. You pouted, kissing his chest instead.
“Alright, where is this Lizard?” you questioned, turning around to scan the city.
“Most animals are running from the north to the south” Miguel replied, joining you on the edge of the roof “I suggest we start there”
“Good, let’s go” you said, materializing your mask on your face before swinging off.
With Miguel following, you swung across the city looking for the lizard. There were animals EVERYWHERE. Some looked like the lizard, but you figured he was going to have a weapon in his hands, and you hadn’t seen any yet.
After what felt like an hour searching, you decided to stop on the side of the building to catch your breath. Miguel dropped next to you and took of his mask.
“Any luck?” he said, sounding out of breath too.
“No, I didn’t see him, you?” you answered. He shook his head, scanning the city.
You nodded, and proceeded to do the same.
“There!” You exclaimed, pointing down. The Lizard was walking the street two blocks away.
Miguel took the initiative and swung his way.
As you were approaching from the air, he turned around, sensing you. He jumped around, aiming his weapon towards Miguel and yourself. The beam that emanated came right at you, but Miguel and you jumped out of the way, dodging it.
“Don’t let him hit you” Miguel shouted at you. “I don’t want to get stuck with a dog” he joked.
“Hey!” you exclaimed, but you couldn’t help but laugh.
The Lizard continued to aim the weapon between you and Miguel, you both jumping around trying to distract him from one another, to let the other have a clear flank to attack. But he was good. It didn’t help that he had a long tail, preventing you or Miguel from attacking him from behind.
You were growing tired. All this jumping around wasn’t doing shit, only making you lose energy.
“Miguel!” You screamed between jumps. “I am going front, I am tired of waiting”. Without wasting any second, you threw yourself to the Lizard.
Thankfully, he was looking at Miguel, so you managed to punch him in the face. He was strong, so it only disorientated him a little bit, stumbling back.
You took advantage of the distraction and webbed the weapon, trying to take it off his hands, but the lizard recovered fast. He used his tail to knock you off your feet, making you lose your grip on your web.
You tried to stand up as fast as you could, but it was too late. The Lizard used his tail again to tie your feet together and punched you in the face, throwing you down in the floor. You hit your head pretty badly, making your eyes glossy and everything blurry.
You could hear the sound of a fight around you, probably Miguel trying to keep the Lizard occupied, distracting him from your vulnerable state.
Your vision came to you little by little. Every second that passed, it became neater. You lifted your hands to your face, seeing them clearly. Your brain was still screaming at you, the back of your head burning from the impact.
You sat up slowly, still trying to pay attention to the sounds of the fight, listening if Miguel needed help. You touched the back of your neck, looking for injuries, but there were any. Thank god, it could have been nasty.
Carefully, you stood up on your feet, testing your balance. You were okay, good. Now back to the fight.
As you turned around, you saw how the Lizard threw Miguel towards the nearest wall. Debris, posters and cardboard falling on top of him.
“Miguel!” you shouted, running towards him.
He didn’t move, he was probably unconscious. Please Miguel, please. Move! you thought as you were sprinting towards the Lizard, but you were far away, and your brain wasn’t cooperating.
The anomaly aimed his weapon towards Miguel, and you couldn’t reach him in time.
“Hey!” you screamed “YOU BIG UGLY LIZARD” you tried to get his attention, but he didn’t budge.
He shoot the weapon, and in the place where your lovely boyfriend was laying, there was nothing.
“NO!!” you cried. “What did you do!?”.
You were angry. This wasn’t supposed to happen.
You charged towards the Lizard at full force.
Miguel wasn’t dead, he couldn’t be. He was just a really small animal. Yeah! That was it. You said to yourself, trying to convince yourself that your boyfriend was still alive.
The Lizard loaded the weapon again, aiming at you, but this time you were ready. As he was about to shoot it, you shot a web towards its opening, prohibiting the beam to escape.
The weapon overloaded, which made it explode in the hands of the Lizard.
Now, without the weapon, the anomaly wasn’t that powerful. Thanks to your webs and your new founded speed, you tied him up in no time, and threw him on one of Miguel’s cages.
As soon as you made sure he was locked, you ran to where Miguel was supposed to be.
“Mig?” you said carefully. He wasn’t there. He was a big man, 90% of the times you could see him in plain sight. Tears began to well up in your eyes.
“Mig” you whispered. You dropped to your knees now fully crying, not being able to stay strong anymore.
Tears were streaming down your face, wetting your cheeks and falling to your legs. You covered your face with your hands, sobbing into them. You began shaking uncontrollably. What were you supposed to do? How could you tell everyone what happened? THIS WAS SUPPOSED TO BE EASY! You were supposed to capture this anomaly and go back to cuddle. And now you were alone.
Between your sobs, you heard rustling near you. Maybe you shouldn’t be crying in the ground when there are a lot of wild animals running around. You know they are people, but you don’t know if they keep their conscience, one could attack you.
Regaining some control over your body, still weak from all the crying and the fight, you stood up, dusting your legs. You rubbed your eyes, wiping your tears away. As you were turning to take the Lizard back to HQ, you heard more rustling coming from below the card boards and debris that fell over Miguel.
Right in front of your eyes, a blue and red Maine Coon wobble out, looking confuse. It stretch himself, before looking around and spotting you. You looked at him wide eyed. A blue cat? you thought Those aren’t normal, but again, you ARE in other dimension.
It walked towards you and stopped at your feet, sat over his back legs and gazed up at you. It meowed at you, as urging you to do something.
“Do you want me to pick you up?” you asked, hoping it would understand.
It meowed at you again, before standing up and rubbing his body against your legs.
“Okay, okay buddy” You said, before bending down and picking the cat up. It was a tricky action, given that the cat stretched out was as tall as half as you. And he weighted too.
“There you go, bud” you mumbled, looking at the beautiful cat, now in your arms. You swayed your body, as trying to make a baby sleep, and the cat started purring, closing his eyes.
“I wish Mig could see you” you sighed, looking at him. That made him stop purring, and look at you.
“What?” you asked. Why is it looking at me like that?
The cat meowed and trill, headbutting your chin. Wait! A blue and red gigantic cat. THIS WAS YOUR MIGGY
“Miggy?” you asked, before getting your hopes up in vain. The cat purred and headbutted you again.
“MIGGYYY” you squealed, holding the cat from beneath his front legs with your arms stretched. “I told you you were a kitty”. At that, he hissed.
“Oh, I am so sorry darling” you said, pulling him close to your chest and kissing his head multiple times, at which he purred.
“Let’s get you back at HQ, hmm?” you said
And with that, you opened a portal to Miguel’s dimension and threw the Lizard into it, before hugging Miguel to your chest and crossing the threshold.

Part 2
When you stepped foot in Miguel’s office, everything was quiet. Thank god, you didn’t know how you could explain that Miguel was now a cat. You sighed in relief, one less thing off your list.
“Okay Migs” you said, talking to the now comfortable cat in your arms. “I am going to take this anomaly to the cages, so it can be shipped off, okay?”
Miguel purred in your arms. Oh, how cute was he? Obviously you couldn’t voice it out loud, because he would hiss at you and get away from your arms. Your boyfriend could be really emotional sometimes.
You walked towards Miguel’s platform, so you could sit him in his chair, while you went off to do your thing.
“Don’t touch anything Miggy.” you said sternly, knowing how workaholic he was. “You are a cat right now, so you could mess things up.” You finished petting Miguel on the head, but before you could go, Lyla popped up.
“There you are!” she greeted. “Where have you been? I thought you said this was going to be easy. The lizard isn’t that hard.”
“Excuse me?” you said, putting a hand in your chest acting offended and widening your eyes, trying to signal Miguel not to move or make any sound. “Why don’t you try it yourself, missy?” you taunted, you put your hands in your waist locking eyes with Lyla aiming to keep her attention on you, and not the cat sitting a few centimeters away.
“I can’t, remember?” she replied, placing her holographic hands in her waist, mirroring you. “I am merely an AI. There is not much I can do, physically at least.”
“Yeah well, so keep the catching of the anomalies to the professionals then.” You finished, crossing your arms over your chest and turning around.
“Where is Miguel?” she asked, making you stop dead in your tracks.
“Oh, ah-” you stuttered, turning around while scratching the back of your neck. “He, he is… umm.. taking the anomaly to the cages! Yeah, that” you said, pointing at Lyla with a triumph smile in your face. Feww, that was close, you thought.
“You mean, the anomaly behind you?” Dammit!.
“Oh!” you said, pretending to be surprised, turning to look at the anomaly and back at her. “He must have forgotten it. You know, it was a really difficult fight. I am tired, he is tired, everyone is tired” you emphasized, using your hands to explain.
“Miguel is never tired” Lyla replied, lowering her glasses over her nose. Oh, she was catching onto you.
“Well, he is now” you said, crossing your arms over your chest again. “I think I know my boyfriend.”
“Girl” Lyla said, before disappearing and materializing right in front of you. “I know Miguel, and I know you. What are you hiding?”
“Nothing!” you said, way too abruptly, making you cringe internally.
Lyla eyed you up and down before sighing. “You know, you are an awful liar.”
“I am NOT lying.”
“So, who is this cat?” she questioned, transporting herself right were Miguel was.
“Oh, that?” you said, playing dumb. “It is just a stray that I found on the street.”
“Then, why does he have Miguel’s colors?” she kept pressing.
“Omg Lyla, I don’t know, okay?” you replied, trying to get her off your back. “He just seemed cute, so I grabbed him.”
“And Miguel was okay with this?”
“Yes!!”
“Okay” she replied.
“Thank you!” you exclaimed. Finally! You managed to trick her.
You turned around and stepped off the platform, walking towards the anomaly.
Just as you were about to grasp the anomaly to take it away, you heard a “click”. You turned around alarmed. On the platform, you saw Lyla with her holographic phone, taking pictures of Miguel.
Right there and then, Miguel snapped. He hissed at Lyla and jumped towards her, trying to catch her, at which she disappeared and appeared some meters away.
“Lyla!” you shouted, but she didn’t pay attention. She was too busy trying to run away from Miguel, who was chasing her none stop, like a cat pursues a flashlight.
“Miguel, stop!” you said, now chasing him. “You can hurt yourself! STOP!” But he didn’t listen.
“Aha!” Lyla said, between transportations. “I knew you were lying.”
“Yes! Happy now?” you replied, opening your arms. “You can’t let anyone know! You can’t share that picture.” which caught her attention.
“Why not?” she asked, looking at you, forgetting for a split second that a cat was chasing her.
Miguel took advantage of the distraction and leaped at her. Obviously, he expected to grasp something on his mouth, but he passed through Lyla, disorientating him.
You had to watch how your boyfriend flew in the air right in front of your eyes, and then lost balance mid flight. You know that saying ‘All cats fall in their feet’? well, this wasn’t the case. Miguel landed roughly into his desk, head first.
“Miguel!” you shouted, running up to him. “Are you okay?”
Miguel just meowed slowly, clearly hurt. You grabbed him in your arms, being mindful of not putting pressure in his head.
“Shhh it is okay baby” you cooed at him. “I told you to be careful.”
You stroked Miguel’s fur, aiming to calm him down, while you rocked from side to side, like holding a baby. Once you heard him purr, you kissed his head repeatedly but softly, nestling your nose with his.
The beautiful moment was interrupted by another click. You and Miguel turned your heads towards Lyla. Miguel turned in your arms, trying to get away and hissing at Lyla, showing her his fangs.
You, on the other hand, stared at Lyla with a death stare. “Lyla” you barked. “I know you think this is a joke, but it isn’t.”
Miguel was fighting hard to get out of your arms, but you weren’t risking him getting hurt again.
“Miguel, STOP!” you shouted, trying to calm him down, but with no use.
Without realizing, Miguel took his claws out, scratching you several times.
“Ouch, Miguel” you yelped, letting him go.
Miguel landed on the floor, and turned to you. You looked at your hands and arms. Your suit was cut in various parts, showing your skin below, and that wasn’t any better. Blood was coming out of the scratches Miguel had give you. They weren’t painful, per se, but they burned.
You felt Miguel rubbed his body and tail against your legs, meowing. You stepped back, making him sit on his back legs, looking hurt.
You closed your eyes, taking deep breaths. These was going to be a loong couple of hours, you thought.
“Okay” you said, putting your hands together in front of you. “One, Lyla, you do NOT, and I hope I come off as clear, you don’t under any circumstance, post or send those pictures to ANYONE, understood?” you said sternly.
“But-”
“No Lyla!” you yelled. “No one can know Miguel is a cat. This isn’t a joke. There is an entire universe that is full of humans transformed into animals and we have to fix that” you explained.
“I get that, but what does it have to do with me sending this pictures” she said confused.
“Well, for starters, Miguel wouldn’t like that. Second, people would come and roam in this office trying to see Miguel, which would make him stress, much more that I am sure he is right now. Besides, he could hurt himself, which he just did! And that was your fault”
“If you ask me it was your fault”
“What was that?” you asked, clearly pissed.
“Nothing”
“That’s what I thought” you finished, breathing slowly through your nose. “Lyla, keep watching Miguel, don’t let him do anything. I am going to take this anomaly to the 'Go Home Machine' and then I’ll come and start working on a device to get those people and Miguel back, okay? Lock the doors as soon as I walk out” you stared at Lyla, waiting for a confirmation. She simply nodded, before disappearing into thin air.
You sighed. You loved Lyla, but sometimes she was too much.
“Come here Migs” you beckoned the cat.
Miguel walked towards you, before standing into his back legs and stretching himself towards you. You picked him up slowly, cradling him in your arms. He stared at you lovingly, and started licking your arms, where your wounds were.
“Migs, I know that you are trying to help, but your tongue is rough” you said, giggling, and kissing his head. “You have to stay here, alright? Promise me.”
He looked at you and meowed, before headbutting you on the lips. You kissed him before gently putting him on his desk.
“I’ll be back.” you said.
You rushed to get the anomaly back home, hoping no one dared entered Miguel’s office. The odds were in your favor on your way to the ‘Go Home Machine’ because no one stopped you or asked for Miguel, but on your way back….
“Hey girl!” Jess said.
“Oh, hi Jess.” you replied, wiping the sweat out of your forehead with the back of your hand.
“Are you okay?” she asked concerned. “You seem kind of in a rush.”
“Oh no.” you answered, shaking your hand dismissively. “It’s nothing.”
“Does Miguel have you running errands for him?” she questioned, placing her hands on her hips and raising an eyebrow.
“Miguel? Who mentioned Miguel?” you hurried to get out, maybe too quickly, making Jess look at you weirdly. “Miguel is fine, in his office, as always. You know how he is.” You punched Jess’ shoulder lightly and laughed, trying to calm yourself down and convince her that everything was fine.
“Are you sure you are fine?”
“Yeah yeah, one hundred percent. Just a little tired.” you explained, putting a hand on your chest. “Oh! If you could get this information around. Miguel is doing something really important in his office, so no one can enter. And, also, all messages directed to him must come to me. He doesn’t want to be bothered. You know how grumpy he gets, hehe” you finished, giggling out of stress. You needed to get back, Miguel could be hurt again.
“Okay…. ” Jess said, clearly suspicious. “If you need help with anything, let me know.”
“For sure, yeah. Thank you Jess!” you exclaimed, running off to Miguel’s office.
Once you shut down Miguel’s office door, you let out a sigh. Keeping everyone out was easy, the thing was convincing the thousand something employees that his leader was okay and working. On top of bringing Miguel and all that city back to normal, you had to fill Miguel’s shoes, and you knew how hard that was.
Thankfully, Miguel was still where you had left him, the only difference being he was in deep sleep.
“Ohh Migs” you whispered, lifting your hand slowly to pet him. He was adorable, snoring lightly with his tongue out, sprawled out on the desk. He deserved to rest.
“Lyla” you whispered. The AI appeared right in front of you, without making a sound, clearly not wanting to piss you off like before.
“I’m going to go back to the dimension where the Lizard was” you explained, voice barely above a whisper. “His weapon exploded, but maybe there are parts that help me undo this. Take care of Miguel, and if anyone calls, redirect it to me.”
You used your gizmo to open a portal and went through. Thankfully, you remember where the fight took place. Once you reached a building near the street where you defeated the Lizard, you saw how a lot of animals roamed the streets, scared and helpless. The remaining humans weren’t any better.
Okay, one issue at the time you thought. You jumped off the wall to a near top of a car, so everyone could see you.
“Hi! Everyone?” you shouted, trying to sound confident, but failing miserably. Talking in public wasn’t one of your strengths. “I know all of you are concerned and scared, but I assure you than me and my team..” well just me you thought “… are doing everything in our power to get everything back to normal.”
“And who are you?” someone shouted in the crowd.
“I’m a superhero, you don’t have to be scared, I’m here to help.” you explained.
“And how can we trust you?” other person asked, while trying to calm a dog, presumably, someone he knew.
“What other option do you have?” you questioned back, causing a murmur around the sea of people.
“I promise to get back to you as soon as possible.” you continued. “Now, if you let me, I am looking for parts of a weapon.” You hopped off the car, and walked the street, looking at the ground, trying to avoid animals, people and other things.
Unfortunately, the weapon was no where in sight. Great you thought, running your fingers through your hair. This is going to be more difficult than I thought.
Before going back to Miguel’s office, you decided to make a trip to the Lizard’s dimension, hopefully, you could find Doctor Connor’s lab and see his notes.
You got back to Miguel’s office with Dr. Connor’s notes. It would have been better if he had a prototype, but this would do. You were a woman of science after all.
You stepped out of the portal reading the papers, not paying attention to the world around you. All of a sudden, a giant shadow blocked your light, preventing you from seeing the words on the paper you were holding. You looked up from the notes just in time to see a giant ball of fur flying your way.
“MIGUEL!” you shouted, dropping everything to catch him in your arms. You weren’t successful though. The Maine Coon was too big and was coming at too much speed, so when you caught him in your arms, the momentum made you stumbled back and land in your butt.
“Ouch” you exclaimed, before grabbing Miguel by his front legs and stretching him in front of you. “What on Earth are you doing?”
“Meow”
“Don’t act innocent you little kitty” you said acting mad. “When I left you were sleeping, what the hell happened?”
“He woke up and when he realized you weren’t here he went crazy” Lyla explained, appearing over your left shoulder, with all her clothes out of place.
“And let me guess, he started chasing you.”
Miguel hissed at Lyla and started wiggling in your grasp, but you didn’t budge.
“That would be correct” she said, before glitching and fixing her appearance. “I would recommend that you wake him up next time, I am not a babysitter.”
Miguel snarled, probably saying he is not a baby.
You rolled your eyes, clearly you couldn’t leave him alone for more than five minutes.
“Stop it you two” you said. “Your bickering is cute and fun when we are in normal circumstances, which we are not right now, so please, can you two get along for a couple of hours until I figure this out?”
“Whatever” Lyla shrugged and then disappeared. Miguel, on the other hand, looked at you with those beautiful red eyes, begging.
“I am talking to you too mister, doesn’t matter how cute you are” you handled Miguel so you could cradle him in your arms and expose his belly, to tickle him.
“MEEOOWW” Miguel screamed, using his back legs to keep your hands away, all while you were laughing.
“Want me to stop? Mmm” you cooed at him, scratching under his chin. Miguel growled at you. “Then let me work in peace, or I’ll keep you this way.” He snarled at that.
You giggled to yourself, and stood up with Miguel still in your arms. You walked to his chair and placed him there, hoping he would fall asleep again. You kissed him in his head, which made him headbutt you, so you kissed him again, and again, and again.. until he turned around, putting his tail right in your mouth.
You took that as a signal to get the job done. So, you grabbed Dr. Connor’s notes and got to work.
You spent hours trying to replicate the Lizards weapon. His notes were horrendous, but you got around them. You had the first step done, the machine that transformed humans into animals. Now you had to find a way to revert it.
You yawned, and stretched yourself.
“What time is it?” you said groggily, speaking to yourself. You looked to your side, where the clock was. It read 2:00 a.m. 2:00 A.M??! you thought Wow, time does fly. Now I understand Miguel. You were tempted to go to bed, but you needed to fix this thing, so you decided to keep working. A all nighter wouldn’t hurt you. But someone had other plans…
Miguel had been sleeping peacefully while you were working, but now he was awake. He hopped on your workspace, and meowed at you.
“Hi Migs” you said covering your mouth yawning. “How was that nap?” You turned to continue working. As you reached to grab the screwdriver near you, you saw from the corner of your eye how Miguel was walking towards you. Slowly, he headbutted your hand that was clutching the screwdriver.
You didn’t pay attention to him, too focused on trying to finish the machine. Miguel growled softly and then proceeded to drawn out a meow, trying to catch your attention, but not succeeding.
Your attention was solely on the machine, frowning and sticking your tongue out in concentration. One slip and you could be turned into an animal as well, or worse, turn the whole society. Boy, would that be a disaster.
You were so focused that you didn’t catch Miguel’s actions. He had gradually gotten close to you, waiting for the perfect moment to strike. Once your right hand, the one with the screwdriver, was away from the device, he jumped and bit your hand, making you drop the tool and quickly clutch your hand towards your chest.
“Ouch!” you exclaimed. “Miguel, what is wrong with you?” you didn’t expect an answer from him, so you carried on with your work, not before staring at Miguel with a frown and giving him a death stare. “I know you are impatient, but I am trying my best here.”
You continued working, not paying attention to the cat, but he knew how to gain it.
Miguel howled loudly, making you snap your head towards him. “Miguel” you hissed. “Someone could here, can you stay quiet please?” you were honestly losing your patience.
Miguel stared straight at you, while his paw gently push the screwdriver towards the edge.
“Miguel NO” you said sternly, but he didn’t listen. He kept giving the tool gentle pushes, until almost half of it was outside of the table.
“Miguel” you challenged. You locked eyes with him. You closed them and opened them, daring him to move, and see the consequences.
He looked at you dead in the eyes and pushed the screwdriver all the way through, making it drop to the floor and make a big noise, echoing through the big and empty office.
“That’s it” you said, dropping the tools and gloves you had on. “What do you want?”
Miguel walked towards you and headbutted your stomach. You looked confused for a minute, until something clicked on your head.
“Oh my god” you cried, covering your mouth with your hands. “You are hungry.”
Miguel meowed, as in telling you yes.
“Oh Miggyyy” you whispered, grabbing him and cradling him in your arms. “I am so so sorry.” You kissed his head while he purred and gave him a really tight hug. Just in cue, your stomach grumbled too.
“Okay, what if we go to my universe, hmm?” you asked. “I know a supermarket near my apartment that sells cat things, and then we go to my home and we sleep a little. What do you say?”
Miguel purred in your arms and meowed repeatedly. You had read enough about cats beforehand to know that meant he was excited.
“Alright, let’s go” you said, before letting Lyla know you were leaving and that she had to contact you if anything went wrong. And with that, you opened a portal to your universe and went home with a kitty in your arms.
Once you landed on your universe, you rushed home to change and leave Miguel, not before telling him to be careful and that you would be back shortly.
Not wanting to leave Miguel alone for long, you ran to the nearest market and bought some cat food, tuna, some toys you saw that you thought were cute (and that Miguel would probably hate, but you wanted to tease him), and some food for you, for some weird reason you were craving empanadas. Yeah, not a good fast food to make at 3 a.m in the morning, but you wanted it, so you couldn’t deny your appetite anything.
You sprinted back with the shopping bags on your arms, and as soon as you opened your door, you heard the cutest pitter-patter of Miguel's paws running towards you on your wooden floors. Once he saw you he started meowing non stop. You weren’t sure if it was because he missed you or because he could smell the food you had brought.
You placed the bags on the counter, and Miguel climbed on it, smelling each bag, trying to decipher where the food was.
“You are so impatient” you giggled.
Miguel just meowed, and kept smelling the bags, until he found what he was looking for and got into the bag.
“Miguel!” you exclaimed, grabbing him. He cried and tried to wiggle out of your hold, but you were strong.
With Miguel in one arm, you looked for a plate to place his food. Once you found it, you put Miguel on the floor and proceeded to fix his food. As soon as you placed the plate on the floor, Miguel dived into it, as if he was starving.
“I’m sorry Miggy, I forgot about the food” you said. He didn’t answer, too busy shoving his mouth with food.
You laughed at him for a while, until your stomach grumbled, so then you proceeded to make your food, taking advantage that Miguel was busy with his own.
You started making the filling for the empanadas. You bought minced meat, onions, olives and bell peppers, to make them the Argentinian style just as your mom had taught you. You chopped all the veggies, making yourself cry with the onions, and hoping Miguel was alright, but as you heard no complaining, you assumed he was fine.
Just as the filling was done and you were about to start making the empanadas, Miguel finished his food, and hopped on the counter to watch what you were doing. He groomed himself, acting as a gentleman, but you knew he was up to no good.
You pretended to not pay attention, and continued making the empanadas and putting them in a tray, to take them to the oven. Once you finished the last one, you had an urged to go to the bathroom, so you let them on top of the stove, so they wouldn’t burn.
You rushed to the toilet. While you were using the restroom you heard Miguel scratched the door and meowed at the other side. I can’t believe this guy you thought, giggling to yourself. You hurried to opened the door, and there he was. He looked at you with those beautiful eyes, those eyes that you had learnt to love, but also that you could read like a book. He had done something.
You shook your head smiling. You crunched down to pick him up and kiss him. “You’ve become really needy in this past couple of hours” you said to him. “Maybe I should keep you like this a little longer” you joked, making him hiss, but then purred, as you scratched him behind his ears.
You walked towards the kitchen, and there it was. He had left printed paws in one of the empanadas. “This is why you are acting so cute?” you questioned, grabbing him to look at what he had done. He meowed slowly at you. You simply laughed, he was adorable after all.
After cooking, eating and cleaning everything, it was already 5 a.m, and you were exhausted and so was Miguel, who spent all the last 10 minutes yawning right in front of your face and headbutting you, demanding pets.
You prepared yourself for bed, knowing you weren’t going to sleep much, but that you needed it to stay focus tomorrow during work. You climbed into bed and called Miguel to cuddle with you. In only five minutes, you fell asleep, listening to Miguel’s purrs.
Around 8 a.m you were rudely awakened by a paw hitting your nose. You opened your eyes slowly, feeling disorientated, the sun hitting your face making it difficult to see. You felt a weight on your chest, and then Miguel’s face emerged from the sun. He purr at you, making biscuits in your chest and licking your nose, cheeks and chin repeatedly.
“Miguellll” you groaned, but you couldn’t help but giggle.
“Meow” he responded. flopping in your chest, with his head tucked between your shoulder and neck. He nestled himself in, but you wouldn’t let him. You sat up quickly, causing him to slide off, and growled.
“If you wake me up, you can’t expect to receive cuddles mister” you said, getting out of the bed and into the bathroom, to start your morning routine. Miguel followed your footsteps, climbing into the sink, and staring at you, without uttering a sound.
You proceeded to do your things as always, plus, fixing a plate for Miguel for his breakfast. As soon as you were both ready, and you had packed Miguel’s things (food and the toys) you opened a portal to Miguel’s dimension, to continue working.
When you stepped out of the portal, into Miguel’s office, you were met with light over Miguel’s platform. Light? you thought. I thought I had turned off everything last night. Maybe it was Lyla.
You walked towards it and set him down in the chair, so he could be comfortable, and the bag with his things in the table. As you were about to call for Lyla, you heard a sound behind you.
You turned around alarmed. Scanning with your eyes the space, you couldn’t see anything out of place, but you could sense it. You signaled Miguel to stay hidden, in case it was a Spider person, and stepped out of the platform, walking towards the place where you heard the sound coming from.
Approaching your working station slowly and with soft steps, your senses where in high alert. You could have called Lyla, but she was way too noisy this days, and she would have probably said something about Miguel’s state, so you didn’t want to take any chances.
Your work station was dark, you could barely make senses of the shapes. The sound had stopped, but you knew someone or something was near. As you were about to reach the table, something moved quickly on your right side. You turned your body that way, when…
“Surprise!!”
“AHHH” you screamed, falling backwards.
Peter B quickly grabbed your arm preventing you from landing on your butt and stabilizing you. You placed a hand over your chest, breathing rapidly.
“My god Peter!” you exclaimed, almost out of breath. “You almost killed me.”
Peter B and Mayday laughed. “I’m sorry” he said. “I was just waiting for the big guy, when I noticed this thing on the workspace. Is this what Miguel is working on?” he asked, pointing his finger towards the machine.
Miguel! you thought. I have to make sure he doesn’t see him.
“Oh! That?” you pointed. “Yeah, yeah. That’s Miguel’s.”
“So, where is he?”
“Where is who?”
“Miguel?”
“Ah” you exclaimed. “He is, uhmm, he is taking a break, yeah” you said, playing with your hands. “He had been working all night, so yeah, he was tired.”
“Miguel, tired?” Peter B questioned, looking at you raising his eyebrow.
“Well, not really” you answered scratching the back of your neck. “I made him take a nap. But anyways” you said, trying to change the course of the conversation. “What are you doing here? I thought I told Jess no one was allowed.” You crossed your arms, aiming to look intimidating.
“Yes, I know.” Peter said, looking down at Mayday in his carrier. “I just wanted to leave Mayday with you. I have a mission and you know Miguel doesn’t like when I take her.”
You widened your eyes. Dammit Peter, right now? you thought.
“I’m really glad you trust me with her Peter, but isn’t there someone else?” you said, looking discreetly towards Miguel’s chair. Taking care of Miguel, a baby and fixing a machine wasn’t an easy thing to do.
“Nope, everyone else is busy”
“Ughh, fine” you groaned, extending your arms to grab Mayday.
She happily jumped into your arms, this not being the first time you had taken care of her.
“Okay, bye babyy” Peter cooed at her. “Thank you y/n. Tell the big guy I say hello.”
“Okay, byeee” you said fake smiling.
Once Peter was out of the door, you dropped your smile and sighed. This is going to be a looong day you thought.
“Okay, baby” you said, turning Mayday in your arms to make her look at you. “There is someone I would like you to meet, but you can’t tell anyone. Okay??”
Mayday, laughed, and put her index finger in front of her mouth. “Yeah, shhh” you said, mimicking her.
You walked towards Miguel, hoping he would not go ballistic and not hurt Mayday. You turned the chair, and there he was, sitting while grooming himself. Once he felt the movement, he stopped and looked at you, and then down at Mayday.
He meowed, confused. Mayday, on the other hand, immediately reached to grab him, while chanting “Kitty Kitty” all over. Miguel scooted back, hitting the back of the chair, trying to get out of Mayday’s arm reach.
“Careful Mayday, this is a cute Kitty, but you have to be careful, alright?” you said. “And the Kitty will behave” you finished, opening your eyes to signal Miguel.
He growled at you, but then meowed. You grabbed the bag on the table first, and then him with your free arm, and took him and Mayday towards you working station.
“Lyla, lights please!” you said, loudly enough for the AI to hear. The lights turned on and Lyla appeared right in front of you.
“Busy day ahead huh?” she smirked.
“Yeah..” you sighed. “Any important thing I should know about?”
“Not really, only that the people from the universe where this happened,” she said, motioning to Miguel. “are becoming a little impatient.”
“Yeah, I can imagine” you huffed.
You bent down, placing Miguel on the floor, and then grabbing a blanket, laying it down to set Mayday on top of it. As soon as she was free, she launched herself towards Miguel.
“MEOOOW” he screamed, being grasped by her tiny hands.
Mayday hugged him towards her chest and started petting him, as slowly as she could.
“That’s good Mayday” you cheered, while clapping at her. “You are being so careful.”
Lyla took out her holographic phone and took a picture, making you look at her, raising an eyebrow.
“I thought we had talk about this” you said, crossing your arms over your chest.
“What?” she questioned. “You can’t tell me you don’t want to remember this. I promise it is just for Miguel, you and me.”
“Promise?”
“Promise.”
“Okay” you said, uncrossing your arms. “I have to admit, it is really funny.” you laughed.
Miguel, on the other hand, was staring at both of you angrily.
“Sorry” you mouthed at him, making him growled.
Before going back to work, you opened the bag and took out the toys you had brought.
“Here Mayday” you said, handing her a stick with a rat attached to it. “You can play with this, see if he likes it.”
She looked at it and grabbed it with one arm, the other still holding Miguel down. She laughed, and moved it around, in front of Miguel. He didn’t pay much attention to it, he was still locking at you, the only difference now was that he was even angrier.
“Oh, come on Kitty” you cooed, teasing him. “Play a little.”
Miguel meowed at you, but proceeded to play his part, only to humor you. Once you saw they were safe, you continued working, you didn’t want to prolong Miguel’s suffering any longer.

Hours went by, now Miguel and Mayday, both exhausted from all the playing, were sleeping together on the blanket on the floor. You, on the other hand, had been working none stop, but you were close.
"One more screw and… YES!" you whispered, throwing your hands in the air. The weapon was done, or at least, that’s what you thought.
“Lyla” you murmured. The AI appeared in front of you. “I am going to the that universe to see if this works” you explained. “If Miguel or Mayday wake up, tell them, and take care of them while I’m gone”
Lyla gave you a thumbs up and disappeared.
You looked at the child and the cat and knelt down to give them both a kiss on the head. Standing up, you grabbed the device and opened a portal to the universe where the Lizard attack happened.
It only happened yesterday, but it feels like an eternity you thought, stepping through the portal. You swung your way to the most affected area. Police cars where lined up, containing the animals.
You landed on the roof of one of the cars.
“Officer!” you shouted. “I need a megaphone”.
The policeman handed it to you. “People of New York” you said into it. “I’m here to turn you back into humans, please all gather around.”
“Are you sure it is going to work?” the officer asked.
“Yes” Not really you lied. Well, it wasn’t exactly a lie. You just weren’t sure.
More and more animals swarmed the streets. Hopefully, everyone affected, or most of them, where there. You aimed the device towards the crowed, and prayed that it would work.
You pressed the trigger closing your eyes, not wanting to see the result.
There was a collective gasp among the people, which made you snap your eyes open. There, in front of you, where animals had resided, now there where people.
“Yes!” you exclaimed, jumping in place. It worked! you thought.
You continued to shoot the beam towards the affected, until there were no animals in sight, or at least, no humans transformed into animals.
“Thank you, superhero” the officer said.
“No, thank you” you replied. “I am sorry for the inconvenience. I am going to come back to leave this to you, in case there are others who aren’t here, but now I have to use it somewhere else” you explained, and without waiting for an answer, you swung to the nearest rooftop, opening a portal and exiting it in Miguel’s office.
Thankfully, Mayday was still asleep, which was perfect. Lyla popped up next to you, and asked:
“And? Did it work?”
“Yes! I’m going to wake up Miguel”
You walked towards the cat, still sprawled out in the blanket and shook him up a little.
“Miggy, Miggy! Wake up” you whispered.
Miguel gently lift up his head, looking confused.
“The device works! I can turn you back!” you exclaimed, still not raising your voice, as to not wake up Mayday.
At that, Miguel stood up quickly and positioned himself in the middle of the room. You shoot the beam towards him, and in a second, your boyfriend appeared in all his glory, 6 feet and all.
“Miggy!!!” you squealed letting go of the machine, and jumped into his arms hugging him.
He hugged you back, lifting you in the air, turning. You giggled, feeling dizzy. Once he set you back in your feet, you grabbed his face and kissed him, but pulled back quickly.
“Wait!” you exclaimed. “Be right back!”. You ran towards the device, grabbed it and opened a portal to drop it off with the officer.
Once you came back, Miguel was looking confused, but you didn’t give him time to question you, because you jumped right back into his arms and kissed him deeply.
“I missed youu” you said, barely above a whisper, after pulling back slightly, lips still brushing against each other.
“I missed you too amor” he replied, rubbing his nose against yours. You giggled, happy to have your human boyfriend back.
“I have to admit,” you started. “I’m going to miss having a kitty” you finished pouting, looking up towards Miguel with pleading eyes.
“No” Miguel said sternly.
"Pleeease" you pleaded, giving him puppy eyes.
After a stare contest, he gave up.
"Fiinne" he groaned. "But it can't be a Maine Coon".
"Yayyyy" you squealed, and gave him a quick peck.
Maybe the Kitty Adventures weren't over after all.

Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Bonus (Part2)
PART 3
It’s been 2 weeks since the whole cat accident. Thankfully, no one heard about it, only Miguel, Lyla and you knew about it. Even though you had gotten angry at the AI for taking pictures, you have to admit that she kept her word and the photos were kept hidden. Besides, it was funny seeing Miguel as a Maine Coon, although he didn’t think so, and he still thought he wasn’t a cat. The audacity of that man.
For the other part, Miguel hasn’t stopped working, it seemed like he was trying to make up for lost time, even though it was at most two days he was out of duty, but that’s your boyfriend, a workaholic at his best.
With all the work Miguel had been doing, he totally forgot about you wanting to adopt a cat. In all honestly, you had forgotten too. The last two weeks had been swarmed with anomalies here and there, no time to stop and think or rest completely. Your mind always racing and alert, battling between your own villains at home and the ones that didn’t belong across the multiverse.
“Miguel, there’s an anomaly on Earth-98393A.” Lyla informed, appearing in front of her boss.
Miguel groaned, running his hand through his messy hair. With the amount of anomalies, he wasn’t running out of teams to send.
“Is there someone available?” he asked.
“Let me check” Lyla answered, pulling out her holographic tablet, and scrolling through it. “It seems like everyone is deployed, in the infirmary recovering or its their day off.”
Miguel massage the sides of his head, before pulling lightly on his hair.
“Call y/n” Miguel said. “We are going together.”
“On it!” the AI responded.
The gizmo rang a couple a seconds until you appeared in front of Miguel. It seemed like you were in the middle of something.
“Hi Miggy!!” you sang, a little out of breath.
“Hola amor. ¿Estás bien?” (Hi love. Are you okay?)
“I’m in-,” your face went out of frame, sounds of a fight taking over. “-the middle-,” an explosion was heard, and then some grunting and punching. “-of something.” you finished, sighing, and then beaming into the camera. “What’s up?”
“Am I interrupting something?” Miguel asked, a smirk forming on his lips.
“What do you think?” you questioned back, rolling your eyes, before smiling at him.
“There is an anomaly we have to take care of.”
“Okay, gimme a minute.” you groaned. “I have to-”
A giant object flew over your head, luckily, your spidey-senses warned you about it.
“Hey!” you snapped. “Rhino, I am busy over here. Can’t you wait for a single minute?” you rolled your eyes, and looked at Miguel. “Be there in a minute. Love ya. Mwah” you blew a kiss before hanging up.
“Lyla, status on the anomaly?” Miguel asked.
“It is causing a lot of trouble.” the AI answered. “I suggest you go now. Once your little girlfriend comes around, I’ll inform her.”
“Okay, let me know when she arrives.”
Miguel opened a portal to Earth-98393A using his gizmo. As soon as it opened he went through.
“Another day of work” he sighed, stretching his arms.
The fight was not going good.
Maybe he should have asked Lyla what he was facing.
Maybe Miguel should have listened to you when you said the sleep deprivation was going to bite him in the ass.
Maybe he should have not listened to Lyla and wait for you to arrive.
Maybe you should fucking hurry and help him. What was taking you so long??
THREE FRICKING ANOMALIES. That was what he was fighting.
Yes. Miguel was a big guy, he was a really strong Spider-man, but everyone has limits, and he has reached them minutes ago.
A vulture, a Rhino and a kind of symbiote had him cornered. Miguel took punch after punch, kick after kick, blow after blow.
After a kick to the gut, he fell to his knees, clutching his stomach.
“Lyla” he groaned. “Where is y/n?”
He managed to roll over to the right, just as the Rhino rammed into the wall behind of where he just was.
“I called her again, telling her it was an emergency” Lyla answered.
He stood up, groaning, still clutching his middle. There was internal bleeding and external bleeding, everything was aching, he didn’t know how many more punches he could take.
He was feeling dizzy, his senses not there 100%.
Thanks to that, the vulture managed to surprise him. He flew right into him, grabbing his middle and smacking him into the wall.
Miguel’s body was pressed against the wall and the Vulture. Nowhere to go.
His mind was slipping in and out of consciousness. The pressure on his chest preventing him from breathing properly.
The vulture grabbed his head and smashed it into the wall, and he kept it there.
“Well, well, Spider-man” the vulture said. “No so unstoppable now, huh?” He laughed, throwing his head back.
“What are we gonna do with you?” the symbiote hissed.
From the corner of his left, swollen eye, he thought he had seen an object levitating, but given his condition, he was probably hallucinating.
“Please” he whimpered, too beat up to form more words.
“Pleading, already?” Rhino mocked him.
“You will be pleading once I am done with you all” you said, standing behind them. Jess and Peter B accompanying you.
Each one of you took a target, getting them away from Miguel. You grabbed the vulture’s wings and threw him back, making him let go of Miguel.
Miguel fell to the ground, breathing heavily, putting a hand to his chest.
You rushed to his side, checking for serious injuries, but not seeing any major one.
“Hand in there Migs” you whispered, rubbing his shoulder lightly. “Once we are done I am taking you to the infirmary of HQ, no complaining, ‘kay?” you said sternly, before kissing his cheek and running to get the job back.
Not long after you were gone, Miguel passed out.
“I got him, I got him, thanks Jess” Miguel heard you say, and then he felt you placed him gently into a soft surface, presumably and infirmary bed.
Before slipping out of consciousness again, he heard some mumbling. Two people having a conversation, but he couldn’t make up the words. And then a meow. Was that a cat?.
Before he could give much thought to that, he passed out, yet again.
Miguel opened his eyes slowly. A ray of sunshine hitting him straight in the face through the semi-open curtains. He squinted, trying to get used to the light and make sense of where he was.
He rubbed his eyes slowly, noticing cables attached to his hands.
The sound of the heart machine giving him an idea of where he was.
He threw his head back, hitting the pillow and sighed. He hated being on the hospital, he dreaded it.
Looking to the side, expecting to see you sitting on a chair, he was met with a surprising sight.
A cat. A CAT??
What the hell is a cat doing in here? he thought, the only cat being able to roam the society being Spider-cat.
He frowned, watching how the unfamiliar animal slept peacefully, unaware that the person beside him, didn’t like him.
Once he heard the door open, he snapped his head towards it.
There you were, beautiful as always. You were too focus on the food tray on your hands to notice Miguel’s gaze.
“Hola hermosa”. he said groggily. (Hi beautiful)
The shock almost made you drop everything. Miguel giggled at the sight.
“Shit!” you exclaimed, balancing the food on your hands.
You rushed to place the tray on the table, before gently approaching your boyfriend, not wanting to startle him.
“Hi baby” you whispered, gently caressing his face, avoiding the various little scars that adorned it.
Miguel grabbed your wrist, nestling his face harder into the palm of your hand.
“Mmm” he mumbled, still too weak to have a long conversation.
You giggled, his sleepiness reminding you of the morning before he turned into a cat.
“You were out for a day.” you informed him, using your other hand to run your fingers through his messy pillow hair. You bent down, peppering the crown of his head with kisses, and then his other cheek. “Do you want food?” you asked
Miguel gently nodded into your hand, letting go of your wrist. His eyes fluttering open.
As you turned around, walking towards the tray, Miguel remembered the other living creature on the room.
“Whose cat is that?” he questioned.
As soon as the words left his mouth, Miguel saw you tense up, before quickly relaxing. You grabbed the tray of food, and turned.
Your gaze was fixated on the food on your hands, avoiding his. You looked guilty.
“Can you eat for yourself or you need help?” you mumbled, trying to change the conversation.
Miguel arched his eyebrow. “Don’t change the conversation darling. What’s the cat doing here?”
As in cue, the cat woke up, stretching his whole body on the chair.
You placed the tray on Miguel’s lap, before retracting your hands and playing with them, stretching the sleeves of your sweater.
“The food will get cold” you urged him.
Miguel kept looking at you, without breaking eye contact, while you were looking everywhere, except his eyes.
From the corner of his eye, he saw the caught move. Miguel turned his head towards him, watching the cat leap from the chair and land beside your feet.
He groomed himself a little, before sitting on his back legs and meowing right at you. He did that for a couple of seconds. You were trying to resist the urge to pet him and grab him, but that would make Miguel know he was yours.
Cheese, as you called him, grew tired of you not paying attention to him, so he stood up and rubbed his whole body on your legs, headbutting you repeatedly.
“Well,” Miguel said smirking. “that answers the question.”
You groaned, covering your face.
“I’m sorry” you said through your hands.
“So this is why you took so long?” Miguel questioned crossing his arms over his chest, wincing in pain at the action.
“Be careful.” you warned, concern lasing your voice. “And NO! How could you say that?” you defended yourself.
You reached down, grabbing the orange cat. He purred instantly, nestling himself in your chest. Miguel could already feel jealousy bubbling on his own.
“I just,” you began explaining yourself, walking slowly towards Miguel’s bed. “when you called, I was fighting my own Rhino. I admit it took longer than I expected, and I apologize for that. I took you for granted, I am so so sorry, I thought you could handle whatever it was for a few more minutes by yourself.” You bent down and kissed Miguel’s lips, slowly, trying to pour all your love into it. You pulled away slowly, your head resting against his. “Perdón mi vida.” (Sorry my life)
“It’s okay” Miguel whispered back.
“MEOOOWW” the cat squealed, clearly not being happy being squished between you too.
Miguel frowned again. He suspected that this wasn’t going to be the last time the cat was going to interrupt a nice moment between him and his girlfriend.
And it wasn’t
Despite Miguel’s complains, the cat stayed with you. You had explained how and where you had found him and how you were all he had in your world. Besides, you knew he couldn’t resist your puppy eyes, and you also reminded him of him agreeing back when he was a cat.
The only rule was that you couldn’t bring the cat to work, precisely, you couldn’t leave him alone with it.
Did you stick to your word? No, not at all. You honestly did what you pleased, and Miguel could only deal with it. To be honest, he would do and endure anything for you. How bad was dealing with a cat? There could be worse things.
Or that’s what he thought.
Cheese was a male orange cat, meaning, Miguel and him were constantly battling for your attention and affection. Again, for someone who claims he is not a cat… he sure acts like it when he needs to assert dominance.
For instance, there was a morning…
Miguel had stayed at your place, after you constantly begging him to take a break the night before. He gave in, not taking into account that that daemon was going to be accompanying you both.
With you, he was a saint. Always dropping on his back, exposing his fluffy stomach to you, begging you for pets, claiming all your undivided attention.
But once you left the room? The fight would begin. Miguel and him stared at each other, not breaking eye contact. Neither of them attempting to move, to cave in, to surrender.
“I brought food!” you sang, always smiling, unaware of the war taking place right in front of you.
Your two kitties snapped their heads towards you. Both jumping, standing on their feet to try to reach you first.
Thanks to his stature and long legs, Miguel managed to catch your attention first. He took his plate and that monsters food off your hands, placing his on the table beside him and the other quickly on the floor, before scoping you in his arms.
“Miguel!” you squealed, body flushed to his, arms wrapping around his neck.
Miguel swung you around, your feet not touching the ground. You giggled loudly, stomach hurting, throwing your head back.
Miguel took the opportunity to kiss your neck, producing even more happy sounds.
“Migss!” you laughed.
Your boyfriend stopped spinning around, and set you on your feet, giving you a tight hug. Your head on his chest and his on top of yours. Cheese was behind you, staring at the scene with an angry face.
Miguel noticed him and stuck his tongue out at him. Cheese bared his fangs in response, hissing. Miguel hissed back, also baring his fangs, clutching you harder.
“What was that?” you asked innocently.
“Nothing mi amor.” he answered quickly. (my love)
You squinted your eyes, being suspicious.
Cheese meowed behind you.
“He must not like his food” you said, trying to pull back from Miguel, but he pushed you against him harder.
“It is the same food from yesterday night.” he grumbled, clearly annoyed by the cat’s tactics to get your attention.
“Yes, but-”
“But nothing.” he cut you off. “He can eat by himself, while we enjoy our meal.”
You pouted, but accepted. You could sense someone was jealous. Even though you found it amusing, you knew not to push his buttons so harshly.
There was other time where Cheese was ‘not feeling good’ according to your words. You had been at home all day, taking care of your little poor kitty, when Miguel called you due to an ‘emergency’.
As you didn’t want to leave Cheese alone, you took him to HQ, much to Miguel’s dismay. As the mission on required you (because it was fricking simple, Miguel was only jealous of Cheese and he wanted your company, yours alone, but clearly you didn’t take the hint, or you did, but liked to tease him), you left Cheese to Miguel and Lyla.
“I remember telling you last time that I am not a babysitter” the AI complained, crossing her arms and staring at you through the top of her glasses that laid on the bridge of her nose.
“I knooow” you whined. “But hey! You took care of Miguel last time, how hard can a real cat be?” you said, trying to sound convincing.
“You do have a point.” she replied, resting her chin in her fist, thinking.
“I was not difficult.” Miguel huffed.
“Debatable.” Lyla said. “And also, if you take into account that it was Miguel as a cat, I say I did take care of a cat.”
“I am not a cat!” Miguel snapped.
Both you and Lyla laughed.
“Please take care of him, both of you.” you said, pointing at both of them. “He is not feeling that well. I left a note with his cares just in case here” you finished, placing a bag on Miguel’s desk.
Miguel side-eyed it, not happy with taking care of his arch nemesis, but he knew you would be pissed at him if he didn’t, and that would be a win for the cat. He couldn’t let that happen.
“Okay” he sighed, crossing his arms over his chest.
“Thank you Migss” you squealed, kissing him on the cheek. “Bye Cheese” you waved to the cat before opening a portal and exiting.
Silenced consumed the room. Lyla, sensing the tension, disappeared.
Miguel made eye contact with Cheese. They both immerse in an intense battle.
“Are you even sick?” Miguel asked, clearly losing his mind. Why the hell am I talking to a cat? he thought.
Cheese simply meowed, and then proceeded to groom himself.
Miguel shocked his head, he was clearly exhausted and out of his mind if he thought the cat could talk about. But he knew it! The cat had you wrapped around his little paw, and he was losing your attention.
Okay, find, he was probably exaggerating. Was he jealous of the cat? Yes, sure. Would he ever admit it to you? Not a chance. Would he even admit that the main reason why he is jealous is not the fact that maybe your attention is not solely on him anymore, but the fact that he thinks you got a cat because you miss taking care of him when he was a cat? Absolutely not.
It was not long ago he admitted to himself that he missed being a cat, and that he was in fact a cat. How could he not? He didn’t have to work, he could sleep however, whenever and wherever he wanted, he didn’t need to cook. All he had to do was be cute and wait for your pets, and cuddle with you. And, he would admit, that he liked being carried by you.
He liked being taller than you, and stronger. He could pick you up like you were a feather. But being smaller than you gave him a sense of comfort and sleeping on top of you, without crashing you, was amazing.
So yes, he was jealous of the cat because he could do all those things, and here he was, sitting on a chair, staring at screen flashing warning signs of anomalies, while fricking Cheese is sleeping on the floor, like nothing matters. The cat hadn’t shown any sign of being sick, he was an actor. They should give him an Oscar for this. But two could play that game.
In a blink of an eye, you were back at HQ. You made a quick stop in the cages to drop the anomaly off. You couldn’t believe Miguel called you for this. That was the emergency? Mayday could have catch this thing in a second. If you were ripped out of your house, at least you expected a good fight, that this one barely tickled you.
You sighed, entering Miguel’s office now. You barely made a sound, but thanks to Miguel’s heightened senses and training, he knew you were coming. Let the show begin he thought.
Miguel slumped over his desk, face down, arms covering it. He sighed loudly, trying to catch your attention before it was diverted to the cat laying a few meters away from him on the floor.
“I’m back Migs.” you said, approaching Miguel.
He simply sighed again, moving his whole body to accentuate his ‘fatigue’.
You frowned, not expecting to see your boyfriend like this. You left basically five minutes ago and he was fine.
“What’s wrong mi amor?” (my love) you said, gently rubbing circles on his shoulder.
Miguel simply groaned.
“You weren’t like this when I left.” you continued.
“Mmm” he simply replied.
Lyla appeared without making any sound, trying not to alert Miguel. She called your attention and once you looked up towards her and the screens, she wrote: ‘He is pretending, and so is your cat’
“What?” you mouthed.
Lyla simple shrugged and disappeared, leaving you with two ‘sick cats’.
What the hell? you thought. Why would they pretend to be… oh
It dawned on you. This two stupid kitties. From Cheese you could understand, he was merely a cat, but Miguel? Your silly grumpy boyfriend. You laughed to yourself. They want to pretend? Let’s see how amazing actors they are you thought.
“Are you sick Miggy?” you cooed at your boyfriend, bending down a little to be at eye level with him.
Miguel turned his head towards you, his cheek resting against his arm, squishing his face. He pouted.
“Mmm” he replied.
“Oh poor Miggy” you said, mirroring his pout. “Why don’t I take you and Cheese how, so I can cuddle you both and make you feel better.” you pecked Miguel’s cheek.
As you were pulling back, you saw in the corner of your eye how Miguel’s facade fell for a second, frowning. Clearly he wanted your attention completely, he didn’t count on sharing it with the cat.
He regained his pouty face, giving you puss in boots eyes. (is this even the equivalent to puppy eyes?? I didn’t want to put puppy eyes giving the fact that Miguel is a cat hahahaha)
He sniffed, ‘aggravating’ his state.
“Okay” he mumbled, clearly, he couldn’t tell you the cat was faking without blowing his cover.
“Okay” you whispered back, rubbing circles on his back. “Why don’t you take Cheese to my apartment, I’ll meet you there in a few.”
“I don’t know if I am strong enough” Miguel mumbled, trying to convince you to take him.
“Migs” you sighed straightening up. “I know you are feeling a little under the weather, but we can’t live the multiverse unattended, can we?” you questioned, resting your hands in your hips.
Shit, you are right Miguel thought.
“Maybe you are a little sicker than I thought if the multiverse isn’t on your mind” you smirked for a second, making Miguel frown. Where you catching on him?
“You go to my apartment, take Cheese. Leave the bag, I’ll take it later. I am going to look for Jess, and then I go” You pecked his cheek and off you were, sprinting out of the office.
Miguel huffed, he clearly didn’t think this plan through. He sat back on his chair, running his fingers throw his hair. Maybe this was going to be more difficult than he thought.
He lulled his head to the right, where the cat was still sleeping, unaware of what had just happened. Miguel sighed, knowing he had to pick up this monster, and that it wasn’t going to be happy about it. He wasn’t either.
He stood up and walked towards Cheese. Bending down, he stroke his fur, maybe a friendly approach would save him from scratches. Cheese purr a little, not knowing who was petting him. Even though Miguel didn’t really like him, he had to admit he was friendly, always asking everyone for pets.
Slowly, Cheese opened his eyes. As soon as they laid on Miguel he meowed loudly and jumped in the air, getting away from Miguel. Cheese hissed, his tail up and rigid.
“Hey!” Miguel said loudly, putting his hands up in defense. “I know you don’t like me, I don’t either. I don’t know if you understand, but your mama told me to take you home. If she walks through that door,” he pointed to his office’s door. “and sees us here, she’ll know we are full of bullshit, because you know and I know you aren’t sick. So quit being a pain in the ass and let me grab you.”
Cheese stood in his place, as did Miguel, both of them as statues, observing each other. Seconds went by, and Cheese relaxed. Maybe he does understand Miguel thought.
The cat walked carefully towards Miguel. Miguel bent down and picked him up, making Cheese meow loudly.
Once Miguel placed him in his arms, Cheese took his claws out, scratching Miguel a little.
“Ay mierda” he exclaimed. “Hey! Claws in, you don’t want me to take mine out” (Ay shit)
Cheese hissed at him, baring his fangs. Miguel did the same. Both stared at each other.
They could have stayed liked that for hours, but they were snapped of their state when they both heard your voice approaching, accompanied by someone else.
Miguel rushed to open a portal to your dimension and barely made it through when you entered the office. He could hear you talking and laughing with Jess, but he didn’t stay to not rise suspicions. He closed the portal and waited.
Meanwhile…
Jess laughed, grabbing her sides.
“Miguel is pretending to be sick?” she laughed, using her finger to take the tears out of her eye.
“I knoww” you said. “And my cat too. They are both so silly”
“It looks like they are competing for your attention”
You rolled your eyes. “It does look like it. I can understand it from Cheese. But Miguel could talk to me.”
“You know his forte isn’t opening up. You are lucky he told you he loved you.”
“Hey!! He has love in his heart. He just, he suffered a lot.” you pouted.
“I know, I know. I am messing with ya. But you should let him know that it is okay to be vulnerable sometimes. That is what partners are for. If we don’t trust them with our feelings, who then?” Jess explained.
“Yeah, you are right. After a mess with them a little I’ll tell him.”
“Good.”
“Thanks for this Jess. Promise I’ll make it up to you.” you said, going in for a hug.
“No problem girl.” she hugged you back, rubbing your back.
“Well, byeee.” you said, pulling back and opening a portal.
“Bye!” Jess said, waving at you.
Back at your apartment, Miguel decided to wait for you in your bed. He left Cheese on his bed, both of them not wanting to be nowhere near each other if not necessary.
You appeared from a portal, giving Miguel just the right seconds to get back into character. He covered his head with an arm, blocking the light.
“Ohh Migs. Still feeling bad?” you cooed, sitting next to him on the bed and rubbing his chest gently.
Miguel nodded.
“Do you want food?”
Miguel nodded again.
“Okay”
Miguel felt the bed move when you stood up and heard the shuffle of your feet walking away.
You stopped right in front of Cheese’s bed and dropped to the floor.
“How is my little baby” you said pouting, scoping Cheese gently and petting him.
Cheese meowed and headbutted you.
“You want cuddles huh?” you smirked, looking back at Miguel, checking if he was listening. “What do you say if I take you to the kitchen and we cook Papa’s food together?” you kissed the top of his head.
Miguel groaned behind you.
“You are his Papa, whether you like him or not.” you explained, talking to Miguel.
Miguel groaned again, this time not only because of what you said, but because you were going to cuddle with Cheese while he had to pretend to be sick. This plan was biting him in the ass.
You stood up and walked out of the room, shutting the room to not disturb Miguel.
After an hour or so, you finished Miguel’s soup. If you were being honest, you didn’t cuddle Cheese at all, it is difficult to cook with a cat in your arms. Besides, you called his bullshit. You knew he was a smart cat, and really cuddly, so little did you know he could pull a stunt like this.
But, to continue to tease Miguel a little further, you placed Cheese on your shoulders and tried to balance him and the tray of food in your hands. You walked towards your bedroom slowly, for one, to not drop the food and two to see if you could catch Miguel red handed, which would be unlikely, he could hear everything.
Opening the door was a real challenge. Once you were able to do so, you peeked your head through. Miguel was spread out on the bed over his stomach, snoring lightly. You pouted. Maybe he wasn’t really sick, but he was for sure tired.
You opened the door further. You walked into the room trying to not make any noise. Cheese jumped off your shoulder and landed carefully on the floor, next to his bed. You walked further and placed the tray on the table next to your bed, giving your back to Miguel.
“Baby?” Miguel said groggily.
Your turned around startled.
“Migs” you whispered, moving towards him. “Did I wake you up?”
Miguel shook his head, rubbing his eyes with the back of his hand, pouting.
You sat on the bed slowly, stroking his back.
“Do you want to eat?” you asked.
He shook his head again.
“I have to tell you something” he began, avoiding your eyes. “I-” he closed his mouth, he couldn’t find the words. He didn’t want to admit what he had done.
You giggled before kissing his cheek and then shoulder.
“It’s okay Migs, I know”
“You know?” he said, opening his eyes.
“Yeah, I had my suspicions, but then Lyla confirmed them.”
“Lyla” Miguel groaned, planting his face back on the pillow.
You laughed. He was such a baby. You ran your fingers through his messy curls, massaging his scalp. You stood up, making him turn his head towards you. You pulled back the covers and climbed into bed with him.
“You know,” you began, using your thumb to move the hair out of his face. “you don’t have to pretend to be sick to have my attention.”
Miguel looked down, avoiding your eyes.
“Hey” you whispered, putting a finger under his chin so he would look at you. “I’m sorry if you feel like I am not paying enough attention to you. I know I have been a lot with Cheese, and I am sorry.” you kissed his forehead, moving your hands to play with the hairs on the back of his head and resting your forehead in his. “But you have to tell me how you feel too, si amor?” (yes love?)
He nodded, gently nestling his nose with yours. You smiled.
“I’m sorry for calling you up for an emergency when there wasn’t any and for pretending to be sick” he said.
“It’s okay.” you mumbled, beginning to feel sleepy. “It serves as an excuse to rest for a day, and you too mister. You aren’t going to HQ again.”
Miguel smiled. “I wasn’t planning to.”
You yawned, rubbing your eyes. You smiled at Miguel and rubbed behind his ears and under his chin. Maybe it was your sleepy state, but it seemed like he liked it and you thought you heard him purr.
At last, Miguel moved to rest on top of you, his head on your chest. You played with his hair, listening to his breathing, luring you to sleep. Cheese jumped on the bed and climbed on top of Miguel’s back, loafing up and closing his eyes.
With one hand you stroked Cheese and with the other you played with Miguel’s hair.
In the end, both your kitties were happy.
THE END or is it??
Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Bonus (Part2)
I honestly love how this mini series turned out. Given that I couldn't put some dialogue I wanted in this, maybe I'll edit it later, and then repost it hahahaha. Anyway, hope you liked it!!! If you want to be tagged in the bonuses or you have requests about this "series' universe" if you'll like to call it that haha, let me know!!! I am happy to write more about this.
I honestly feel like every story I write is in a different universe, or well, that's what I think. So this is the kitty universe hahaha
summary: The events of the Kitty Miggy series but from the world's best cat, Miggy himself. Deep dive into Miguel's thoughts (was it him acting this way or the cat instincts taking over?)
word count:7.8 k
warnings: Miguel x Spider!Reader (and fem reader), mentions of some minor injuries, pure fluff
disclaimer 1: This is the end of part 1 and all of part 2 from Miguel's POV. You don't have to read them (i think) in order to understand this, but I would advice it.
disclaimer 2: I use italics to signal Miguel's thoughts and also his dialogue. Obviously, as a cat, he doesn't really says what he thinks. The dialogues are in air quotes, but to make it easier:
thoughts are in red
"dialogue" in pink
Part 1 Part 2 Part 3
Bonus
When the Lizard sent you flying across the battlefield, Miguel’s heart stopped. You landed pretty far, but even then, he saw how you hit your head on the floor pretty badly.
His heart and his mind were screaming at him to go get you, check if you were right, but he needed to finish this. He needed to defeat the Lizard, to protect everyone, but mainly to you.
He charged towards the Lizard with one only thought on his mind, keeping him away from you. No matter what happened, he wouldn’t let him harm you even further. He was seeing red, his primal instincts kicking in.
Despite his stamina, he was getting tired. The Lizard was fast and the constant leaping around trying to dodge the weapon’s beam was taking a toll on his body. The only thing keeping him from giving up was you.
His punches were becoming slower, weaker, his mind constantly switching between processing what was in front of him and thinking of you. For a split second, the thought of you won. He turned in your general direction. He watched you stand up, wobbling a little, clearly disorientated from the hit on your head.
His body relaxed, you were okay. He sighed. Miguel felt like he could breath again, the pressure on his chest dissipating. Seeing you alive made Miguel forget what he was in the middle off. When his mind flashed red alerting him, it was already too late.
The Lizard grabbed Miguel by his torso. He tried to fight back, wiggling himself from his hold, kicking and punching but with no use. The Lizard threw him with all his strength. Miguel flew back, hitting a wall with his back and head, making him dizzy. He dropped to the floor on his stomach, part of the wall and cardboard falling on him, aggravating the pain of his back side.
“Miguel!” he heard, despite the ringing of his ears.
He could move. His whole body was aching. Don’t pass out, not now, he thought, but it was no use. His body was too weak, to tired. He could feel blood gushing out of the back of his head. His sight was filled with black spots. The last thing he heard before passing out was the Lizard’s weapon being fired.
Miguel opened his eyes slowly after what felt like an hour. His whole body was aching, still under the gravel. He stretched himself slowly, trying to mentally check what was hurting. Thankfully, his super healing had worked already, and everything seemed normal.
“Mig” he heard you say, barely above a whispered. He heard a thud near him and crying. Why were you crying? He was alive, he was moving. Couldn’t you see that?
Miguel couldn’t see much, the cardboard on top of his head covering the source of light, but despite the gravel on top of him, you should be able to see him, or at least he thought. He was a tall man, 90% of the time you could see him towering on top of the crowd, it wasn’t easy to hide his complex.
As he lifted his paw to push away the cardboard in front of him… Wait, PAW?! he thought. The things on top of him moved, letting a little ray of sunshine shine through, letting him see more clearly. He looked down, seeing a blue paw. Then his gaze went to his chest: blue and red fur was covering.
¿Pero qué carajo? he thought. (What the fuck?) And then he remembered. Before passing out, he heard the weapon going off. He assumed the Lizard was aiming at you, but he aimed at him, and now, he was an animal. From what it looked like, a cat. Oh, God, you were going to teased him endlessly.
His train of thought was disrupted by the sound of your sobs. Now he knew you couldn’t see him. His usual 6’9’’ body now reduce to more than half. He needed to get out of here, he needed to let you know he was alive. With each wrenched sound leaving your mouth, his now little heart ached.
He pushed aside every piece of cardboard and paper on top of him. He walked in the direction your cries were coming from. When he stepped out on the light, he was confused. The sun was directly in front of him, hurting his now more sensible eyes. Furthermore, he was in a strange body. He needed time to understand how it worked.
Miguel stretched himself out. Finally, there was nothing pressuring his body. He looked around, searching for you, until he found your legs. You were towering a few centimeters away from him, the sight so absurd and strange to him. Usually, it was the other way round.
You looked at him wide eyed, clearly not knowing it was him. For you, he probably looked just like any cat. Miguel walked carefully towards you, stopping just in front of your feet and sitting down, gazing up at you.
Despite your wet cheeks and messy hair from the fight, you were a goddess. God, am I lucky he thought. From this position, he could admire you for hours, but he needed to let you know it was him.
”Darling, it is me” but all it came out was a meowed.
You still looked confused.
“Do you want me to pick you up?” it was all you said.
”Amor soy yo!” he tried again, but again, the only sound that got out was a meowed. (Love, it is me!). How I hate being a cat he thought. This clearly isn’t working, I have to do other thing.
He rubbed himself on your legs. Oh, this feels nice he thought.
“Okay, okay buddy” you said. He felt you put your hands around him and lift him up. I didn’t want this he thought.
“There you go, bud” you mumbled. You were now looking down at him. You began swaying your body from left to right. Does she think I am a baby? Miguel thought. I don’t like this, but against his will, he began purring. Clearly, he did like it. He closed his eyes, enjoying being in your arms like this for once. It wasn’t everyday were you could pick him up with ease and cradle him.
“I wish Mig could see you” he heard you say, making him open his eyes. I AM MIGUEL WOMAN he thought. Honestly, how many blue cats have you seen around? He frowned, trying to make you think.
“What?” you asked.
”It is me!” Miguel meowed and trill, headbutting your chin.
He pulled back, just as your face shifted between being confused and coming into realization.
“Miggy?” you asked.
Finally! Miguel thought. He purred and headbutted your chin again.
“MIGGYYY” you squealed, shifting to hold Miguel from his front legs, stretching him at his full height in front of you. “I told you you were a kitty” you said.
You did not just say that. Miguel hissed, showing you his fangs.
“Oh, I am so sorry darling” you said, pulling Miguel closed to your body and kissing his head multiple times. Oh, this feels good he thought while purring. You better be sorry.
“Let’s get you back at HQ, hmm?” you said “Let’s find a way to revert this thing”
Miguel opened his eyes and pulled a little back from your body, seeing how you opened a Portal and throwing the Lizard inside. You hugged Miguel close to your chest and crossed the threshold.
As you stepped on Miguel’s office with him in your arms, it was quite. Oh, thank god he thought. One thing was you teasing him about this, but other was hearing about it from the other Spider-people. He could tolerate you, he couldn’t say the same for the others.
“Okay Migs” you said. “I am going to take this anomaly to the cages, so it can be shipped off, okay?”
Miguel purred, signaling he was okay with it.
You walked towards Miguel’s platform. You sat him down in his chair, and looked at him.
“Don’t touch anything Miggy” you said sternly. I’ll touch what I want, it it my office.
“You are a cat right now, so you could mess things up.” Mess things up? I’m pretty sure I am more capable of doing things like this than 50% of the spiders working here.
You petted Miguel on the head. He watched you start to walk off when Lyla appeared.
Oh no, this isn’t good.
“There you are!” she greeted. “Where have you been? I thought you said this was going to be easy. The lizard isn’t that hard.”
Yeah, well, maybe you should have seen the weapon he was carrying.
“Excuse me?” you said, putting a hand in your chest and widening your eyes, looking right at Miguel. He got the message, you didn’t want him to move. Got it. He could do that.
“Why don’t you try it yourself, missy?” you taunted, locking eyes with Lyla.
“I can’t, remember?” she replied, placing her holographic hands in her waist. “I am merely an AI. There is not much I can do.” Clearly yapping isn’t something off your limits. Maybe I should reprogrammed her.
“Yeah well, so keep the catching of the anomalies for the professionals then.” You finished, crossing your arms over your chest and turning around.
“Where is Miguel?” she asked, making you stop in your tracks. Oh fuck
“Oh, ah-” you stuttered, turning around while scratching the back of your neck. “He, he is… umm.. taking the anomaly to the cages! Yeah, that” you said, pointing at Lyla with a triumph smile in your face.
Really babe? That’s all you could think? Miguel facepalmed internally. This wasn’t going to end well.
“You mean, the anomaly behind you?” Told ya
“Oh!” you said, turning to look at the anomaly and back at her. “He must have forgotten it. You know, it was a really difficult fight. I am tired, he is tired, everyone is tired” you emphasized, moving your arms so quickly that it looked like you wanted to fly away.
“Miguel is never tired” Lyla replied, lowering her glasses over her nose.
I beg to differ. I WAS tired. I am also tired of you talking, for example, all the time. And after other things…
“Well, he is now” you said, crossing your arms over your chest. “I think I know my boyfriend.” Awww I love you.
“Girl” Lyla said, before disappearing and materializing right in front of you. “I know Miguel, and I know you. What are you hiding?”
“Nothing!” you said, way to abruptly, making Miguel cringe.
Lyla stopped talking for a second. Miguel from the angle he was sitting at, couldn’t see what was happening.
“You know, you are an awful liar.” Lyla sighed. That I can agree with.
“I am NOT lying.”
“So, who is this cat?” she questioned, transporting herself right were Miguel was. Oh no, for God’s sake.
“Oh that?” you said, trying to sound uninterested. “It is just a stray that I found on the street.” I look to good to be a stray.
“Then, why does he have Miguel’s colors?” Lyla kept pressing. Oh my God Lyla, can’t you just shut up?
“Omg Lyla, I don’t know, okay?” you replied, clearly you were getting frustrated. Miguel knew that if Lyla kept pressing, you were going to break down, tears were going to spill out of your pretty eyes. “He just seemed cute, so I grabbed him.” Who are you calling cute?
“And Miguel was okay with this?” Not really no
“Yes!!” Excuse you?
“Okay” she replied.
“Thank you!” you exclaimed.
You turned around and stepped out of the platform, walking towards the anomaly.
Miguel starred at your back and then at Lyla, who was eyeing him up and down. He stared at her, without making any sound. In a blink of an eye, Lyla took out her holographic phone and took a picture of Miguel. Oh you did not!
Miguel hissed at her jumping towards the AI, trying to catch her. He didn’t know what came over him, but he needed to catch her. He couldn’t do it, Lyla disappeared and transported far away from him.
Thankfully, despite being in this body for under an hour, his instincts kicked in. He knew how to control this body. Maybe his mind was morphing into one of a cat. He landed gracefully on his feet and kept chasing after Lyla. Jumping and hissing all over the place.
Miguel could hear you shouting on the distance, but he was too focused on his prey.
“Aha!” Lyla said, between transportations. “I knew you were lying.”
Miguel heard you answer back, but his attention was totally on the AI. His prey had stopped, distracted. This was his opportunity.
Miguel crouched down, eyes locked on the AI. He moved slowly, not wanting to gain attention. His butt moved from left to right, positioning his legs on the right position to attack.
Lyla looked at you. “Why not?” she said.
NOW! Miguel thought. In a split second, Miguel ran at full speed and leaped towards the small figure on the air. Obviously, his rational part wasn’t thinking, because clearly he knew Lyla didn’t have a corporeal body, but the cat brain didn’t. Miguel flew past Lyla, going through her, which destabilized him.
He thought cats always landed on their feet. Well, he wasn’t a good cat then. He couldn’t react as the surface of the table became closer to his face. He landed face first, really roughly.
“Miguel!” he heard you shout, despite of the pain. “Are you okay?”
”No” he meowed, slowly. Mierda, this hurts.
Miguel felt you grabbed him slowly, avoiding his head.
“Shhh it is okay baby.” you cooed at him. “I told you to be careful.”
Well yeah, when do I ever listen?
You began stroking his fur, which calmed him down, and rocking him like a baby. This feels nice he thought, while purring. You kissed his head and then nestled his nose with yours. I could get use to this.
Miguel had his eyes closed, enjoying the moment, but it was interrupted by the sound of Lyla taking another picture. He snapped his head towards her, and tried to get out of your grasp. ”Let me go grab her” he hissed, and showed his fangs.
He heard you scream at Lyla, but he was blind with anger. Once again, the cat brain was taking control, blinding his judgement. Miguel was fighting hard against you, wiggling, kicking and tossing around, but you weren’t giving in.
Completely forgetting who was grasping him, Miguel took out his claws, scratching away, not caring who he hurt. It worked, because he was dropped to the ground rapidly, but in that split second, he remembered it was you. He turned around, looking at you. Your arms and hands were fulled with cats, your suit torn. The cuts on it made your skin visible, red and full of blood.
Oh no, what have I done? Miguel worked slowly towards you and rubbed his whole body against you. ”I’m sorry my love.” he meowed.
You stepped back. You clearly were hurt. Miguel sat in his back legs, giving you sad eyes. I’m really sorry.
You closed your eyes, and took deep breathes. After a couple of seconds, you began lecturing Lyla about not spreading the photos he had taken of Miguel. Lyla fought back a little, but she understood.
You explained your plan to get Miguel back to normal, which involved Miguel staying alone with Lyla for a couple of minutes. I don’t think that’s a good idea, to be honest. he thought.
You called him over. Miguel walked towards you and stretched himself putting his paws on you, aiming to get you to pick him up. He really liked being in your arms. He succeeded. You grabbed him and cradled him. I love you he thought staring at you, before licking your arms slowly, trying to get you to feel better, like he always did when you were hurt. He always kissed you to make you forget.
It didn’t really work, he forgot his tongue was now rough and he was hurting you more than actually helping you. You told him to stay safe, before kissing his head multiple times and then placing him on the desk. You left quickly, leaving him alone with his kitty thoughts.
These couple of hours took a toll on him because he was exhausted. He stretched himself before turning in circles trying to get comfortable. A couple of minutes of sleep wouldn’t get anyone. he thought, before loafing up and falling to sleep.
Miguel woke up after what felt like an hour. He stretched himself, shaking trying to regain full consciousness. He looked around confused. His office was quite. Weird. He thought you would be working by now. He turned to look at his screens, the hour saying it has being 3 hours since you left to get the Lizard back home. Where were you?
He started meowing none stop, trying to get Lyla’s attention. He cried and cried but the AI didn’t appeared until 10 minutes later.
“What is wrong with you?” Lyla said, rolling her eyes.
”Where is y/n” he meowed.
“What? Are you hungry?” she cooed, clearly teasing him.
”You are annoying, you know that?” Miguel hissed. I am one hundred percent changing her code once I am back to normal.
“What do you want kitty?” she teased, again and again.
Miguel was done with it. He crouched down, wiggling his butt before leaping at her. He now knew he wasn’t going to catch her, but he wanted to scare her. This time, he fell on his feet and continued running all around the office. Jumping over desks, pushing away everything on his path.
He reached the main door, scratching it none stop, trying to open it. "Lyla! open this damn thing!" he meowed, but clearly Lyla didn’t listen.
After minutes without succeeding, his mind was running. He was worried something had happened to you. He didn’t know where you were. You clearly weren’t in HQ anymore, you couldn’t take 3 hours to take the anomaly home. Where were you?
He ran around the office thinking, overworking himself, incapable of standing still when you could be in danger. He leaped towards his platform, reaching his desk. He tried to use the screen to find you, to locate you using your watch, but his paws didn’t work, they slide across the screen without clicking anything.
He gave up and used his nose. Maybe that would work. It didn’t
He whined, meowed, cried out. He needed you, he missed you. He didn’t know if it was his rational brain or the kitty brain that got used to your pets and you holding him.
He slumped himself on the desk, defeated. In cat form there is nothing he can do. Even if he could find where you were and if you were in danger, he would probably make matters worse for you, because you would try to keep him safe instead of yourself.
I hate being a cat.
Just as he was losing hope, he heard a portal opening to his left. He got up quickly and turned to it. As it opened completely, you stepped out of it. AMOOR he thought while leaping towards you, without spearing a thought.
It caught you off guard. You were able to catch him, but you fell on your butt.
“What on Earth are you doing?” you asked, clearly hurt.
“I missed youu” Miguel meowed.
“Don’t act innocent you little kitty” you said. “When I left you were sleeping, what the hell happened.”
“He woke up and when he realized you weren’t here he went crazy” Lyla explained, appearing over your left shoulder, with all her clothes out of place.
“And let me guess, he started chasing you.”
“She wasn’t helping me” Miguel hissed at Lyla and started wiggling in your grasp, but you didn’t budge. Let me goo
“That would be correct” she said, before glitching and fixing her appearance. “I would recommend that you wake him up next time, I am not a babysitter.”
“I am NOT a baby” Miguel snarled.
“Stop it you two” you said. “Your bickering is cute and fun when we are in normal circumstances, which we are not right now, so please, can you two get along for a couple of hours until I figure this out?”
“Whatever” Lyla shrugged and then disappeared. Miguel looked at you, trying to give his best puss in boots eyes.
“I am talking to you too mister, doesn’t matter how cute you are” I am NOT cute! you handled Miguel so you could cradle him in your arms and expose his belly. What are you doing?
And then, you began tickling his belly.
“STOOOP” Miguel meowed, trying to push your hand away with his legs. You just laughed. How dare you do this to me?
“Want me to stop? Mmm” you cooed at him, scratching under his chin.
“Yes please!” Miguel growled at you. Even though this feels good
“Then let me work in peace, or I’ll keep you this way.”
“Don’t you dare” He snarled at that.
You giggled to yourself, and stood up with Miguel still in your arms. You walked to his chair and placed him there. You kissed him in his head, which made him headbutt you, so you kissed him again, and again, and again.. until he turned around, putting his tail right in your mouth. The kisses felt good, but he wanted to be out of this body by tomorrow. So you needed to work.
As soon as you started to work, Miguel passed out.
Miguel woke up from his second nap that day. He hadn’t slept so much since…. To be fair, he didn’t remember when was the last time he had so much free time. He stretched himself on the chair, taking his claws out and scratching the leather a little.
He sat on his back legs, a little disorientated, still sleepy. How the hell am I still tired?. Miguel yawned and began grooming himself without realizing. He spent a good minute doing until his brain made him aware. What the hell am I doing? he thought. The longer I spend like this, the more a cat I become?
He couldn’t give much thought to it, because he got distracted with his stomach grumbled. When was the last time he had a meal?
Miguel turned to the screens, the clock showing 1:58 a.m. Behind him, he could still hear you working. He would usually stay awake past this hour, but you always got your 8 hours of beauty sleep. You were probably exhausted, and more importantly, he wanted food.
He jumped off the chair and then platform and made his way towards you slowly, without you noticing. Miguel hopped on the desk you were working on. “I am hungry” he meowed.
“Hi Migs” you said, sleepily. “How was that nap?” you continued, not looking at him anymore, but resuming your work.
How dare she?. Miguel, aiming to get your attention, walked towards you and headbutted your hand, the one grabbing the tool. He wanted you to stop working, to pay attention to him, to feed him. He needed food, it was all he wanted. His rational side was dissipating by the second, the cat inside of him taking over.
You continued working, without paying attention to him. “Hey” he growled. He was getting moody with his stomach empty. “Pay attention to meee” he drawn out a meow.
Your focus was still in the machine, sticking your tongue out in concentration. Oh, you want to play like this? Sure, I can play this game he thought. Miguel sat next to you, acting innocent, but watching you attentively.
He licked his paw, seeming uninterested, but in reality, he was waiting for the moment to attack. His rational side just wanted to knock the screwdriver out of your hand, but his natural instinct had other plans. When the timed arrived, when you moved your hand away from the machine, Miguel jumped towards it. Instead of biting the screwdriver, he bit your your hand.
He succeeded. You had dropped the tool, but as a result, you were pissed and hurt. Despite all his efforts to make you look at him for more than a split second, you continued working.
Really? Not even THAT worked? he thought.
“I’M HUNGRYY” Miguel howled loudly.
“Miguel” you hissed, making him snapped his head towards you. Finally. “Someone could hear, can you stay quiet please?” Not finally
Miguel scowled at you. He was losing his patience, and the kitty brain taking over wasn’t helping the situation.
Without even thinking, he looked at the screwdriver at his feet and started pushing it, gazing directly at you, without breaking eye contact.
“Miguel NO” you said sternly, but he didn’t care. You were going to pay attention to him one way or another.
He kept tapping the screwdriver, each push taking it closer to the edge.
“Miguel” you warned again. You two locked eyes again. You clearly wanted him to stop, but it was too late. His human brain wasn’t thinking anymore, and his cat brain wanted food, immediately. If this was the only way of getting it, so be it.
Miguel looked at you dead in the eyes and pushed the tool all the way through. Oopps he thought.
The screwdriver fell and made a loud noise, echoing across the empty office.
“That’s it” you said, dropping the tools and gloves you had on. “What do you want?”
FINALLY
Clearly, you weren’t reading his meows well enough, so he choose to use his body. He walked towards you and headbutted your stomach. If you didn’t get that message, he would die.
You looked confused for a second, but then you realized.
“Oh my god.” you cried, covering your mouth with your hands. “You are hungry.”
“YESS” he meowed.
“Oh Miggyyy” you whispered, grabbing him and cradling him in your arms. “I am so so sorry.” Yeah, you better be. You kissed his head. Miguel purred, he really liked your kisses. Then you hugged him. Yeah yeah, I really love your display of affection. But I want food.
“Okay, what if we go to my universe, hmm?” you asked. “I know a supermarket near my apartment that sells cat things, and then we go to my home and we sleep a little. What do you say?”
“Yeah, yeah, whatever you want amor” Miguel purred. “But hurryy” he meowed.
And then you left.
You left Miguel home alone, not before warning him not to get in trouble. How does she think I am? he thought.
He had been in your home before, but this time it was different. Every single time, your things seemed small, he could barely fit in your apartment. But now? everything seemed huge. He stared in awe for a minute before daring to move.
He walked carefully at first, not wanting to mess anything up. That was his plan, his meaning Miguel’s normal brain’s plan. The cat brain had another. He felt an urged to ran all around and climbed everything, even the walls. So he did.
He jumped on the couch, the dining table, the kitchen counters. He almost knocked off the base with flowers on it, but he couldn’t really care. Your house was a new playground. Between jumps, he rubbed himself on each surface, marking it as his. He left a lot of hairs on the couch. Problem for you, not him.
He noticed your bedroom door was opened, so he entered. Your bed was neatly made, and it looked so soft. He jumped on it, bouncing off. As in the couch, he rubbed himself off, leaving hairs. He sprawled on the blanket. All the running made him tired, and his stomach was still empty.
He was dozing off waiting for you, until he heard your keys on the door. He jumped right up, running to meet you. Once he saw you opened the door he started meowing. Not really thinking of anything, but he just really missed you, and he was just really hungry. Besides, he could smell the food on the bags you were carrying.
You placed the bags on the counter. Miguel jumped to it, smelling each bag. One of them had his food, and he was going to get it.
Aha! Found it! he thought, diving right into the bag, before being rudely pulled out by you. “Noo!! Let me go” he cried, wiggling on your arms. He continued wiggling and trying to push you off with his feet. Were you always this strong?
You placed him on one of your arms while you fixed his food. As soon as you dropped the plate on the floor and let him go, he dived right into the food. He stuffed his mouth full with the cat food and the tuna.
“I’m sorry Miggy, I forgot about the food” he thought he heard you say, but he didn’t pay much attention to it, his only focus on the food in front of him. He heard you shuffle on the kitchen, probably grabbing the stuff to make your own food. But who cares, he certainly didn’t.
After what felt like 5 minutes, Miguel finished his food. He licked his face, trying to scoop up all the rest of the food available. Then his paw to clean himself.
He sniffed the air. There was something smelling really well. He watched you move yourself around the kitchen, he loved your food. He hopped on the counter next to you. Hmm, empanadas. This is good he thought, sniffing the filling closer.
He tried to act innocent again. Maybe he would eat a little when you are not paying attention. He groomed himself, licking all his paws and legs carefully, never missing a spot. Right as he was finished, he saw you rushed off.
This was his chance. He turned to the stove, and there they were. Perfectly made empanadas. Problem, all the filling was used, and the empanadas were still raw. Dammit
What do I do, what do I do. She’s going to come back any second he thought. Maybe if a use my paws…. He placed his one of his paws harshly in one of the empanadas. It didn’t break, the only thing that he had done was leave a print on the dough. Shit
He jumped down from the counter and ran towards your bathroom. If I act cute she won’t be mad. Miguel scratched the door and started meowing, trying to make you open the door. You opened the door, looking confused. Miguel just stared at you with big, round eyes. You smirked. Why is she smirking? Does she know? he thought, knowing that you could read him like a book, but maybe in his cat form it would be different.
You shook your head smiling and crouched down to pick him up. Once in your arms, you kissed him. “You’ve become really needy in this past couple of yours” you said. “Maybe I should keep you like this a little longer”.
“NOO, don’t you dare” Miguel hissed.
You began scratching him behind his ears, calming him down. “Oh, this feels good” he purred.
Still carrying him in your arms, you walked towards the kitchen. There was no hiding his art.
“This is why you are acting so cute?” you questioned, extending your arms towards the tray so he could see what he had done.
Miguel turned his head to look at you, tucking his tail between his legs. “I’m sorry” he meowed slowly, blinking, giving you his most adorable eyes. It worked, because you just laughed.
After you were done cooking, eating and cleaning, with obviously taking breaks to pet Miguel, because he requested to be loved constantly, you were ready for bed. You did your night routing, as Miguel gazed at you thinking how beautiful you were, and that, despite being exhausted, you looked like an angel.
You climbed into bed and Miguel followed you, wanting to cuddle. And liked that, you both fell asleep next to each other.
When Miguel woke up the next morning, you were still sleeping. Considering that you went to sleep around 4 in the morning, he didn’t want to wake you up. He untangled himself from your hold the best he could, and stretched himself in the bed. Looking around, he tried to find a clock to see what time it was, but couldn’t find any. Your phone and gizmo where on the living room. He saw you placed them down on the table the earlier that day, you hadn’t brought them into your room.
He hopped off the bed, landing quietly. Trotting over to the door, he found it closed. Great
He scratched the door quietly, trying to open it, but failed. Miguel looked around the bedroom again, trying to find an escape, but everything seemed closed.
That’s when he got the genius idea to climb into your vanity and jumped towards the door handle, so he could open the door. So he did. As stealthy as possible, he jumped into the furniture and prepared for the big jump. He had to have good aim, because if he missed it, his head was smashing directly into the door. He wiggled his butt, angling himself right and flexing his back legs.
When he jumped, he knew he was on the right track. The handle was fast approaching. Miguel prepared himself to pull it down. He landed flatly on the handle and succeeded on pulling it down, but he had a lot of speed, making him fall to the ground rapidly and causing the door not to open, given that he did not only have to pull the handle down, but also bend backwards a little to open it.
The noise he had made would have woken everyone. Everyone except you of course. He knew you were a heavy sleeper, but he didn’t know how you could sleep through the mess he just made.
Minutes went by and Miguel was getting hungry. He didn’t want to wake you up, but he needed to. Besides, you also had to finish the machine to turn him and the other universe back to normal. He didn’t know if he could handle being a cat for another day, or worse, he didn’t know if staying as a cat for much longer could have long term consequences, like becoming a cat completely.
He shook his head, trying to get the idea out of his mind. NO, that can’t happen. I have to wake her up he thought. So, he jumped back into the bad, crawling slowly towards you. He walked over your chest to reach your face. You were sleeping peacefully, looking like a princess. He almost felt bad for what he was about to do. Almost.
He looked at his paw, considering his plan of action. This is the only way he thought. He lifted his paw and hit you on the nose, not too hard, but also hard enough to wake you. Miguel watched you open your eyes startled, so he began purring and giving you kissed all over your face to calm you down, and also for making up for waking you up. And, his legs and paws were doing something weird on your chest. They were needing your breasts. How was this called? Biscuits? Yeah, sounds about right. But it seemed you liked it.
“Migueellll” you groaned, but quickly after you giggled.
“Morning hermosa” Miguel meowed, before flopping on your chest looking for cuddles. You were super warm, and he wanted a hug. Rudely, you decided to sit up, making him slide off you.
“Heyy” he growled.
“If you wake me up, you can’t expect to receive cuddles mister” you said, getting out of the bed and going into the bathroom. Fair enough Miguel though, following your path. He wanted to be as close to you as possible. He jumped on the sink and watched you. He wished he had more time during his normal days to do this, just, gaze at you, admire you, pepper you with love.
He knew you knew he loved you, but sometimes he wished he could show it to you more. He was so lucky to have a woman like you by his side. Despite all his flaws, you loved him. You were his little princess (or maybe he should say big, given that he was the little on now), and he would do anything to make you happy.
After your morning routine, you two had breakfast and got ready to go to HQ. When you arrived through the portal, it seemed quiet. The lights on the platform were on, but he didn’t remember whether you had left them like that last night, but he didn’t really care. You walked towards his chair and sat him down on it, leaving the bag with his things on the table.
All of a sudden, Miguel heard a noise coming from behind him, and it seemed you had heard it too. You looked back, alarmed. You scanned the office with your eyes, before signaling to him to stay hidden. Miguel honestly didn’t want to. If the something was dangerous, he wanted to protect you, but he knew that in cat form, he wasn’t menacing at all. He was a nuisance more than help.
Besides, it could also be a Spider-person, and he didn’t want anyone to see him like this. Having Lyla already know was enough. If someone like Peter B found out, it would be the death of him. He would never hear the end of it, he would have to deal with a thousand of jokes and teases, making his job ten times worse.
You had stepped out of the platform, moving away from Miguel’s sight. He could hear your footsteps walking slowly away from him and towards your working station. He was nervous, and so were you, given your irregular breathing.
“Surprise!!” he heard, making him tense up. That was Peter B. No, no no
“AHHH” you shouted. You breath rapidly, clearly he scared you.
“My god Peter!” you exclaimed, almost out of breath. “You almost killed me.”
Miguel heard not only Peter B laugh, but also Mayday. Great, this is getting worse by the second
“I’m sorry” Peter said. “I was just waiting for the big guy, when I noticed this thing on the workspace. Is this what Miguel is working on?” he asked. Me? Working on something? What did you tell everyone to stop them from barging in into his office?
“Oh! That?” you said. “Yeah, yeah. That’s Miguel’s.”
“So, where is he?”
“Where is who?”
“Miguel?”
“Ah” you exclaimed. Clearly, you were caught off guard, because you took a couple seconds to answer. “He is, uhmm, he is taking a break, yeah” Again with this? What makes you think it is going to work when it didn’t work with Lyla? Miguel thought, covering his head with his front paws.
“Miguel, tired?” he heard Peter ask.
“Well, not really” you answered. “I made him take a nap. But anyways” That is more believable. “What are you doing here? I thought I told Jess no one was allowed.” you questioned back.
“Yes, I know” Peter said. “I just wanted to leave Mayday with you. I have a mission and you know Miguel doesn’t like when I take her. ” You are right, I don’t. But today would have been a good day to not follow my orders. Why today Parker?? he wanted to growl, but he stopped himself.
“I’m really glad you trust me with her Peter, but isn’t there someone else?” Thank you princesa
“Nope, everyone else is busy” Mierda Peter, can’t you take a hint?
“Ughh, fine" Nooo, what are you doing?
Miguel heard Mayday giggle, clearly you were holding her now.
“Okay, bye babyy” Peter cooed. “Thank you y/n. Tell the big guy I say hello.” Yeah, well, hello. Now goodbye.
“Okay, byeee” you said.
Miguel heard the door shut, and left out a breath. Why did Parker have to bring the baby to work today??
“Okay baby,” you said. “There is someone I would like you to meet, but you can’t tell anyone. Okay??” WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING??
Miguel stood up on the chair. He moved his head from side to side, trying to find a place to hide, all while he heard Mayday laughing and your fast footsteps approaching.
Where do I hide, where? he thought.
When he made up his mind to jump off and ran under the desk, you were already close. You turned his chair around, now he was facing you, who were carrying Mayday on your hip.
“What are you doing??” he meowed.
Mayday immediately tried to grab him, chanting “Kitty Kitty”, making him scoot back.
Step back you filthy monster
“Careful Mayday, this is a cute Kitty, but you have to careful, alright?” you said. “And the Kitty will behave” you finished, opening your eyes signalling him.
“I’m NOT letting her touch me” he growled, but once he saw Mayday’s teary eyes, he meowed to calm her down. He watched you grab the bag on the table and then, with your free arm, you scooped him up, to take him and Mayday closer to your working stating.
You had a conversation with Lyla, but Miguel didn’t pay attention, he was focused on trying to calm himself down. He needed to act like a cat. Mayday wasn’t that old, but she was smart. He couldn’t let her father find out.
You placed Miguel down on the floor, before grabbing a blanket and laying it down, so Mayday could sit on it. As soon as her legs touched the floor, she launched herself towards Miguel.
“NOOO” Miguel meowed, being hugged by her little hands.
Mayday pulled him towards her chest and started petting him. At least she was careful. They weren’t your pets, but it wasn’t bad. In all honestly, he wanted to get as far away as possible, but that would mean probably hurting Mayday and pissing you off, so he stayed put, playing the role of a good boy.
“That’s good Mayday” you cheered, while clapping at her. “You are being so careful.”
Lyla took out her holographic phone and took a picture, making Miguel look at her angrily, still being on Mayday’s hold.
Miguel wanted to scream and chase Lyla around, but he couldn’t. Mayday had a strong hold on him, so he just scolded at both of you.
“Sorry” you mouthed at him.
“No you are not” he growled.
You opened the bag and took out the toys you had brought.
“Here Mayday” you said, bending down a little to hand her a toy. “You can play with this, see if he likes it.” It was a stick with a rat attached to it by a cord. Does she know I am not a real cat? Oh, you are going to pay for this my love.
She looked at him and grabbed it, still holding Miguel. She laughed and moved it around in front of Miguel. He didn’t want to pay attention to it, he was just staring at you.
“Oh, come on Kitty” you cooed. “Play a little.”
“You are evil” he meowed, rolling his eyes. He turned to Mayday and pretended to play, only to gain points with you. This were going to be a long couple of hours.
Miguel had been playing with Mayday for hours. He was exhausted. He couldn’t count how many times Mayday stuck her filthy fingers on his mouth, and he couldn’t do anything about it. Thankfully, she fell asleep, and he didn’t last long either.
He heard some noise around him, but didn’t pay much attention to it. He fell into a deep slumber.
After what felt like a minute, you shook him up.
“Miggy, Miggy! Wake up” he heard.
Miguel lifted his head, confused. What do you want?
“The device works! I can turn you back!” you exclaimed.
At that, Miguel stood up quickly, moving his tail around. He sprinted to the middle of the room, positioning himself, waiting for the blast.
Finally, I am getting out of this body
Miguel closed his eyes and you shoot the beam towards him. Miguel felt weird when he felt the laser hit him, but when he opened his eyes, he was back to normal.
“Miggy!!!” you squealed letting go of the machine, and jumped into his arms hugging him.
He hugged you back, pressing his cheek on yours, lifting you in the air and turning. You giggled. Once he set you back in your feet, you grabbed his face and kissed him, but pulled back quickly.
“Wait!” you exclaimed. “Be right back!”. You ran towards the device, grabbed it and opened a portal.
Where the hell is she going?
“I’m so glad to be back” Miguel said to himself, passing his hands through his chest and face.
Miguel stared at the spot from where you left confused. He had just turned back to normal after a day and you ran off. Was he that ugly? Did you remember him differently? Did you preferred him on cat form?
All the thoughts swarming his head prevented him from seeing your arrival. You sprinted towards him and jumped on his arms, catching him off guard, but he was still able to hold you. You kissed him deeply, turning all those thoughts from earlier to ash. You still loved him.
“I missed youu” you said, barely above a whisper, after pulling back slightly, lips still brushing against each other.
“I miss you too amor” he replied, rubbing his nose against yours. You giggled.
“I have to admit,” you started. “I’m going to miss having a kitty” you finished pouting, looking up towards Miguel with pleading eyes.
“No” Miguel said sternly. I’m never letting you have a cat he thought.
But we all know how that ended up…..
Part 1 Part 2 Part 3
Well, this is the end of the Kitty Adventures mini series, for now at least. I know I said I was going to write 2 bonuses, but I can't get myself to write the 2nd one. Besides, I really want to start back on the Soulmate AU series.
If someone has a request involving more of this, I would be happy to fulfill it. I love writing about kitty miggy, so feel free to ask!!
tag: @aphinthestars
If you've read part 2, you'll notice it is basically the same, minor some actions from the reader, because as I said, it is from Kitty Miggy's pov, who wasn't with reader all the time.
I am half way through the bonus 1. It is a deep dive into Kitty Miggy's mind. I probably will post it tomorrow, because I feel like I am going to be able to finish it today, but I don't want to make promises
Anyway, as always, if you would like to be tagged, let me know!!
Hi!!!! I promise it is in the works hahaha. Hopefully I finish it between today and tomorrow. I'm aiming to post it tomorrow afternoon/night (Spain time)
I'm so glad so many liked it!!! I honestly thought it was gonna flop so badly 😂. It was just a silly idea, but it turned out great!!
Thanks for asking!!!
