Kittyvik Tomodachi Life!!

I have been obsessed with this game and it hasn't even come out yet.

Words cannot express how happy it makes me to see myself interacting with Viktor! I need the full version to come out NOW.

Jayce became my third mii, so the trio is back together again. I refuse to finish the demo until just before the full release.

Viktor and Jayce spend a lot of time being dumb together (the most canon thing ever), and Jayce is also obsessed with this tissue box I gave him?

Anyway, I wrote a short fic inspired by this. Working on short, fluffy fics in between writing my main story has been really fun!

I sit on the couch, switch in hand. I'm engrossed in my game, unable to think about or do anything else. Tomodachi Life is a recent discovery for me, but the hyperfixation has already consumed my entire life.

Distantly, I hear something past the goofy intonation of text-to-speech garble. The whine of a boiling kettle. Underneath the unearthly scream of impending tea is a familiar pattern of uneven thumps - right foot and cane, left foot. The pause between right and left is a little off. A long time ago when I was bored, I counted the seconds between footfalls over and over again. I can tell you the exact time it takes, on average, for him to hit the floor going from good leg to bad.

In ideal conditions, anyway. Sometimes his gait is far more labored, and sometimes I am too distracted to recall. These two things never correspond. Fortunately, today is a day that I am afforded to forget.

Behind me, I can hear him humming. It cuts through the fixation, but just barely. I don't look up from the screen.

Suddenly, he laughs, short and barking, from behind me. A steaming cup of tea breaches my peripherals, served in a floral yellow and green mug. I set my switch down long enough to take it and place it on the nearest coaster.

"Is that me?" He asks, amused.

The camera is focused on his mii, who's dancing with my own. My lips twitch, but I don't look back at him.

"Yup."

"Christ, you've made me look gaunt."

"You don't look gaunt," I reply, fully grinning down at the screen now. I notice his reflection watching me from over my shoulder. "You just have a narrow face."

"Ah, and that's you. Is there any particular reason we're dancing in the middle of the street?"

I feel his weight lean on the backrest, the heat of his mug warming my ear. Flowers are spawning over top of our miis' heads.

"Because we're good friends, see?" I point to our relationship status in the top left-hand corner. Viktor scoffs.

"Only friends? This isn't a life simulator?"

I finally crane my neck to meet an upside down view of him. His pretty eyes are sparkling, the corner of his mouth cocked. Butterflies start faintly in my stomach. We've been together a year, but I can't help it.

"I'm trying to make them fall in love. It's so hard. You have to, like... make them accidentally walk into each other at an angle. I don't know, it's dumb."

"Mm, if I recall correctly, that is essentially how I fell for you." He grins, his eyes crinkling. I laugh - he's right.

His calloused fingers trail over my jaw and up my cheekbone. "You should drink that tea before it gets cold. I'm guessing that you haven't moved from that spot in some time," he says. His touch has traveled up into my hairline, gently tugging at the strands to tease.

"You should watch me play," I say back without missing a beat. Let me info-dump to you. I am already plotting to steal his switch to play again on the off chance he refuses. He won't, though. There is always time and patience for me - he is rich with it.

"Alright, alright." He thumps around the couch and sits snugly beside me, hip pressed to hip. His cane comes to lie slanted against the coffee table before us.

Viktor laughs and points at another mii coming in from the corner of the screen. "Is that Jayce?"

Not to pat myself on the back, but it looks just like him. Jayce's mii takes a seat on the grass with his knees to his chest, staring at a tissue box before him. There's not a single thought going on in that big head.

"He's obsessed with that stupid tissue box I gave him," I giggle, panning the camera over to focus on him. "At first he hated it, and now it's all he can talk about."

"I have to show him," Viktor chuckles, and pulls out his phone. I tear myself away from the game long enough to watch him send a picture of my Jayce mii to its real-life counterpart.

"Oh my god," I laugh again, only a little embarrassed.

It's not long before his phone vibrates and we look at the text together. Jayce has replied - WTF is that me????

Another round of delighted laughter fills our living room, and Viktor grins fiendishly. "It seems you've done a good job," he snorts. I can't stop myself. It's not even that funny, but I'm losing it. I lean against him, cackling so hard that my switch slips from my lap onto the cushions.

I snort, and he breaks. Little bouts of laughter slip through his lips. His shoulders shaking, he presses a breathy kiss to my temple before reaching across my lap for the switch.

Between wheezes, he says, "Drink - drink your tea! Hydrate, damn you." He takes my cup up and tries to feed the now-cool drink to me, but it mostly dribbles down my chin. He snickers, and only just manages to not drop it as we lose it again.

I try to pull myself together, wiping my eyes. I stay leaned into him, a giggle bubbling back up every so often. "I'll drink it, promise. I'll do it right now if you go grab your switch? We can play together."

The trap is set...

"I suspected it would come to this. Alright, just this once."

... And sprung.

He says that every single time I ask him to get a game with me. Without fail, he always relents to the next game I beg him to play with me, too. Viktor pulls himself up with a quiet groan. God knows where his switch is, the device has been neglected for so long. Nothing has captivated me this much since Hello Kitty Island Adventure.

Just as he stands, our miis bump into each other. What's up with Kitty? A big, excited grin makes its way onto my face, and suddenly I feel his hand on top of my head.

Viktor's mii is a blushing mess as my mii helps him to his feet. The real Viktor makes a soft hum as he watches the exchange. "I told you. Just like real life."

On the screen, hearts begin to fly.

28 March is Kittyvik Day!!!

We didn't do much today, but I did bake a cake and we went on a lovely little walk. Quiet and simple, just as he likes.

The past year with Viktor has been absolutely incredible. He's helped me cope with a lot, and given me back my creative spark. I love my scientist man to bits and pieces 💕 Here's to another year.

Introduction

Hi there, and welcome to my silly little yume blog. I'm redoing my intro, so apologies if you'd already seen the old one! Art above was done by my brother, @/ruleroftheratempire on ig.

My name is Kitty, and I'm in a relationship with Viktor from Arcane. I primarily see myself with him as he is in season one act one, because we're the same age, but I love him in any form, including any LoL skins, AU variations, and his later appearances in the Arcane series. I am non-sharing with him, because I legitimately see him as my boyfriend, my husband, and my partner. I say 'yumeship' to simplify things, but it genuinely feels deeper than that. He's a great character, and I get people love him too, but I do block others who yume with him. No hard feelings, it's just for my own comfort. I ask that doubles please don't interact. Also DNI pro-shippers, please.

We've been in a relationship coming up one year now on 28 March! I remember loving him as soon as I watched Arcane for the first time, but it didn't occur to me that I wanted to be with him until much later, after the second season ended. I don't actually have an exact date of when I considered him mine, but 28 March was when I first mentioned him in my diary, so that's the date that stuck.

About me!

Like I said, my name is Kitty :) My pronouns are she/her and I'm currently 25. I have C-PTSD, OCD, and I am also autistic. My relationship with Viktor helps a lot with these things.

I have also always seen myself as nonhuman. This is likely because I am neurodivergent, but it also feels vaguely spiritual to me, despite not being a spiritual person. I consider myself to be a changeling - a faerie who has replaced a human as an infant. I won't go into the lore here, but I recommend reading into it because it is interesting! I specifically see myself as a púca changeling, a type of faerie that can shapeshift into animals. As such, I usually depict myself with some kind of animal features to reflect this. I was apart of the therian community as a teenager, but left several years ago. Please refer to me as fae or as a changeling, not therian or kin!

Here are some of my interests:

♡ kawaii culture - including j-fashion, oshikatsu, and being sweet and pastel! I'm a huge fan of Rilakkuma, Cinnamoroll, Pokemon, and various animanga series. (I'm actually in Tokyo as I write this!)

♡ cottagecore, academia, coquette, & weird girl aesthetics - when I'm not dressed in all pink, I wear more of this kind of look! I identify heavily with the soft girl life.

♡ alternative ideals - I was raised by a punk dad, so alt fashion, music, and counterculture have always had a huge influence on me. Sometimes I dress the part too. If you haven't been able to tell yet, expressing myself is important to me!!

♡ science - I am a woman in STEM (part of why I'm perfect for Viktor!) and I love working with animals. It truly gives me purpose. I'm trying to get into grad school currently.

♡ the arts - I love to write, read, and draw! My art isn't the best, but it's the act of creating that's important, after all. I write all the time and will post my work here and on AO3. I'm trying to get back into drawing after a several year depression spiral, so I won't post much of my work.

♡ gaming - Specifically fantasy and RPGs! I'm obsessed with Baldur's Gate 3 (and have a personal DnD inspired AU for Viktor too, hehe). I also love The Last Guardian, Animal Crossing, Pokemon, Monster Hunter, and so many more.

About us!!

I'll write about my personal headcanons in a separate post, but in the meantime, here are some things about me and Viktor.

♡ Lots of quality time! We can often be found near each other or touching in some capacity even if we're not engaging in the same activity. We read together a lot.

♡ I call him Vik, along with the more common pet names of love, babe, honey, etc. In addition to these, he also calls me kočička and lásko.

♡ My Vik is a mish-mash of his canon version and the modern AU version of him where he is Czech.

♡ I have a Viktor plushie that I take everywhere! He's called Tiny Vik, or Itty-Bitty Vik. I have two more on the way (his astral self version and machine herald version). I also collect Viktor merch and have a shrine of sorts.

♡ I steal his clothes often. I have bought clothes that look like his to wear and feel closer to him. It helps that we both like academia fashion. I also own his cologne and wear it from time to time. He adores it.

♡ Colors I associate with him are dark shades of purple, blue, green, and sometimes red. My own colors are baby pink, green (both pastel and darker shades), white, baby blue, and brown.

♡ We share the love language of quality time, and that's definitely Viktor's biggest way of showing love. Mine lean more towards physical touch and words of affirmation, things he makes sure he does for me plenty.

Long ass text post! Thank you for reading all the way if you have. I'm not expecting this blog to gain a lot of traction, but that's not why I'm doing this either. I just want to ramble in my own quiet corner of the internet and support others' yumes :)

Viktor and I are in Japan!

Literally a dream come true. It's five AM here right now, but I'm a terrible sleeper. I wanted to share this short, self-indulgent yumeship fic I wrote on the plane while dying to get off of it lol. It's inspired by both real life events and the daydreams I had to try and pass the time during my 13 hour flight. It was originally a fourteen hour flight, but thankfully in the end an hour was shaved off. I think the extra hour might have done me in.

Plane Ride

I shuffle my feet. It's only been six hours, and we have eight more to go. The plane is already dark, the lights pre-emptively lowered for those who are blessed with the gift of easy sleep.

I am not one of those people, but neither is he.

I look to my left. He's reading, chestnut hair flattened against the seat in front of him as he scans the book lying open on the tray at his knees. We have basically zero leg room, but he seems to be accepting this with far more grace than I'm willing to give.

I'm bored. This plane ride would never end.

"Hey," I nudge him.

Amber eyes flick in my direction. I lean ever so slightly closer, my lips pursed. Entertain me, they beg. Give me something to do other than sit here and rot in this uncomfortable seat.

He obliges without a second thought, dry lips pressing into mine for a quick kiss.

"I'm reading, love," he says.

I fidget. How dare he want time to enjoy his own hobby - I'm dying here.

"Can I read with you?"

Viktor makes a soft noise of amusement and angles the book to the right. "Of course."

I lay my head on his shoulder and start at the top of the page. He thumbs the next, giving me time to catch up before turning it. It's a sci-fi novel. I don't recognize the plot, yet I easily slip into the familiar world of space travel and technology far too ambitious for real life.

I had brought my own book, and it sits in the backpack at my feet untouched. It was too dark in here to read, I had told myself. He turns the page again. The warmth of his body lulls my eyes shut.

It's a hopeless gesture. I don't think sleep is possible on an aircraft. All the people ahead of me snoozing away are either pretending, or practicing some black magic that they selfishly hoard to themselves. The fabric of his green flannel shirt is soft against my cheek. It would be nice to fall asleep here.

"Are you planning on drooling all over me?" comes Viktor's quiet tease. I smirk to myself, eyes still closed.

"No, because I still can't sleep."

Another small noise, nearly a laugh. I hear the flip of a page. The plane is rocking under us, and the dull roar of the engine constantly drones in my ears. I can smell Viktor's cologne this close to his neck - a light musk with the faint undertones of something sweet. At home, I would be out like a light.

He reads his novel, and I almost dream about sleeping in his arms. Another turning of a page, coming like clockwork. It comes more frequently now. He probably knew this would happen. I'm notorious for drifting off, or attempting to.

His hand materializes at my temple, his thumb grazing the top of my ear as the pads of his fingers momentarily massage through my hair.

For a second, all of my thoughts fall away.

BONUS:

Eleven hours in, and I'm so tired that micro-sleep is attacking my system nearly every other minute. Yet the body refuses. I've never been so desperate to fall asleep in my life.

Viktor clears his lap. Somehow, he only looks as tired as he usually is and not a spot more. Insomnia is his super power on this trip.

"Kitty, come lay down," he says softly, patting his thighs. "You look... perishable. It's kind of freaking me out."

Ordinarily, that would have made me laugh, but I feel too much like a zombie to find the humor in anything right now. I do as he says, unbuckling my seat belt and curling into a little ball between the scarce space of our two seats.

The pillows the flight attendant have given us are surprisingly comfortable despite their dryer sheet-like texture. With Viktor's fingers running against my scalp, I must have dozed off immediately.

I wake up with the snap of my eyelids when I hear him laughing. I sit up and the drool that had gathered on my chin dispenses itself further down my face. "What, what?" I mumble dumbly.

"God, you really did drool everywhere." He's stifling his laughter with a pinch of his lips, the corners twitching. I wipe my face and laugh thickly when I pick the pillow up from his lap. It's very wet.

"Ew. Sorry. Was I out long?"

"Only an hour."

My body didn't seem to catch up to that fact. I was revitalized, like someone had hooked me up to an air pump and filled my body with spirit again. Amazing, the clarity I had now.

I look at the screen mounted on the back of the seat in front of me. Two more hours to go. Suddenly I remember that I'm capable of cheer and good will towards mankind. I grin at Viktor. "We're almost there, can you believe it?"

He hums in response, reaching up to fix the strands of my bangs that were surely sticking up haphazardly now. "I can. We've been on this plane long enough."

I giggle and remember how excited I am. What a dream come true. How lucky I am to have him with me for it, too. Out the window, the clouds have formed a wispy cover above what was surely the ocean. Viktor's hand finds mine and squeezes it.
