What if Dream kept his memories after the Incident? What if he recognized everyone he met? What if he knew who George and Sapnap were before they introduced themselves? What if he never told them? What if he saw the wary looks Sapnap sometimes sent him when he thought he wasn’t looking? What if he noticed the flashes of pain in George’s eyes? What if he promised to never be the cause of their pain again, even if that meant living a lie?

Well the easy answer to all these what ifs is that I would be sad!!

I wonder, in this scenario, if he knew he would remember, or if he expected to forget along everyone else. Let’s say he stays with them, deciding it’s finally safe to be with his friends without consequence. Mans is gonna be leaking trauma all over 😭 How long will he be able to keep that up?

Especially if- what are you insinuating here? That the other two also remember? Or if bits of their past start to come back even if they’re not fully aware of it? Would Dream tell himself he’s just imagining it? Would it start to get to him, until he goes on some paranoid spiral?

That’s not to say he won’t try his best!!! I believe in him and they’ll all be happy now and forever and nothing will go wrong ever and they will all get decent communication skills because I say so!!!!

What if Dream didn’t remember anything in season 2? What if no feeling, no look, no touch of no scar gave him any memories back? What if any kiss George and he shared was like a first one to him? What if George’s face brought him no memories from before? What if George had to look at him and accept that? What if he knew there was no getting his Dream back? What if he had to build his life with this Dream again, knowing he could never share his pain with the most important person in his life (any life)?
