Black. Four-wheels. Collapsible handle. Extra pockets. Thrifty.
It’s perfect, really. Jaejin can practically sense it from across the store: a sturdy, strong suitcase that, frankly, has been a long time coming.
Against all reason, Jaejin is, well . . . practical. At least, practical where he should be. He’s got a family at home to feed ( that is, they would if they would accept his contributions ) and more money than he knows what to do with. He’s an ODD ENIGMA despite the designer watch and sunglasses curling around his wrist and face, he still taps away on an old phone from 2014 and walks the mall in five-year-old, well-loved sneakers. A poor childhood keeps old habits burning.
And now, he prowls toward the suitcase, tucked shyly behind a couple designer ones. An old, dormant part of Jaejin calculates the price of it out of his monthly budget versus the amount of cash he needs to send home.
[ NEVER MIND THE FACT THAT ANY CHECKS HE SENDS TO THE REST OF THE SEO FAMILY ARE SURE TO BE SENT BACK IN THE MAIL. ]
As he approaches and circles the bag with an approving grin, he spots a figure out of the corner of his eye— a genuinely pleased smile spreads across Jaejin’s face.
“Well, well. If it isn’t Kiwon. It’s been so long— since trainee years, huh? Are you here to buy a new luggage set, too? My set is too old; it’s a hand-me-down from twenty years ago. And now that my group, PARTICLE, is going to L.A., I figured it’s time for me to buy a new one. Well, what do you think of this?”
