massive brain worms tn. I keep rotating the idea that like, what if charon was the first individual that zoraphet was made for, back before hades took over as god of the dead? he must've used zoraphet back then.

also rotating the fact that he most likely had to relinquish zoraphet after thanatos was born because he knew that Than would need it someday.

thinking about a potential story where, when the war between Chronos and the gods first breaks out and charon takes refuge in the crossroads, he feels tempted to use zoraphet again. he feels it call to him, can hear its alluring bloodsong, can feel its thirst drying his throat. for the first time in however long since he handed zoraphet down to his brother, he aches to feel its weight in his hands as he brings it down on the neck of the one who took everything from him. his family, his job, his money, his fucking domain- everything.

hecate has to convince him to stand down, to remind him that his role as a distributor and supply line runner was of most importance. That if he got caught, they'd all be fucked. So he just has to wait until melinoë is old enough to wield the weapon herself, has to contend with itching palms and an anger so deep that it festers like a rotting wound.

what if he didn't stand down? What if he went after Chronos in the beginning, and the two of them found that neither of them could kill or dispose of the other, and thats why Chronos does fuck all about Charon setting up shop outside his base.

(When I made these, it was with the idea that I'm thinking of these characters personality-wise, not what their actual power scale is. If it were based on power scale, there would be no question that most of them would survive easily lol. Also, these rankings are based on what I think their general experience would be, not if they were all doing it at the same time)

You know who I think should hang out? eris and chaos. I think that out of everyone, Chaos would understand her the best. It would certainly make for an interesting parallel on how Nyx distanced herself from chaos (before Zag's intervention) and it is hinted that she has a strained relationship with Eris.

It would be interesting for Chaos to recognize their own parenting mistakes being reflected in how Nyx parented Eris, and somehow feeling... compelled? Drawn? To be a more... present grandparent. Like they know their own behavior drove Nyx away, and Nyx clearly did the same to Eris. Why shouldn't Chaos take an interest, especially in someone who thrives in disorder?
