Listen up, a shout-out to every Zonerunner and Wild Child out there in the dust; keep your eyes to the road and your ears open. Word is that the stars won’t be the only thing bright and bold out there tonight if you know where to run. And if you don’t know then you might as well be a ghost.

So look to the North boys and girls; and I’ll see you past the skyline.

Direct out of our Killjoys comic-based canon comes our current event; the summer heat is a killer in the desert but that doesn’t stop the rebels from grabbing the best of life where they can.

The Mad Gear and Missile Kid, the cannon band from the comicbook storyline, are having one of their covert concerts out in the desert. The Mad Gear is a very popular band that runs the Zones and operates outside Battery City as the voice of music and rebellion in the Killjoys universe. For our game it’s assumed that this also applies to the Wild Ones since they share the desert with the Killjoys.

For this event our setting will be at a temporary location; players can expect the standard concert background with a few differences. Since the band is very mobile these concerts are passed along by word of mouth or else stumbled across and serve as a meeting place for occupants outside of Battery City for miles around; Wild Ones and Killjoys both. The band will be handled as NPCs, so interaction is fine from a distance but most play needs to take place between Muses; and this event is meant to be a energized, exciting backdrop with lots of noise and mingling. Standard concert fare is to be expected, tailored to suit our game; so drinking, chaos and the like are okay; just keep in mind the game setting. These concerts are about loud music and gathering, with the sparse nature of resources in the Zones.

Please drop a note to the Mods for requests of threads that might involve NPCs, or with any questions!

For our BL or F.E.A.R. Muses; both groups are on alert and have dispatched people to observe the location from the transmission picked up on the airwaves about the event. So you’re welcome, and encouraged, to play as well! Just remember; this is one case where showing your colors as BL or F.E.A.R. is a bit unwise; you’re in rebel territory this time around. Both Nasu and James have instructed their best people to spy without altercation if possible; something to keep in mind as this isn’t the same as some of our past fight/rescue styled events. 

This event will run Saturday - Monday, with event Starters those days, and background gameplay of already existing Starters being fine to continue, mindful that most gameplay should be event-focused. Monday normal game Starters can resume and all event-related play can continue as well until Muns are finished. 

Everyone is welcome to play in this event; this is an open play event rather than a paired one so any and all Muses can interact with whoever! Have fun plotting and playing!

Event Announcement

We have an upcoming open event, which means it will not be random pairing this time around; and need a reply post in the OOC as to what times would work best for our players.

Being that next weekend is a holiday; we would either like to run the event during the week for a few days, or the Monday-Tuesday after the holiday. Alternatively; if the week is hectic for players we can plan for the weekend after the holiday.

So please, if you have any intention of being a part of the event post in the OOC so that we can set a time that will allow people time to play. We will run this in our standard two-day event Starters, then threads continuing after with normal game Starters resuming format.

Random Pairing Event - Something in the Water

BL/ind, after a mishap in their medical production facility, has released a toxic chemical into the main waterways in the Zones. With the intention of producing a highly addictive sedative in order to weaken the resolve of the Killjoys and Wild Ones, something has gone askew with the mix.

The end result has been a slew of chemicals that target the impulse centers of the brain, primary those dealing with attraction and desire. While this has been noted to effect people in different ways the main effect does seem to be a strong sense of urgency in desire towards others roughly half an hour to an hour after ingestion; the effects thus far have been noted to last at most between twelve to twenty-four hours.

BL/ind and F.E.A.R. Muses are welcome to play as well; since it’s perfectly reasonable that they may not have known about the chemicals in the water supply at the time it was released.

Check the OOC for our random pairing list for this event!

We will be running time for Starters Saturday until Monday morning to give everyone some time to plot and start their threads with their partner for the event; during this time other threads already in-progress can also be continued but remember that our main focus will be the event.

At/around Monday morning, or earlier if all event Starters are posted before then, non-event related new Starters can resume, and event Starters are of course allowed to be played for however long Muns would like to carry their threads.

Event Update

Reminder - Water event will be this weekend/early week. So. If you haven't chimed in with an answer in the OOC but would like your Muse(s) to be involved please do; we have to make a pair list!

We also currently have an App in holding but will likely be holding onto making a decision until after the event, and after I actually contact the person to discuss a couple of things, since throwing a new character into an event without giving the Mun time to get a feel for them is sort of mean. Haha.

I'm going to tag who all we haven't heard from yet on this.

ParaPrompt - Where Do You Stand

Everyone makes choices in life, from what they do when they wake in the morning to the friends that they keep, or keep distant from. But one of the biggest choices a Muse makes is what side in a war-worn world they're going to stand on. It is from that choice that so many other builds and life is crafted, and sometimes death. 

So where does your Muse stand; and what events or decisions led them to make the choice? Was it the want to prove themselves? Some desperate need to follow their goals, or those of someone else? Or was it as simple as they took the path of least resistance?

And  how has this decision sculpted the person they have become, or changed them from who they used to be?

Since this is our first go at this activity here's a little info for our Muns!

Meant as a jumping-off point for self-para and Muse development; have fun, write what you want and explore the topic in any non-RP format you like! Story, Muse POV, perhaps a letter/journal written by your Muse? 

These activities are meant for the Muse and Mun, rather than for character interaction, and are totally voluntary as to if the Mun wants to use them.

Whatever you like; just enjoy it!

Rules Update

Since we have some new players, new Muses, and some of our older players would like to branch out more; we're implementing a small change in our rules for now.

This one deals with starters! 

We would like to run by a 1:1 rule for now to see how it works, which means;

Before you post a starter please respond to an existing one; that way our players have more of a chance to interact. 

Of course we realize that some starters are group specific; some settings are not open to every single Muse due to the group they are affiliated with, and that's fine. We don't expect anyone to play OOC with their Muse, we just want to make sure people are mingling. :)

If, at any point, anyone is having issues with starters they can always contact the Mods for some help! Mod-run characters are generally set up in positions that they can run a starter for any Muse; we currently have a Mod-run character in F.E.A.R, BL/ind, the Killjoys and we will shortly be adding two that will not be group specific so they can interact with any Muse if starters are wanted. In these situations it is considered an exempt from the rule as it is a starter being posted by a Mod for a Muse to pick up.

People are still welcome to post starters, after they respond to an existing, but do keep in mind that we would prefer that threads not be dropped; it's not very fair to the other player. Sometimes a thread dissolves, naturally, but so long as some effort is put into interacting it's greatly appreciated. 

New Muses are allowed to post a starter as their opening post, as an introduction to the game for them, yes; the starter rule then applies after that for them. But we do know that players sometimes prefer for their Muses to come into a game a certain way, and that's fine.

We are also mulling over two new types of game play; Mod-posted starters based on setting for everyone to play off of if they wish, and optional weekly writing prompts for self-paras.  Both of these would be totally optional; but we would like to try a few new ideas in the game to expand it a bit and give our players a chance to character develop if they wish to.

More on this will come in an update soon, once we work out the details of exactly how we want it to work.

In-Game Event

Axel, leader of the Killjoys, has been in the clutches of F.E.A.R. for several days; and now the forces of his Killjoys and Nathan's Wild Ones have joined to attempt a dangerous rescue right from under the nose of F.E.A.R.'s leader, James. 

Time to throw caution aside and carry out an onslaught on the daunting force that is F.E.A.R, and hope everyone survives. With the rebels determination put to the extremes, questionable loyalties to aid them, and James' best on alert; best of luck and we'll see who comes out of this in one piece. 

This is a call for all Starters to be placed on hold unless they are Event-related, from now until Monday evening when the event will draw to a close. Other game-play can be carried on if it is an established thread, but Event game play if preferred; and everyone has something to do! 

If any questions arise the Mods are here to help move along the game; so have fun everyone!

Please work out your posting order for threads more than two Muses, and use the @ function to tag the next player to post in them as you go.

Event Update!

Our event will start at/around 8-8:30pm EST. There will be an announcement at that point for everyone to start, and it will run until Monday evening to give everyone a chance to jump in. During the event no new starters not related to the event are to be put up please, but threads already in progress can be continued outside of event gameplay.

The event revolves around rescuing Axel, who is in the F.E.A.R. compound.

The compound is very secure, but not impossible to get into; there are Muses with various access to areas, and so long as it's reasonable the point is to get into the building. Be aware though that with a security breech there are alarms in place to sound! So be careful if you don't want to get caught. ;) Plotting is encouraged and everyone who would like to be involved WILL be involved.

From now until the event, and this during, Mods will be on to help when needed, and we'll be playing too! So everyone have fun; we'll be starting soon! Please hold your starters for that until then.

F.E.A.R. Operatives; Muses will  likely encounter them, so here's a quick rundown of them. 

James: James has access to every level and room within the compound, and for the purposes of the event will be in his office on the first floor of the building.

Jack. The Butcher has access to every area of the compound, but does spend most of his time in the basement and the first floor. Jack is head of security so he has full security access to the building. He may or may not be in the building, depending on what the Mun decides.

Deven: F.E.A.R.'s resident Firestarter may be anywhere on the first two floors or basement, but does not have access to the third and above where the research labs are. Deven is likely to be inside or outside the compound though.

Harris: Working in both the weapons development department as well as directly with the computer systems, Harris has physical access to the first and second floor, the weapon research area on the third, and the basement. He has computer access in limited amount to the direct systems as well but being that this is his main skillset he likely can get into most of the mainframe.

May: James' current errand-boy has full access to the basement and first and second floor, as well as limited access to the weaponry research labs. He also has knowledge of the sewer 'tunnels' that connect the compound to the city from under the building itself. Aside from James and Jack he is the only one in FEAR who knows of them.

Miles: Mostly an information lackey; his clearance is limited to the first two floors and the basement, as well as having a sign-in on the building mainframe that is limited to information files about the rebels only. He may or may not be in the building.

Rayne: Her access is limited strictly to the first two floors and basement, none of the upper floors.

Any/all BL/ind Muses are limited to the first two floors and the basement; they do not have clearance or security codes for anywhere else in the compound.

Otherwise around F.E.A.R. the security measures are; guards on the first two levels and basement, as well as outside the compound gates. Security cameras on every level and in most of the rooms, the basement has cell cameras as well. These cameras are linked to the security system and are standard cameras; they can be seen. All security is run through the computer system and requires passwords. 

Windows do not 'open'; they are tempered bullet-proof glass and have bars; door are standard and most locks are key-card/code locks.

From level three and upward, where the laboratories, research centers, and weaponry development, as well as James' personal quarters; all require different security codes for the elevator and all doors are locked with codes that require manual input of said codes or cards. Level one and two are not generally locked but areas do have the ability to be; these are common areas such as living areas, courtyard, common rooms and James' office; floor one being the 'lobby' of sorts as well as meeting rooms and James' office. The basement holds interrogation rooms and the cells where prisoners are held.

Currently in the basement:

Axel in one of the main cells, Mr. Maize in a cell near his, and Jay is being held in the back of the cells in an area away from the other two. 

Locks on cells are the standard key type, steel bars and standard cell setup.
