re: leah’s cousins
thought i should make some notes about leah’s super-powered cousins, who are convenient plot devices often mentioned lots in my writing.
(it’s a good post for me to write as well since i somewhat have the intention of writing maybe one of them in the future. chances are it’s going to be hanbin since he’s the most different from leah. but rest assured, leah will always remain my top priority.)
the cousins all only children within their households, hence why they’re close. their fathers are brothers and they’re on okay terms, but they’re not as close as the cousins are.
their paternal grandmother is the culprit for their powers. however, i have yet to decide whether the whole procedure that leads to these powers is going to be of sci-fi or supernatural nature. basically, she pissed off some wrong people in her youth and the consequences only come 2 generations later.
either way, the cousins have powers and if you notice, they all are under the astral manipulation umbrella. each of them, in fact, are aware of each other’s powers and all their powers manifest when they’re all 18 (with the exception of dogyun, more on that later).
kwon solji (28, mediumship)
looks like a cinnamon roll but can actually kill you.
a phlegmatic.
a softie who could be the most powerful of the cousins (she can call upon any spirits to ‘possess’ her and any skills, strengths, brains the spirit possess, solji will also possess). however, she prefers to keep things on the down low so she barely uses her powers.
found out about her powers during a mountain retreat for her high school graduation. the kids were scared when she was possessed by a mountain spirit.
she’s very sweet and she’s currently married to a rich ceo that she meets when she’s working at a flower shop! (awww) the ceo was looking for flowers for his mother’s birthday and since then he visits lots.
she’s pregnant too now (and she’s somewhat afraid that her daughter might be powered).
quite close to leah despite their differences. leah often comes to solji for advice because she finds her the wisest amongst her cousins.
kwon hanbin (25, ectoplasm manipulation)
looks like he can kill you, will actually kill you (if you give him a reason).
a melancholic.
paralegal at a law firm.
found out about his powers when he was doing his military service.
out of all the cousins (barring leah), he’s the one who embraces his powers, going so far as becoming a vigilante. considering the nature of his powers and the fact that he trains a lot, it’s possible for him. he tries to rope his cousins into it as well.
as a result of his constant training, he has the best control over his powers.
very self-righteous and gung ho about honour and justice––leah hates that.
like leonardo and raphael from the masterpiece that is tmnt, he butts heads the most with leah since they both are very stubborn and have different views on how their powers should be used.
he’s also the one who finds out that the cousins all have powers.
kwon leah (ya girl, your fav ghost)
sinnamon roll
a choleric.
you know her.
*finger guns*
kwon dogyun (20, astral attacks)
looks like a cinnamon roll is a cinnamon roll
a sanguine.
he’s the closest to leah because in jeonju they were neighbours.
when they were young, the two often gets into shenanigans. when leah got older and tired of her parents 'scoldings’, she tries to repress her... wild tendencies.
since he’s the youngest, everybody coddles him too.
dogyun’s optimistic about life. very wide-eyed and always sees the good in people.
you would think that somebody like him would be excited to have his powers––he’s not. he’s the most averse and angry.
his powers manifested when he was 16 years old and it scared the hell out of him. he was playing basket ball with his friends when it manifested and he hurt his friend.
hanbin tries to tell dogyun to train his powers, but dogyun always refuses.
thankfully, there’s never a time when dogyun’s powers goes out of control.
might update this in the future when i have more headcanons for these cousins!
