      something is wrong. it’s quite the cynical way to look at things when the cause of one’s concern is that they’re being flirted with, and it’s certainly not the response matty would usually give to this situation. but he’s been around kai often enough now to know that this isn’t  n o r m a l  behaviour. well, normal for them as a pair. kai gets drunk and pulls the moves on people all the time -- matty’s witnessed it more times than he cares to count ( far too much effort ) -- but it’s never with him. not once has kai tried to get into  h i s  pants, and matty’s pretty sure it’s because the other doesn’t much like him or his company. he’s here for the partying, for what matty has to offer, and that’s as far as it goes.

             so, understandably or not, upon recognising these particular moves that the redhead is attempting to pull on him, his immediate reaction is concern. that’s perfectly normal, right ?  he isn’t self-depreciating, and he doesn’t actually care about the other’s well being... but, well. he can’t just ignore it when he knows he’s so far out of his fucking mind right now that he’s actually trying to fuck him. 

       ❝ hey, hey-- ❞  he murmurs, skillfully angling his body away from the shorter who seems entirely set on joining their bodies together right here and now.  ❝ let’s head outside for some air, yeah ? ❞  he isn’t exactly sober himself, so the cool air will hopefully help to clear his mind a bit. he certainly needs it clearing if he isn’t going to fuck up or fuck kai. his fingers wrap around the other’s upper arm, gripping lightly and helping to steer him out toward the patio doors. maybe he’ll light a smoke when he’s out there, or maybe he’ll lay face down in the grass and pray for his head to stop spinning. whatever it happens to be, it’ll at least remove all temptation from his path and he can... what ?  what is he even trying to do here ?  take care of kai ?  sure as fuck doesn’t sound like something he’d do.             probably best not to dwell. | @klancasters
