alyanette trying to set klance up on a date crossover headcanon

alya and marinette have graduated from collège fançois dupont are now going to a university in paris

in one of their classes, they meet these two guys named lance and keith

and from day one it is clear to both alya and marinette that these two dorks are pining over each other

so they make it their mission to set them up on a date

at first the girlfriends think that this is going to be really easy

but it proves to be way more difficult than they thought

Attempt #1 

one day during class alya decides to sit next to keith instead of sitting in her usual spot next to marinette

she strikes up a conversation with him

and then just subtly she tells keith, “you should ask lance out”

keith panics

and then denies having a crush on lance

even though alya never even asked him if he had a crush on lance

meanwhile marinette sits next to blue boy

she tries to get lance’s attention a few times by asking him some questions about the material in that they’re learning in class

but her efforts aren’t really effective because lance just goes back to staring at kei- studying

mari, though, knows from her observations that lance loves to flirt

she decides to drop a few pick up lines to get lance’s attention

(marinette doesn’t really like flirting with anyone other than alya, but hey, this is for the greater good)

mari is successful in getting lance’s attention

then, when they’ve got a conversation going, she’s all like,

“you should go ask that keith guy out”

“you guys would be such a cute couple”

“don’t be nervous he probably would say yes”

lance just turns bright red

like he doesn’t even question how marinette, this random girl he barely knows, figured out that he likes keith

the next day alya and marinette ask keith and lance if they’ve asked each other out yet

they both say “nope”

apparently just suggesting that a person should ask someone out doesn’t motivate them to actually ask them out

alya and marinette should have known though that setting two pining boys up really isn’t that easy

(for the record though, mari had simply told adrien to ask out luka and he had done so not even 10 minutes later. so it wasn’t a completely ineffective way of getting people to go on a date.)

Attempt #2

about a week has passed since the first attempt and alya has gotten to know keith a little bit better, while marinette has been talking to lance more

anyways though alya and marinette make a plan

they decide that they’re both going to ask keith/lance to hang out at this one café. then alya and marinette are going to introduce each other to keith/lance. after that the girlfriends are going to ‘go to the bathroom’ and never come back, thus leaving the pining disasters together.

this kind of fails though

alya and marinette introduce themselves to the pining boys, but not long after that shiro barges in

shiro makes keith go home with him so he can take kosmo on a walk while shiro and adam go on some date

and of course after keith leaves, pidge immediately walks over to the booth that everyone is sitting at, orders a chocolate milkshake, and starts criticizing lance

Attempt #3

some time passes and the alya, marinette, lance, and keith kinda are a little mini friend group

anyways though, one day, alya and marinette are discussing sleepovers that they’ve had with some of their friends (kagami, mylène, chloé, rose, juleka, et cetera).

and marinette just asks lance “have you ever had a sleepover?”

and you’d except that lance would say that he’d had one with pidge and hunk or something

but no

he hasn’t

so long story short the four of them are having a sleepover at alya’s place and they’re going to invite a crapton of their friends over

fast forward a little while

so there’s a bunch of people in alya’s apartment (the four + pidge, allura, hunk, adrien, chloé, mylène, and juleka)

and it’s like 11 pm

they decide to play truth or dare

after a while it’s finally alya’s turn to ask lance whether he’d like a truth or dare

he says truth

and so alya asks him if he has a crush

lance blushes 

(and mayhaps keith does too because lance just looks so darn cute)

of course he says that he doesn’t have a crush

so then they play spin the bottle

mylène ends up kissing chloé

adrien shares an awkward kiss with allura

and lance...

he kisses juleka, who just tells him that boys are terrible at kissing and later flips him off “just because she felt like it”

aka another failed attempt

Attempt #4

marinette and alya are just really desperate to get keith and lance together at this point

so together with pidge they go and mess up the heating systems in keith and lance’s dorm rooms at the university

and when keith and lance realize that it’s too cold to sleep in their rooms, alya and marinette offer to let them stay in their apartment

of course, there is only one bed in the guest bedroom...

you probably know what’s coming next

and there was only one bed

marinette and alya were trying to get them to cuddle and have a fluffly moment but nope

lance was freakishly tired and fell asleep on the couch

at this point, alya and marinette have given up on getting lance and keith together

though the boys end up accidentally kissing when they fall on top of each other

and even then it’s another month before they’re actually dating

in conclusion, keith and lance are completely oblivious
