he’s on the side waiting for his drink to be done , ever since carmen had gotten hooked on the cold brew with the cold foam on top . he hears the drink order and instantly grabs it but clashes with another hand , turning he sees the blonde and he takes a step back ❝  looks like i’m not the only who has great taste . ❞ he says with a small smile spread on his brims ❝ go ahead , take it . i’m not in any rush .  ❞

There was a tiny part of Vasili that knew that he was still drunk, and despite it being the next morning, he could tell. “мама is going to be shitting herself when she realises what I did last night, but you’re sworn to secrecy, got it?” Vas asked the blur, making out that it was at least one of his sisters. Squinting slightly, Klara’s features swam into view and he offered a grin. “It’ll be like that time when I was seventeen again, родная, and if she asks about the dent, deny everything.”

long ago, alexei had let himself mourn the life he would never have. now, he recognized that all of the bad came with some good, but it was a lesson hard learned. did he agree with the way nicholai raised his children? probably not, but were some of things he’d done necessary to prepare them for the lives they were born into? sometimes. he knew he might have said something to free klara from her father’s iron hold earlier than she had been, but he also recognized that the path nicholai had chosen for her was much safer than the path their father had put on the two of them. that didn’t stop him from enjoying how close he was with his niece, though. she desperately needed someone to replace her father and alexei desperately needed someone to replace his child. 

so, here they were, enjoying their bimonthly tradition–brunch at bahama breeze, business talk not allowed. alexei scanned over the menu once again, even though he practically had it memorized by now. “what are you thinking of?”

👓- How good is your eyesight? Do you ever need glasses for anything?

“Maybe once in a blue moon, I do need a magnifying glass to see a piece in an engine or a weapon, but it’s not often. I think my eyesight is pretty good. But I don’t think I did myself any favours as a kid with the amount of television I watched, and the comic books snuck under the sheets in the torchlight. And then, of course, you could question my eyesight when I dated Will, but I guess we all make mistakes.”
