today's smallman lore is that i am taiwanese, scottish, and dutch (for the same reasons many taiwanese people are a little dutch).
growing up, i am too white and (slurs for developmentally disabled) to be bother being included in taiwanese language or being taught much of the culture unless there was no way around it, and being cut off from my birth father leaves me not knowing a lot about scottish and celtic things. but living where i do now gives me the freedom to learn about these things.
so the design changes to reflect this self-indulgence. it was always supposed to look like be and my favorite things and my favorite things should include myself too. i am allowed to look like myself! i am allowed to be part of where i come from!

Bought the coolest thing ever, a replica of a traditional jewelry item from the North Holland province in the Netherlands, a replica from the 70s, it's supposed to be a tool to keep a lace hat in place (sometimes worn under the headpiece, sometimes over)

En er zijn foto’s te zien van schoondochter en fotografe Eva Besnyö (1910-2003, Boedapest, Hongarije). De foto’s tonen het harde en eenvoudige leven in dit arbeidersdorp…
