💥 Race Report 💥⠀ I had a great race on Saturday at the MRSI Challenge XC and ended up with a Win.⠀ Thanks to @mrsi609 for a great course with good flagging. No issues navigating. I got off around 5 place on the start and battled with Dennis, Calvin, Howard, Lyndon and a few others. Coming into the meadow after the first little loop, Howard crossed over to my line and I almost tagged a tree trying not to nail him as I was trying to pass. I bet he didn't even know. 😎 Can't wait to see the helmet cam footage of that. On the main loop I followed a number of folks through the tight single track and some of the 40A riders let me pass. Not so for the Intermediates, they were not budging and the trail was very tight. Then a cluster of Intermediates went down in front of me just as they entered a quad trail. Luckily I was able to get around them and ride by myself for a while. I was chasing @7thirtyseven the whole time. 👊✊⠀ I got to the steep drop into the rocky side-hill single-track where @drtryder777 was manning the decent and rode with @carterlowry70 for a bit before the huge parking lot style line up for the star punch. I walked down to the check and tried to help @travissydor punch his card, tried to punch my card. Punch was broken but I didn't think to try to squeeze the business end of the punch together like @jbsracing did. After walking back up to my bike, I announced that it was a broken star shaped punch and to carry on with that information. Then I rode away and enjoyed a clear track for pretty much the rest of the race. 👊✊👍⠀ The new trail was very fun but a little tricky. The front wheel was always deflecting off hidden roots and it sent me over the bars once. Hit a hill that had sweepers and other riders all over it but lucky for me no one was in the main line. ⠀ Did a bit of back and forth with @bradelder26 before finishing the race.⠀ Thanks to my wonderful @cycleworkscalgary sponsor who helps me out immensely.
