Hello amazingly KC writer! This KC Wednesday we are hosting a discussion on writing this week and posing questions to the talented writers in our fan base. We would like to discuss your stories, inspiration, plots and dialogue. We will be posting a questionnaire for readers and the following questions for writers: What's your finest hour? What piece of writing are you truly proud of? Is there something that you slacked over that you just want to tell someone about? Can't wait for your answers!
I don’t think I can answer this one. But, I was happiest writing The Bad One. It was such a romantic write for me. I played jazz and older music with such meaning. marisol40 recommended some songs too. At times I would get teary eyed especially writing chapter 2. It was all very emotional and the whole thing was like an adventure.
What piece of writing are you truly proud of?
Right now, Queen of the North. I am so happy to have completed. Everything about it was plotted and planned carefully. I had an outline so extensive it shocked me. I am not a patient person and I started writing but didn’t publish until like 6 months later and for me, that is a lot of self restraint.
It was the first of my stories that I wrote completely after I made the decision to try to better myself as a writer so it’s a bit of a symbol for me.
Is there something that you slacked over that you just want to tell someone about?
I slacked a bit with my supporting characters. I wish I had given Marcel even more time. He and Katherine were my favorite supporting characters on the novel. Full disclosure, I was tempted at times to put those two together. I thought they would make an explosive pairing. I considered killing Elijah and Nadia or making Elijah go dark side and ending with Elena, creating a full inter-family war. But I couldn’t make myself do it.
