Is anybody gonna mention the subtle hoshikaf??

Hoshina is confirmed as one of Kafka's friends! I don't think Kafka has referred to Hoshina as his friend until now. It's always just "that's the vice captain and I don't want to let him down" but now he's a "caring friend" :)

(Please correct me if I'm wrong though, I do forget small details!)

No but like the implications of the latest chapter...

So if Kafka wins (and he might not, considering that NO ONE has EVER won against this kaiju before) he'll be part of the Kaiju no. 8 hive mind forever. Permanently!

Best case scenario Kafka retains at least SOME of his "self" and can live as a Kaiju peacefully alongside humans. Maybe even stay with the defense force!

Worst case scenario.... He gets lost in the sauce and somebody might have to kill Kafka... FUCK

Some thoughts about KN8 118 (ft. some season 2 AoT spoilers)

Okay, so we are slowly getting more information about the link between kaiju and humans. Now, we see that a human heart can, through unclear means, be turned into a kaiju core.

The chapter seems to suggest that it's the shame, regret, and will of the humans who died to kaiju that made it possible for a heart to turn into a core, but personally, I'm not really buying it lol. I still think there has to be some influence from the parasitic kaiju that made it possible. (Because if it was just a mass of human emotions that caused it, then there would be more people like Kafka who can turn into kaiju, And surely over time that phenomenon would have been discovered and documented if it was happening to multiple people. The parasitic kaiju are the outlying factors here imo, but alas, perhaps we'll be given new information soon that will disprove that.)

But still, the fact that a human heart can turn into a kaiju core at all suggests that there's some base connection between the two. I'm looking forward to learning more about this and, hopefully, learning more about the origin of kaiju.

Not to draw another AoT comparison, but wouldn't it be funny if the kaiju were humans all along lol
