Part One//Part Two//Part Three//Part Four//Part Five
“Are you absolutely sure?”
“Yes! Just do it, okay?!” This was probably the sixth time Calum had asked him, but Jason had had all night to think it over, he made his peace with the decision. Calum still seemed hesitant, he took his time going to choose his weapon. Him procrastinating was just making Jason more anxious, he just wanted to get it over with.
“You know this won’t heal as quickly as some other things, right?” He said. Jason had spent the last few days with untreated fingers, he figured he could deal.
“I don’t care. It’s not like I’ve been doing a lot of walking around here anyway.”
“And if I do this, you won’t be doing much walking for a long, long time.”
“I don’t care.” He repeated.
“It won’t just be one hit and it’s over. I have to make sure it’s broken.” Calum picked up the hammer, thought better of it, and grabbed the crowbar instead.
“Stop talking and just do it!” He huffed.
“You are by far the most demanding victim I’ve ever had.” Calum sighed. “Get over here then. It might be the last time you walk on your own for years.” Jason had been untied as soon as Calum got there, given a short breath of freedom before he went through with this. Calum had even brought him a spare shirt, covering the large, dark bruise on his stomach. He went over and Calum had him sit on the desk, wincing as the shirt fabric rubbed against his fresh wounds. “Maybe spread your legs a little more so I don’t catch the other by accident.” He tapped his left knee with the end of the crowbar and Jason did as he said. “Ready?”
“R-Ready…” He gripped the edge of the desk so hard his knuckles turned white, but it was the only thing he had to steady himself. Calum gave him one last look, as if to say he could still change his mind, but he was set on this. He reeled back, and with a loud CRACK the bar connected with his left knee. It was hard to hear over Jason’s shriek of pain though. He lurched forward, suddenly grabbing Calum’s arm, as if trying to curl in on himself and protect himself from another blow. Calum let him hold on to him, not even flinching as his nails dug into his skin. Though Jason was crying, he made no move to comfort him, not even sure how to if he could.
“Jason… I have to do it again…” He said softly after a few moments. Jason choked out a sob, nodding as he slowly, shakily leaned back. He squeezed his eyes shut this time, he couldn’t bear to watch. Seconds later the bar slammed into his knee again and he screamed, somehow even louder than before. The pain was making him nauseous all over again, he was glad he was wearing pants so he wouldn’t have to see the damage. Calum set the bar aside, and he gave Jason a few moments to himself before speaking again. “I have to make sure it’s broken, okay…?”
“Of course it’s fucking broken!” Jason snapped at him, voice cracking and tears rolling down his face.
“I’m just doing my job.” He said gently, glancing around for a moment before looking back at him. “Here, you should probably bite down on something.” He grabbed the hem of the shirt Jason was wearing and suddenly yanked it up, forcing it between his teeth and muffling the startled cry from him. He bit down on it anyway, clenching his teeth so hard he feared they may crack. Calum gave him an apologetic look before suddenly grabbing his knee, causing Jason to screech. He grabbed Calum’s wrist but his grip was weak with only one good hand, he couldn’t push it away. Calum applied more and more pressure until Jason was frantically shaking his head, his cries muffled. Finally, he let go, pulling the fabric from Jason’s mouth. “Sorry, about that…” Jason couldn’t even muster a reply, almost hugging himself as he sobbed.
Carefully, Calum helped him off the table. Every inched he moved caused pain to shoot through his knee, the only pain he could focus on was his knee. He couldn’t straighten his leg, and he certainly couldn’t walk, Calum had to help him to lie down on the floor. He apologized as he bound his wrists, in front of him this time. He didn’t bother with his ankles, they both knew he wasn’t going anywhere.
“I’ll be right back, okay?” He told him, leaving him there. Jason couldn’t do much more than lay there and cry. There was no comfortable position he could get into, everything put too much pressure on his knee, and just moving to get into that position was agonizing. Eventually Calum came back, bringing a bottle of water with him. He helped Jason into a sitting position, just causing him to cry more.
“Hey, hey, calm down.” He said softly. “Here, drink this okay? It’ll make you feel better.” Jason didn’t see how drinking water could help the pain he was in, but when Calum raised the bottle to his lips he gratefully downed the whole thing. Calum gently laid him back down, sitting beside him. Before he knew it his eyelids were growing heavy, his vision clouding over, and after only a few moments he drifted off into a painless, comfortable unconsciousness
***.
Once he was completely asleep Calum sighed and stood up, leaving his room for now. He had hoped so badly that he wouldn’t ask for something horrible, so of course he just had to ask for a broken kneecap. It had been years and Calum’s knee still aches from time to time, and that was with the proper medical care. He tried to talk him down from it but Jason wasn’t having it, stubborn as ever. The only comfort he could offer him was a drugged drink once it was all said and done. He deserved a long, uninterrupted rest. He’d let him sleep the day away and then hopefully that night he could give him a nice surprise, a small reward for all he’d gone through. He deserved that much.
