I meant to make a whole reference sheet for these guys before posting this, but alas I never did because instead I spent too long figuring out the fine details of their anatomy. oops!
'Kneeves' are a spec bio domesticated animal, for which I don't really have any concrete setting - but, they could easily be injected into a range of fantasy or sci-settings.
They are sort of a mix of a goat and dog in terms of use and ecology, and can be both livestock and working animals. They have iron-reinforced skeletons, with some parts on their face (the blade and eye sheaths) having a coating of nearly pure metal. They use the blade on their face to clear vegetation, harvest food, and to fight both predators and rivals. In the wild, they come from dense jungle ecosystems, where they preform a key role in clearing paths that both the kneeves themselves, and many other animals, use to get around more quickly on the forest floor.
