i love her weird magnetic field. carrying an omen so heavy that death is pulled into her gravity. a body that knows the cosmos!

march quasar sketch requests! very very touched to have been given free reign to pick my own ocs for TWO of these :') long time no dogwood!! long time no knell... and i love getting to revisit others' characters requested in months past... some familiar faces w new prompts!

YAAYY v0.1 of Knell's design!!! there's a handful of periphery outfits/variations on these at different points in the story.. some #thoughts below...

her body tattoos are still a wip, but i like the blue ink and the ear star <3333

base layer: SPORTS BANDAGE OVERDRIVE!!!!!!!! she's only functionally immortal, not impervious to damage and strain (though she does heal quickly, if the environment is conducive). so the bandages help keep her posture correct, and her joints supported on her epic landscape hikes. inspired by patterns on egyptian mummy wrappings and inspired by ergonomic support gear!!!

workwear: THE DESIGN I AM MOST UNCERTAIN ABOUT!!!! it's the absolute minimum of radiation shielding / maximum ease of mobility. non-Harbingers (normal, mortal people) wear MUCH bulkier, physically radiation-stopping clothing, in general and Especially when travelling aboveground. for the most part, her healing tattoos protect her from radiation sickness, and these padded and metal shielding layers are for added comfort in the long haul. priority is to protect her major organs and bone marrow, so brain/torso/hips. having fun playing with cooled-magma lumpy asymmetry in the metalwork. very nausicaa inspired. i'm trying to work like 60:40 fantasy-scifi sensibilities, but which one holds the majority keeps shifting. this one's gonna change a LOT. surface weather is the biggest threat on knellworld cus the planet is like 10k years out from becoming uninhabitable, and for the past 1-3000 years, inhabitants have moved their major civilizations underground. and vastly shrunk in size. (galaxy in slow collapse, proximity of other stars/star systems fucking up the system's heliosphere, the planet's magnetosphere, etc., unstable and irradiated environment, life goes on, a carless and gentler mad max fury road)

casual clothing: A RARITY!!! she spends most of her time at home (oracle garden stronghold) and thus wearing sleepwear or temple garb, or out fulfilling harbinger duties and thus in armour. knellworld story is the first time she stays at length in other cities, and finds herself exploring clothing for comfort and self-expression, largely borrowed/gifted from kind strangers. silly note but she adores her black swipe of eye makeup because it makes her eyes pop.

im rambling lmfao I HAVE BEEN HAVING A BLAST thinking of how the role of a harbinger has changed from generation 0 during the first big push to tunnel below the earth, to generation Knell LOL lots of body horror and strangeness in the history that isn't relevant to her story. her story is about [a loud foghorn blares]

wip 1 is my annual Loam experiment piece... sometimes i need to have no plan in order to remember how good it feels to HAVE a plan... but this one is nearly done!!! I THINK. LAST PUSH

aaand wip 2 is a lineup of Knell and the awesome comrades she ghosts for 10k years. with character design i tend to work. backwardsss...? meaning i will over-complicate things at initial conception and then pare them down with each iteration after. Here they are all wearing their awesome posture-support xtreme sportscience base layers before an Excursion
