1984 UK paperback of Knight Rider 2: Trust Doesn't Rust. Adapts the first season episode Trust Doesn't Rust which featured KARR, KITT's prototype, who had turned evil! So many of these shows featured a character with an evil double.
In the TV episode KARR (Knight Automated Roving Robot) was voiced by Peter Cullen - the original voice of Optimus Prime.
Steven E. de Souza, the episode writer, also did the screenplays for a number of action films of the 80's and 90's with the high point probably being Die Hard. The South American country of Val Verde, his fictional creation, also appears or is mentioned in Commando, Die Hard 2 and other works.
