Damn it. I can still hear her breathing. How am I supposed to function in the mornings like this?
At least I was able to convince her to sleep outside my room. Still, this thin door is hardly enough to effectively put distance between us. Still, it’s better her being here than a certain other pushy, red girl. At least with Saber, I can sometimes create a rational if ‘witty,’ as she said, argument for why she should accept some of my personal requests, such as our sleeping conditions. Tohsaka, on the other hand, I’m sure would sleep right on top of me, in spite of any of my protests, if that’s what she had already decided.
I’m making this morning even more difficult on myself. It’s about time I started getting ready anyway. Out of the three of us that should be here this morning, I’m the only one qualified to produce edible food. The battle from my room to the bath is hard fought, but worth the struggle. Freshened by a hot shower, I confidently stride into the kitchen and set about making a feast worthy of my Servant and the wild animal impatiently lounging at my table.
Several minutes later, all that remains is to serve the items I’ve prepared. I can’t risk placing the food in front of Fuji-Nee while she’s alone, or there might not be a breakfast left to eat when I return. Now is the best time to wake the beautiful swordswoman I’ve allied myself to. Her habitual slumber is beneficial in both preserving her magical energy and preventing her from growing bored over her solitude in my home.
Unfortunately, I’m still far too much of a coward to enter her room without permission. Courtesy aside, I don’t think the sight of her sleeping figure would do my already hormone addled mind any favors. Knocking on the barrier forcefully enough to create a decent disturbance, I call out to her.
“Saber, breakfast is about ready. Knowing Fuji-Nee, we should hurry if we want any.”
