A Wild Anomaly

Where had all this wilderness come from? Where were these powerful legs carrying him to? The questions were unanswered as the world shown to him obscurely was moving quickly through a forest of tall pines. Subtle scents made it past the mask, it was fresh, there were....sounds. Sounds of people and their cars in the distance. No, no no, he was not going to harm a town. In a struggle for control, the large panther-esque creature swayed and staggered in its sprint, tumbling downhill into the side of a building. A loud racket was made from its impact, knocking Gavin and what he had become unconscious.

A Long Journey

“I don’t want to trouble you or anything like that.... But I’ve been walking for a bit, I feel like I should probably eat something.” Leo’s sense of hunger had dwindled and left him since the experimentation on him. His only inclination was a slight difference in strength or ease of moving.

8. a goodbye letter. 

      Scrawled on a scrap of paper and left weighted by a smooth river stone resided the last letter Fox would ever write to Sebastian. The tilt of her handwriting was rushed, they were leaving soon, she didn’t know until it was too late. Yet, she had found time to write her last goodbye, a letter that hardly conveyed her feelings. 

      Sebastian,             I’ve only just discovered that my family is leaving this hamlet of             ours to return where the air is colder and crisper. Home is on the            horizon now and though I hate to leave this warm place and those            I have met within it, I am happy to return. Do not be sad, Sebastian,            perhaps one day we will meet again in the future, no one yet knows            the path that they walk. Yours may lead you wondrous places, don’t            forget that and don’t give up on yourself. This world has been cruel,             but after each night the sun rises. The horses are neighing, I must go.            I have so much more to say, but I fear I will not have time to recount            my thoughts here. You are wise, I’m sure you know all that I wish to             say already. Kylo looked at the floor and his left side. There was a large blood stain on his dark shirt. “I guess it did get me.”

Kylo stood there and looked at him. He yawned despite himself. “Are you sure? I am still a stranger.”

“A lot of people have gone missing here. Be careful.”

Kylo looked at him. “Where did you hear that nonsense?” He asked as he looked at the man.
