it's so funny how flirty manomitsu dialogue can be read as but it's funnier how it's only flirty in the context of these two being the biggest chess freaks in the entirety of ace attorney

look it all makes sense. Simeon and Bronco were in a friends with benefits situation with both of them being in love with the other (even if Simeon would never admit it) but never confessing, then Bronco and Miles were into each other and would have hooked up but Bronco died, then Simeon and Miles were into each other and Miles would have taken him out (bigg building) but then Simeon goes to jail, then Miles's friend Simon goes to jail and meets Simeon where they start an on-and-off hook-up kind of situationship but Bronco's ghost is haunting the jail and he's jealous so he's trying to scare Simon off but he's kinda into Simon at the same time so it's like a love triangle with a ghost that they're unaware is in the room even if they can tell things are Off. Miles is still visiting both Simeon and Simon through visitation hours in jail and somehow he's the one to figure out Bronco's a ghost now but he's also denying it because he doesn't believe in ghosts but he's still into Ghost Bronco while being into Simeon also.

I've been thinking of soutamitsu fateswap AU again where Simeon gets adopted by Manfred while Miles stays at the orphanage. like a Simeon raised by Manfred is scary as shit considering he already accomplished so much with what little he had, imagine how things would go if he had the resources of a Von Karma.

like, all that he achieved in aai2 happens while he's constantly on the run, living on a circus salary and with barely any proper education, AND he's only caught bc he kept giving Miles hints (cause he's gay). imagine how he'd be if he had all the von Karma privileges.

Kanis wasn't even trying to shape Simeon into an assassin but one of Simeon's biggest inspirations was to become like him so he'd "stop being prey". imagine Manfred ACTIVELY encouraging him to be like him. scary. not sure Miles could save this Simeon then. or maybe he could with the power of homosexuality who knows.

but also throwing manomitsu into the mix (because I can) I wonder if Miles and Bronco would have become friends as they both end up in the same orphanage. bonding over their memory loss and losing their fathers, both becoming chess freaks... maybe having each other since kids could make them grow into somewhat healthier adults, or maybe with both of them being traumatized and having no support they'd make each other worse.

Miles thinking he killed his father, and Bronco thinking he killed Simeon (since Simeon is immediately adopted after arriving to the orphanage, and with Bronco's muddy memories due to the cold shock and trauma of it all, well...).

how would Bronco meeting Simeon again impact their relationship. would Miles being there for Bronco prevent him from being manipulated by Simeon if Miles is there to try and protect him. idk

despite shipping manosouta, soutamitsu and saintquill I do it all for different reasons.

manosouta is to psychologically torture Simeon and physically torture Bronco

soutamitsu is because I like the trope of a character being rehabilitated but also I like Miles torture

saintquill is to psychologically torture Simon

then I shipp manomitsu and Bronco x Simon (blackknight ? knightquill ?) because I actually think that's their happy ending. like best possible outcome for them. manomitsu and knightquill are me taking care of Bronco and giving him a kiss on his forehead
