Finally, it's finished. My new 221b jumper. Took me longer than I anticipated but it turned out just fine in the end. Knitted with 5mm needles; yarn: 70% Baby Alpaca, 25% Virgin Wool, 5% Polyamide, two colours.

Sherlock Scarf - part II: patterns

Thank you for all the notes! Here are some close-ups and charts of the patterns I worked into my Sherlock scarf, as requested. I used Kg-chart Le for cross stitch (free download here) to draw the coloured patterns.

1. John's cable knit jumper: I looked at screen-caps and this excellent instruction and tweaked the pattern a little so it fit the 72 stitches.

2. Buffalo skull with head phones: my own pattern (though I'm sure it must have been done before)

3. crime scene - do not cross: my own pattern

4. London black cab: my own pattern. I googled pictures of London cabs for reference

5. The Army Doctor: My own pattern. This picture was used as reference.

6. Mycroft's umbrella: my own pattern

7. Sherlock's violin: based on this pattern, unfortunately it's not free.

8. The Riding Crop: my own pattern

I hope the links will work (please let me know if you have problems). The other patterns are not mine and can be found here. I used a no.4 needle and a 50% Virgin Wool/ 50% Acrilic yarn.

FINISHED! Now, I have my own Sherlock scarf. Thank you professorfonz for the wonderful idea and the great collection of patterns! (You can find her Infinity Sherlock Scarf here) I used some of her patterns and additionally designed some of my own.

From bottom to top this scarf includes Mariarty's skull tie, John's cable knit jumper, buffalo skull with headphones, crime scene tape, John's christmas jumper, London black cab, the Army Doctor, IOU apple, 221B wallpaper, 221B skull, Mycroft's umbrella, Sherlock's violin, the riding crop, Irene's wallpaper, poison and Molly's cherries.

It's about 2m long and it took me about 4 weeks to complete. (I might have been quicker if my job hadn't been so busy.)
