Make Me! - Two Hour Hat in Pixie Dust Mini
Mia's girlfriend Sorcha had a birthday this past Saturday. Since I wasn't paying any attention to the birthday party schedule, there was no gift..not one..not anywhere.
This is when being a knitter is so super useful!
Presenting: Ice Skating Cap by Fancy Tiger Crafts
Knit with one skein Knit Collage Pixie Dust Mini
US 10.5 - 16" circular & DPNs or 32" or longer US 10.5 for magic loop method
I started this in the shop prior to opening at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday. By 2:00 p.m. it was finished! The knitting took only two hours -- I was helping lovely customers in between.
Mia seemed lukewarm to the idea of my making Sorcha a hat for a gift. That is, until I got it home, and she changed her mind completely. Mia's asked me to make her one in the Crystal Avalanche color with a few stripes of Valentine (shown) to use up leftovers from Sorcha's hat.
I added the braided strings myself by cutting six strands, 32" long each and attaching three to each earflap. I braided the strands, knotted the bottoms, and voila -- a hat a kid won't remove even in summer in L.A.
Maybe it's time to start with holiday gifts. A one skein hat in a few hours that looks this great is a thing to behold.
Kits for this project are available here.

I think my heart just stopped.
