I woke up at 6 am because I forgot to turn off my work alarm and I went downstairs and ate a cinnamon roll and drank like 6 cups of tea until 8 when my brother finally rolled out of bed, complaining about how early it was. We opened presents and had our annual scavenger hunt for the last present, and then we cleaned up and I took a two hour nap. I've got a headache (from too much candy I bet) and I forgot to bring my knitting or cross stitch to my parents so I'm very bored. We were planning on going to Chicago tomorrow to return some Christmas presents and whatever, but it may be too crowded so my brother and dad said no. Oh also my aunt gave me some really beautiful red matte lipstick and as soon as I put it on I gave my mom and dad the biggest thank you kisses and now they're both sporting big lovely red lip marks on their cheeks!

Being friends with me means I won't text you for weeks on end, and then in twenty minutes you'll get two dog gifs, a job posting in your field, and thirty four emojis. I am very forgetful, but God dammit I care.

So I still don't know if I have a job for the fall...

Next week I start half time hours, the following week I go back to school, and still no one's given me an official "you can stay" talk or note or whatever.

My boss has brought up all the stuff we're gunna do before the fiscal year ends in October, but no news on if I'll even make it to September. Also, I may even get transfered to a different department (which would be hella rad, not that I don't love my job telling people what to do, but my potential next job would be that PLUS DATA ANALYSIS and who wouldn't be excited for that? Excel macros anyone? Heh?).

But my HR rep keeps saying stuff like "you'll know at the end of the week" and "none of our decisions are final yet," which is super weird. I'm still not sure if I need to find a job or not haha. I'll probably just be a barista if I can, something a bit less stressful. But that's also a HUGE paycut, so...I hope I can stay on.

People person

I have a major presentation in front a hundred people on August 6th. It will determine whether I can stay on at the company I work for in the fall. I need to get money for college, so I'm working part time while I go to school, and if I can keep this job in the fall I'm so friggin set. Its an awesome job that pays really well and they're even talking about a rotation for me so I can see ither pieces of the business. I'd be sad to leave my manager, because he really is pretty darn cool and I love my job. And, if this all pans out, I'd be a shoe in for the Leadership Development Program, which is the fast track to management. So really my entire future is riding on this presentation. I went to the chiropractor today and she said my neck is as tense as when we first started. Did you guess that I'm stressed out? Cuz I am. I'm gunna go knit something and watch tv. Maybe that'll help.

Sooo...im just now realizing that all of the Chinese characters I've been seeing in people's text posts aren't part of some new fad....its just tumblr fucking up emojis....i thought it was a new thing that I was super out of the loop on...frick frack....😅

So my boyfriend and I are super serious, like we've talked about getting married a billion times and we've planned most of it out, down to about when he's gunna propose. But the whole bridesmaid thing kinda has me worried. I don't really have a lot of friends, and the friends I do have we aren't very close. At this point in time, i have the maid of honor picked out, and I'd probably have his sister since she's pretty cool. But like, I'm not close to any of my female cousins, and I wouldn't really feel comfortable asking any of my other friends to be in my wedding. I think I'm going to try and make more friends who are girls. This'll be my motivation, a full wedding. Okay. Only like, two or three years to make close friendships. Lets go.
