btw, ftrunks probably has photos of gohan, bulma and knives in his jacket's pocket.

gohan's one was because bulma wanted a photo of the two of them eating (they looked funny asf).

bulma's one was because bulma wanted a new photo of mother and son.

and the last one... it was taken by him, bc he wanted to preserve the moment with knives and his mother.

i think trunks wasn't very fan to take many photos in his childhood, he was embarrassed to even be in the photos, but then he began to appreciate it, bc he could remember gohan and have him with himself anywhere

because of that, he also wanted to have his mother and his best friend with him

he just wants to preserve the memories of his loved ones and keep them in his heart. forever.

in my timeline, future trunks smiles and laughs a lot because future knives is there, she's the one who makes a lot of jokes, who trains and share hobbies with him.

her presence comforts him.

maybe, having a friend who understand his pain is all he's ever needed.

she FEELS his pain and yet she remains hopeful. they're both hope in different ways, but they're still each other's hope.

both are destined to save the world and suffer at the expense of it.

that's why they’re best friends, because they understand each other's pain and burden.

even if their world disappears, they'll carry the memories of those they loved.

knives is going to carry bulma's legacy as a engineer and trunks is going to carry gohan's memory as a warrior

and, both are going to carry the memories they've together in their erased world.

their 15 years of memories...
