My Poem to the Parks.

Parks and Recreation gave me more than inspiration,

It gave me confidence, knowledge, and determination.

Leslie taught me how to fight through discrimination.

And I empathized with Jerry’s fart attacks and constipation.

Ron Swanson introduced me to campfires and whiskey

And in real life, him and Evil Tammy do get frisky!

That’s some hard-core role-play. Method Acting is risky.

Tom and Donna gave me the best advice,

Treat. Yo. Self. You have to go somewhere nice,

Like the mall or the movies, get a pedicure twice,

Eat a fancy dinner, don’t have to tell me thrice.

Andy and April. Your true love was found

Like a three legged dog that follows you around.

It’s the best kind of love where one foot stays off the ground.

Chris and Anne, also a beautiful pair.

His eyes, her hair,

body, ethnic flare,

His health, her care,

Everything was there.

Benn Wyatt, it was certainly a pleasure,

Your Game of Thrones knowledge, I could never measure.

A nerd like you is a true treasure.

Oh, such wonderful characters to leave behind.

Especially Leslie Knope, a character so hard to find.

But it’s nice to know I can keep her in mind,

When I’m browsing on Netflix, and want to rewind

Thank you Parks and Rec, you were such a great show.
