Last summer I got up early ( very, very early) to go do a shoot downtown with @alexashmanphotos . We just wanted the chance to take photos with no one in the background. I stood on this corner and in the street while we giggled and took pics. It was easy & a privilege. Last night I watched my city stand in that same street for a very different reason. To stand up for their rights, to be treated as equals, to be heard. As a business I know the downfall of taking sides but as a person I know how important it is. This is America, we are a capitalistic country and I choose the side of the people. I refuse to give another dime to systematic racism’s right to anyone who employs this kind of hate. I refuse to be quiet; not then, not now, & not tomorrow. It’s time to end inequality in the US, but it’s way past the time to end police brutality.
