The blond glanced around the darkened hallways, shining his flashlight in the direction of the soft music. He always enjoyed music boxes, their sound was always unique albeit usually playing some sort of haunted melody.
“Though I’m assuming music boxes playing in a powerless, abandoned building isn’t a good sign.”

No one could have anticipated the course of events that hit Koi city with the coming of Halloween. No one except perhaps fanatic prophets preaching of an upcoming apocalypse who were now rubbing their little hands in excitement. It was like something straight out of one of his games. Deads walking the streets, threatening the living. And here he was. An entity who could not be harmed, and hence could not fear them for anything but their grotesque appearances. But one thing did worry him.
“Keiko-chan...” Why did it even bother him so much? She wouldn’t be stupid enough to walk outside in a situation like this, and she wasn’t even his problem in the first place! All she ever did was upset him, tease him, yell at him, bully him... he was always so annoyed at her. So there was no reason to be walking around worrying for her safety--...
Was that her over there? Was that one of those freaks charging at her from behind?!
“WATCH OUT!!” came the yell, and before he even knew what was going on, he found his legs move and his body place itself between girl and monster, before an arm towards his neck send him flying a few metres back and collapse on the ground with a loud crash.
