Cryptid of the Day: Koao
Description: In 1937, on the Marquesas Island of Hiva Oa, a particular bird was seen by Thor Heyerdahl while horseback riding. He described the bird as flightless, resembling a sea gull, with vestigial wings, bluish-purple plumage and yellow bills and legs. Scientists disagree whether or not the bird is extinct, or if it even existed to begin with.
