i think anxiety can manifest in many different forms, and yuuri certainly exhibits classic signs like self loathing and isolation (he was definitely also whiny). HOWEVER, they decided to "fix" him in the anime by having his childhood idol appear and fall in love with him. Anxiety gone. Poof. Eros like nbd. The "power of love" perhaps but it was so unrealistic???
