the end of her pen was caught in between her teeth as her brain did its best to formulate sentences. it usually was not this hard to write songs for her, especially with her type of creativity. she thought it was a sign that she should go to bed.
it had been several hours and there were more scribbles over possible lyrics and tiny doodles of boredom. she started nodding off when her office door slammed open.
“HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!”
she screamed, dropping her notebook and almost completely falling out of her chair. her heart raced seeing her two favorite boys come in with a cake.
she stood to her feet, walking towards them as she rubbed her eyes.
“HAPPY BIRTHDAY LEE MOONJI!” She cringed at how out of sync luca and ozlo were, laughing it off and smiling.
“make a wish mum!” luca widened his eyes, she completely forgot to make a wish.
she folded her hands and closed her eyes, taking a few seconds before opening them and blowing out all the candles.
“is it really that late?” she chuckled nervously, sticking her finger into the icing to get a bite.
“it is 12:01″ ozlo pulled his phone out, showing her the time.
“yeah, he couldn’t get his lighter to work at 11:59-”
“luoyong” He spoke lowly, threatening him.
“you boys were waiting at my door? how sweet”
“it was dad’s idea”
“no son-”
before they could go back and forth, koko ruffled her fingers through the young boys hair, then planting a kiss on ozlo’s cheek.
“thank you children” she giggled, grabbing the cake from them and leaving the room.
