Erik couldn’t say he wasn’t expecting to be approached because that much would have been a given, but he expected to be approached by someone that would be a bit more forceful than this.
Turning away from the man he had been serving, who quickly scurried away upon seeing the men before him, Erik peered at the taller man for a long moment, a neutral look on his face.
“Can I help you?”
"Why don't you put that phone away and do something fun, Alyx?" She'd know that voice anywhere-- Kol, the exact person she'd been getting ready to text. Alyx's head shot up and her eyes met his. She smiled brightly. He looked stunningly handsome dressed in the tux. "I thought you didn't want to come?" He scoffed, stepping closer to her. "And miss my girlfriend all dressed up? I think not. Care to dance, darling?"
AU: Alyx and Kol meet at a ball. Something comes up, but he convinces her to stay-- against her better judgement. It all started with a simple greeting.
"Kol Mikaelson. Pleasure to meet you."
"Alyx Ryland. Pleasure, as well."

"I sort of have to go. I'm really sorry, Kol."
"No, stay. I promise you, you won't regret it."
