These two have really grown on me and that’s partially due to Tanakaempire’s roulette fics--in particular Community Gardens! If you’re interested in an awesome Sdr2 retelling with these two as the main focus then please give it a read!
Ah, missed two days but at least I have something for the last day of this wonderful event! ^-^
HEY ROXAS WHAT DID YOU DO WITH KAIRI!? | Komaka | Open to Oneiro | Chapter 5
Once again, Komaka found herself sitting in Oneiro’s room. This time though she wasn’t like her usual self. She seemed... more distant. More reclusive.
“... I had a dream,” Komaka said “the first one I can vividly remember anyway.”
“No lie this time either. I... I had it last night. I was there. Sitting at my desk at Hopes Peak. Except it wasn’t Hopes Peak. It was my elementary school. Except it was also my middle school. Except it was also the prison. I dunno. It was all those things at once.”
“I was sitting there... alone. Everyone around me was just a shadow. One of the shadows came up and told me I should go drink some water. So I went to the fountain and as I drank the shadows started to look more like people. Some had hair or eyes or fingernails or teeth. And I kept drinking because I knew that if I stopped drinking they’d go back to just being shadows. I drank and I drank until I started to drown. Then I coughed up the water.”
She turned her head over and looked at the sitting girl who was most likely taking notes on her.
“Once I was done spitting it out the shadows began laughing and speaking to each other in sign language. I don’t know how you speak in sign language. Don’t recall how they did it either. Then one of the shadows looked to me and tried to wave me over but I was afraid because I thought it was his leg and not his arm and I thought he was gonna kick me.”
“Then I tried to pull the fountain out of the wall so I could take it with me but I was too weak. Then... then I realized there were too many shadows and I had to escape. But I couldn’t find the exit. The signs kept telling me I had to go up but there were no ladders anywhere! There were only ladders leading downward! Then I curled up into a ball and started singing ‘Friend Like Me’. You know that Aladdin song? Then I saw a shadow walking up to me waving his leg around and I woke up sweating.”
Komaka looked to Oneiro, her eyes wide and her lips twitching.
“Do... do you understand any of that?” Komaka asked.
“Ding dong! A body has been discovered! After a short period of investigation, the trial will begin!”
So… someone did go for it? What? You scramble up from your position and head towards the ritual room.
As you approach, you notice Oneiro sits outside of it, covering her ears and squinting her eyes shut. Immediately after, your eyes fall upon what sits beyond the open doorway.
The air of the ritual room has always had an ominous feel to it. But as you walk in now the feeling is intoxicating. The scent of various metals, ritual parts and objects not only fills your nostrils but also the distinct smell of blood. Who's blood? Well that's the sad part of all this. For on the ground in the center of the ritual room is the sacrifice.
Komaka Shinko lays there. Her head bleeding, her torso cut into and blood dripping from the back of her right hand, emphasizing the many different directions her fingers had been broken. A similar cut sits on her left cheek Her eyes are closed now and her body is sprawled out.
Surrounding her body is an ominous circle drawn in blood, more simplistic than the one in the center of the ritual room. At the edges, words are written. “Satan, Malphas, Isaiah, Legion.” Ominous.
Komaka’s isn’t the only body laid out on the floor. Not too far from the doorway is Kyohei, unconscious, but still breathing. Was this the new norm for the newlywed? Regardless,
Chieko, sits beside him, checking to make sure he’s okay, and otherwise caring for her husband. She attempts to maintain an aura of calm during the action.
Chikako, looking wildly beat up and bruised, stands there and mutters something barely audible. "S-she...." Chikako can barely speak, too exasperated to even breath properly. ".... she saved me."
It almost looks like she's just asleep in some sort of nightmare and could wake up at any moment but you know that's not the case. Komaka... the super highschool level despair... is dead. She wasn't competent or talented in anything... and yet... she was a good person. Deep down anyway. Nobody here really understood her and perhaps that was the true despair she left you with.

Body location - Ritual Room
Time of death - 12:46 AM
Cause of death - Exsanguination
Time of discovery - 6:32 AM

Lets do this again... | Komaka | Open to Oneiro | Post Motive
Komaka sat down on the bed next to Oneiro. She found new Oneiro... interesting. She wasn’t sure what the heck the deal was but her chipper attitude kinda bothered her. Still though, perhaps if she reminded Oneiro of who or what she was it might help?
“So my next dream...” Komaka said as she began to explain what’d been going through her mind.
“Oneiro-chaaaan,” Komaka said as she approached a door while wearing what appeared to be a black or grey robe of sorts.
“I need help with this next test,” Komaka said as the door opened up. Revealing Oneiro to be wearing similar garb.
“You mean the test that’s about to go down in 30 minutes?” dream Oneiro said, sounding a lot more like her old self.
“Yes that one. I know I haven’t studied much... or anything... at all... but I really need to know how to cast this specific spell so that I can get a passing grade and become a great Magical Phantom Thief like Shining Kaito!” Komaka said as she held up a magic staff that turned into a gun.
“Well there is a potion I’ve been working on that’s said to make people smarter-” Dream Oneiro said as she side-eyed a bit.
“THAT’S PERFECT!” Little Witch Komaka answered.
Soon the two were inside with witch Chieko standing off to the side.
“Komaka! You know I don’t approve of cheating like this!” witch Chieko said.
“It’s not Cheating,” Komaka said, “I’m just using Oneiro’s brilliance potion to give me the knowledge I need to beat the test, be a great magical Phantom Thief like Shining Kaito, and then save the world and junk.”
“It’s ready,” Witch Oneiro said as she brought over a jar of glowing blue potion with an eye-dropper. “Say Aaaahhh” Oneiro said.
“AAAAAAA” witch Komaka said as she opened her mouth and Oneiro dripped in a bit. There was a pause.
“... nothing’s happened,” Komaka said.
“M-maybe your potion recipe was wrong?” Witch Chieko asked.
“Or maybe Komaka’s just an idiot,” Oneiro said.
“I’LL SHOW YOU IDIOT!” Komaka responded, very truthfully, as she grabbed the jar of strange blue potion and chugged it down in one gulp.
“kOMAKA!” Chieko shouted “DON’T GO DRINKING RANDOM POTIONS!”
“She’s going to die,” witch Oneiro said.
“Nah. I’ll be fine,” Komaka said as she put down the jar. “It’s not like I feel anything now anyway...
As the three of them walked out of their room toward the classroom they were stopped by three figures.
Chikako, Kayla and Takara.
“Why am I here?” witch Takara asked as Chikako laughed.
“LOL! LOOKS LIKE THE LOSER BRIGADE IS READY TO TAKE THE TEST!” Chikako mocked.
“Chikako-san please don’t call us that,” Chieko said.
“Yea only Komaka is the loser here,” Oneiro said as she pointed to Komaka.
“Listen Chikako-san. I may be the Worst Witch of this VERY ORIGINAL CONCEPT. I’m not very pretty either, covered in body hair to the point I’m Harry. Potters don’t like me either for all the vases I break. Neil Gaiman’s book of magic! Where was I going with this? ANYWAY what I wanted to say is that I WILL GAIN SHINING KAITO’S POWER!”
“LOL!” Chikako mocked “like YOU of anyone could get as cool as he is!”
“You think he’s cool?” Komaka asked.
“NO! SHUT UP!” Chikako shouted, “anyway you should-”
“Oooo-” Komaka clutched her head and suddenly... her eyes began to glow blue and balls of energy surrounded her.
“I HAVE SEEN BEYOND THE ELEMENTAL PLANES OF LAW AND ORDER. BEYOND THE SEVENTH VEIL OF THE SEVENTH WORLD OF THE SEVENTH ORDER OF CONSTELLATIONS. ITS POWER OPENS MY EYES. ITS STRENGTH GIVES ME THE POWER TO FIGHT.”
“Uh what-” Chikako begins but is then struck by a bolt of power. She is reduced to a skeleton.
“AHHH!” Chieko shouts.
“She drank too much,” Oneiro says as she is also struck by a bolt of lightning and reduced to a skeleton.
“ALL SHALL KNEEL AND BOW BEFORE MY INFINITE KNOWLEDGE!” Komaka said as she unleashed a powerful blast of energy that consumes the school.

Komaka invited Chikako and Kayla over to the jewelry store. Upon entering they could plainly see Komaka looking over the glass case which held the silver hairpin. Komaka could clearly be seen looking over the case.
“Oh. Hello,” Komaka greeted “you two are wondering why I invited you here right? Well uh... I wanna see if I can take this-” she gestures to the inside of the case “without sounding an alarm.”
“Can you two help me? I wanna... improve my thief skills.”
That’s an unusual thing for Komaka to want to do. Does she have some kind of ulterior motive? Either way stealing jewlery from a glass case seems a bit tricky. Will they be able to do it without killing each other? Probably not but lets watch this trainwreck.
Amazing Grace | Day 1: Morning | Chapter 5 | Komaka | Open to Chikako
The beach was calm this morning. The sun rose on the horizon and the waves crashed against the shore of the island. Chikako could see Komaka out on the beach although what she was doing she had no idea really. As she approached Komaka she could plainly see that Komaka had set up a mount of sand and dirt at the very front of the beach. Over it was a shoddily made wooden cross, little more than two sticks she probably found in the woods that were tied together with a bit of plastic. If Chikako examined the cross further she could see that the plastic tying the two sticks together was... most likely the ripped up remnants of a garbage bag she most likely got from her room. Oh.
Komaka gently put something on top of the mound of sand and dirt. Her hands were filthy, indicating she had most likely done this all with her weak arms and willpower. Impressive for the girl really. Komaka reached into her seifuku and pulled out a familiar pair of glasses. She gently lowered them onto the mound and then... clasped her hands together. Komaka begins to speak in very broken English.
... was she trying to say the Hail Mary? Was Kayla even Catholic? WHO KNOWS?
