I know how good you are at covering your tracks. ❞ A small smile was offered to indicate that Kuai Liang meant no harm as he approached the other, hands held up in a calming gesture as to not trigger them into a fight or flight response. Although Tomas had offered to accompany him, Kuai Liang had insisted on coming here to meet Hydro alone. With both of them having still been Lin Kuei the last time they had seen each other, he would not be surprised if Hydro was wary of his intentions. After all, the Lin Kuei did not take kindly to those who dared to turn their back on the clan, hunting down anyone who broke their oath to its grandmaster.

Any attempt to leave the Lin Kuei was considered an act of treason and while Kuai Liang didn't know the reason for Hydro's decision to abandon that life, he was hoping to maybe find an ally in his former clanmate. Hydro's skills would be invaluable to the Shirai Ryu, though that was not the only reason why the pyromancer had spent weeks trying to track them down. Concern for the other's safety had brought him here above all else. Up until this point, Outworld might have been a safe haven for Hydro but now that Bi-Han had Outworlders amongst his allies, the other's life was in danger more so than ever. Knowing his brother's ruthlessness and how Bi-Han had always hated loose ends, there was no doubt in Kuai Liang's mind that the cryomancer would not shy away from killing Hydro if given the opportunity.

He feels it before he is alerted to a disturbance on their grounds, a familiar sense in the back of his mind, the pull of the Netherrealm on his tattered soul: another of it's residents was on their territory. A ghost, a demon, he could not tell yet, but it was not something he wished his ninjas face on their own - as capable as they are, he is intimately aware of the strength of Netherrealm's denizens.

He commands with his presence, and he is quick to teleport towards the location his scouts had noted, a tower of flame breaking the serene image of his expansive gardens — but the sight had already been tainted.

Hanzo finds the stranger, another wraith much like himself, and his distrust is immediate - especially finding the other standing over a corpse. Had it been one of his own, the answer would have been swift retribution, not a word wasted on the scum that dare attack his clan... instead he finds the other standing over what is clearly a mercenary for the Red Dragon, their surveillance persisting even after they had been ran out of Shirai Ryu territory, not letting go of their grudge against the burden that is Takeda's Takahashi legacy.

And he can understand the confusion, the reason why this lowly mercenary thought to attack a wraith — although he might not don their actual dress, the stranger is dressed in their clan colors.

Hanzo watches the other silently, awaiting a violent reaction, but when it is not immediately sprung he does speak.

"Identify yourself and state your reason for being here." Cold, direct, he is not giving the stranger any space to dodge him or his question. Should he prove to be a threat to the clan, he will be dealt with.
