Re: my previous ask. The terms shounen, shojo etc are actually based off of the magazine's target demographic. Komi-San is published in a shounen magazine so it is a shounen manga even if it's not what we typically picture. Shounen can be any genre like romcom, slice-of-life, horror, battle, etc. As long as the magazine thinks it'll sell to teenage boys they'll publish it.

... I could also be a pedantic asshole and say shounen is more a demographic that a genre but nah, Shounen while varied IS a specific thing so it can count as a genre

THE FIRST APPEARANCE OF KITTY CAT KOMI!

Included with cat like behaviour, that’s new... wait IT WASNT?!?!?! Huh...

This is the only like “animated” scene (panel?) of this segment. And it’s basically Tadano mentally recontextualizing Komi-san’s expressions trought the episode.

Communication 6: THE SCENE

What can I say about the overall scene? I mean... I read the chapter on March 9th 2019... all those years ago? The fact that Tadano made that gesture and that lead into them having a conversation on a chalkboard? It was simple inspiring and awe inducing

Seeing this scene today?

Maybe it’s cause I’m a softie (cause I am)

Maybe it’s for the musical score (it definitely help)

Maybe it’s for the fact that they actually basically do a change in that the music keeps going and we don’t hear Tadano talk at all (which now in hindsight off course he wasn’t talking back then I was just dumb)

Whatever of those “maybes” mean it doesnt matter... what matter is that this scene just made me happily sob and kinda made me fall in love with these two once again... I’m glad I’m watching this and that’s all it should matter

I was gonna rant later... then thought to do it here... but honestly? It doesn’t really matter. Whoever wants to be salty about how this scene was subtittled? They’re free to do so... the important isn’t what is said in there.

It’s that’s a conversation between two friends :)
