Five refugee children from Afghanistan have been attacked by masked assailants near a reception facility in the town of Konitsa in northwestern Greece.
One minor was injured in the attack, which took place during a sports event involving refugee children on Sunday, said the Arsis Association for the Social Support of Youth and Human Rights.
The incident was only brought to light on Tuesday.
The municipality of Konitsa condemned the attack, saying that “all forms of violence aimed at refugees who have experienced the horrors of war in their country are deplorable.”
The municipality has also vowed to take action to identify the perpetrators.
