Dude, you can totally like something and take the piss on it from time to time. What's the point of liking anything when you can't even joke around with it? Fandoms are weird. :I
Apparently, because I reblogged a post making light out of the DCCU (even though I said in my first impressions post that I felt pretty neutral with the trailers), and had the unfortunate timing of reblogging a post of me criticizing how the OP was making light of the MCU in a petty way (and while it isn’t perfect, I can’t for the life of me find a good complaint on the MCU other than “it’s childish!” or “you’re not a ‘real Marvel fan™’ if you like it!” or that it’s “getting too dark!”, which is also dumb), people now think I’m a “hypocrite” because of how the OP was acting, and hiding behind “it’s just a joke!”, when really it’d be just as easy to ignore that comment as would be for someone to ignore the post.
I just don’t like being belitted for liking something which certain unfavorable people find “too mainstream” (like the MCU, Steven Universe, and Frozen), and I also try not to belittle others for liking something, and will only mildly poke fun at the thing itself. I don’t try to be hypocritical, and I don’t want to appear to be.
This whole thing has gotten me feeling like shit all over again.
