Sudan Doctors Network: Four Killed, 12 Injured in Rapid Support Forces Attack on El Obeid Four people were killed and 12 others injured when the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) targeted several areas in El Obeid, North Kordofan State. The RSF targeted the “Dalil” Cemetery during a funeral procession, killing four mourners and injuring seven others. The RSF also targeted a gas station in El Obeid, seriously injuring five people. There are fears that the death toll may rise as attacks on civilian areas and service facilities continue. In a separate incident, a truck driver was killed when his vehicle, which was carrying food supplies, was targeted in the Jebel Kordofan area. This attack violates the sanctity of civilian life and undermines efforts to provide essential goods to the population. The Sudan Doctors Network condemns the RSF’s systematic and repeated attacks on civilian areas in El Obeid, which have continued for more than a week. The Network emphasizes that targeting civilians, service facilities, and food transport constitutes a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law. The Network holds the leadership of the Rapid Support Forces fully responsible for these violations and calls on the international community, as well as human rights and humanitarian organizations, to take urgent action to protect civilians and halt the attacks that threaten the lives of residents and worsen the humanitarian situation in the city.
