Danny: Omg okay so Katie's Dean obviously, Robert's Sam (how obvious writers come ON), Kacee is Benny, Murga is Cas, Rachel can be Bobby!!!, uhhh Wilsonn can be Balthazar, Ana can be Meg?, Mugen can be Kevin Tran, Sara can be Gabriel, Catrina can be Samandriel, Brett could be Crowley, Sarah can be Charlie!!!, Lee could beeeeeeeee Inias?, Rin can be Ruby!!, Meg can be Anna?, Sophomore Rachel could be Abbadon maybe? 

uhhh idk about most of this wow that's kind of tough actually? Once you get past the main characters it kinda loses the parallel I think... w/e

For a show that is suppose to be progressive there sure is still a lot of upper-middle class white folks. Plus the few characters that are POC's and/or from low income families are all shoved into one series and are only guest stars on the others.

Danny: I agree, to be honest. As characters, they may be affected by their environment and tend to hang out with people similar to them, hence the lack of diversity, but I'm more inclined to look at the writers on that one. We've had some damn good poc characters on korokou, but you're right, they've all been shoved into the mold and that's pretty crap. That's one thing that should definitely be worked on, on a production level. 

Maybe we can make a letter campaign about issues we have with the show or something- that'd be cool.

Who is your favorite minor sibling character? can I get an answer from all the mods? (for selfish reasons, I wanna see how many of you there are!)

Mod #1 (Maggie! hi): I know i’m probably alone in this but i’ve gotta say it’s Noelle. Although i think that’s mostly because of how different she is from what we expect on tv these days. She’s a teenage girl in high school who loves makeup and celebrities and yet she’s not stereotyped or ridiculed at all. She’s completely confident in herself and her impact. Plus i LOVE lovelovelove the fact that she’s queer. Like, most kids her age have never even heard of pansexual, but that’s what she is and she never apologizes for it. She’s not shown as pretending or experimenting or “in a phase”. We’ve even seen that she’s educating her friends on queer things, and one of her friends is some sort of asexual now, i think gray-a but i can’t really remember…. Mostly, she’s badass and confident and a completely rounded character even though she’s young and sort of in the background. Not to mention I think her going by noelle instead of haley is what inspired Murga to do the same :)

Mod #2 (Danny): Ahhh, I feel bad, cause I'm not gonna get all deep and analytic about me liking one of the siblings because they're not my favs (sorry!), but my favorite sibling is probably also Noelle because ugh she's just so fantastic. She's so knowledgeable and really good about all kinds of issues that other people her age just aren't good about and ugh I just really appreciate her as a person. 

Mod #3 (Alex!  Hey~): See, I love character potential, and you know who we haven’t had much development on is Kelly.  She seems to have such a strong personality but we haven’t gotten the chance to explore its depths or the reasons why she does what she does.  Which is so weird considering how much time Robert and Katie spend with Kelly at Katie’s house.  You’d think we’d have a little bit of emotional depth shown with Kelly, but the writers have left us in the dark.  I can’t wait to learn more about Kelly in her (hopefully better) cameos in Korogaku.

But let's also be real: Maclain is one of the most kickass characters in general.  He's sweet, funny, blunt in such an endearing way, and I'm not even gonna lie, super cute.  One of my top complaints is that the writers don't give us enough Maclain.  Perhaps a bit on what he's up to at college should be included in Korogaku?  Please?

Mods! How did you get into Korokou? Also what are you guys like?? You all seem really cool :)

Mod #1: Well thanks! My name is maggie and i actually got into Korokou a bit late… One of my friends convinced me to watch the “last” korokou movie… the one after Robert graduated and we were all afraid the series was gonna end. I was actually really disapointed, like how typical that i’d get into a fandom just before it ended, but then they announced the Jyougaku spin-off series and all was well! But yeah, I think that’s what influenced Robert to be my favorite character.. that movie had a lot of them and imo they really shined and from then on they’ve just stuck out to me as the best character i’ve ever seen on screen

Mod #2: Hey guys, I'm Danny. ♥ I'm actually one of those people who saw all the fuss people were making about a character and just jumped on board from their introduction instead of going to the beginning (it was Katie, I sigh). But then I did my duty as a fan and went back to see it from the beginning and wow I was just hooked. I marathoned it, basically.  And by the time I got caught up with Korokou I had episodes in Jyougaku and Korogaku to catch up on and I've been in a spiral of korokou fandom ever since. 

Mod #3:  Hey everyone!  I’m Alex.  I actually jumped on board at the beginning of the TV show when I too was a little freshman in high school.  I dunno, the beginning cast (Murga, Robert, Chris, Steven, etc.) really spoke to me in a way no other show ever had.  And then with the addition of more people to the cast, especially Katie!, which actually improved the show rather than strain it, I was hooked.  I suppose I grew up along with the Korokou cast.  My own little Bildungsroman story.  I’m gonna cry.  XD

I've just been looking through and I'm still trying to figure out who characters are and names and everything; there's just so many. sorry if you've gotten this before, i just knew it would be helpful for me

I'm confused

Is korogaku still a thing now or is it just jyougaku now that Nathan's gonna be in Athens?

Korogaku will still be a thing! We'll checking up on Murga and Mugen and Catrina and everyone else who's not going to be in Athens (including Kacee and Rachel, too). I'm fairly certain they've been renewed for another season, it's just that Katie's left the cast of korogaku and is becoming a regular instead of a guest star on jyougaku.

Oh good. I was afraid it was only gonna be jyougaku and murga doesn't guest star enough on that for me to be satisfied (kacee, either, lbr)

Can we talk about character growth for a minute? 

Because the development we've got recently from Murga and Robert (also Katie, but I'm gonna focus on those two) has been really really awesome as of late. I know there are a lot of fans who don't like certain characters, and that's fine, like who you like, but Murga has had some of the best character development over the course of this show than I've seen in any other show I've watched, ever. 

Murga's discovered changes in themself that have to do with gender, sexuality, what type of religion they prefer, pronouns, they chose to use a different name, all kinds of important things about themself that have changed and their opinions about them have changed and that's awesome. Every character has their faults, but I think Murga's strength of character makes them one of the best we've seen from this show. To be honest, they're one of my role models in trying to be true to who I am. And I'm actually really happy with the developments as of late because they've gotten some hard core character development in the form of self-empowerment and bless everything that is or was I'm so glad they stepped up for themself and I'm really just proud. 

Robert's done much the same, and they've also just been such an influence on their friends that they're someone who I admire for their loyalty and faith. They're fierce in their affections, and that's something I definitely respect. Robert's someone you can count on, someone who's going to be honest with you and tell you what is best for you and your health, and they've only gotten better at respecting boundaries, pronouns, and most opinions of their friends. Plus, their gender things remind me of myself, so I empathize with them a lot. They're really someone I can look up to.

Katie's been through some sexuality stuff recently that's made me nod my head at korokou's ability to understand that these things change, and the way all of our characters have gone through these different stages in their lives makes me remember why I watch this show and why I love these characters.

Woah okay, who's surprised at the random drama surge that Korokou's been bringing to town recently? Like, first the sinking of a ship thought to be endgame (ngl, I was surprised), then a freaking character death are we for real (rip Hunter u were the best)
