You are the most prominent Native person on my dash, and we’ve talked before about what tribe you’re from and how I’m familiar because I live in NY, etc. I’ve thought about telling you this before, offhandedly.  I’m a fan of WWE (obvs, if you’ve ever seen my blog) and one of the current veteran female superstars is a Native from the Powhatan tribe - her name is Mickie James

Well, I wanted to tell you that - aside from being very accomplished in the wrestling ring - she was just inducted into the NAMA Hall of Fame! Like, that’s really cool and that’s representation that you don’t get to see and I wanted you to see it.

Additionally, I’m a little mad that she got this award at a ceremony held like right by where I live.  Mickie James was like 45 minutes away and I didn’t know about it.  I woulda dragged my bestie and seen if we could go meet her - he idolizes her and it would have made his life.

Life With KorraCat

So we got to bed a bit later than usual last night. Normally we lie down, talk a bit, then I slip on my CPAP mask, we say good night...and then Korra snuggles up between us, kneads on Red’s hair for a while, turns around and gives me good-night kisses, then settles down on my feet (she’s an incredible foot warmer).

So we’re talking, and all of a sudden we hear Korra “talking” to us in an almost-scolding tone. And then she sits down very deliberately next to my CPAP mask and stares intently at me. “We’re getting told,” Red said.

So...I put on my mask, we said good night, and Korra did her nighttime ritual. All was well with the world again. :)
