can I just say that, when I first started actually looking into the arcana fandom it was so disheartening that like... it's all so heterosexual??? when you go on ao3 and filter out m/f it more than halves the amount of fic you get. like do whatever you want of course but it's so overwhelmingly straight. where are my gays at. I'm drowning in female apprentice content and just trying to get my gay male apprentice fanfic/fanart out there as much as possible out of raw spite hKSHDFJG
Yes! More male, trans, and nb apprentices! The characters are not straight, they’re pansexual (at least that’s what I think). That’s why when I write my hcs I try to stay as gn as possible so everyone feels included and can enjoy reading about their fav LIs
Most of the popular apprentices are female, pretty/pleasing to look at, petite and thin. There is little to no variety, and the apprentices that aren’t from that same “perfect” mold hardly get the recognition they deserve, it really is disheartening especially because I know a few guys who’ve stepped away from the fandom because of this
