And then, to top it all off, I was absolutely honoured with a chance to see (and photograph) a kōtuku. In Māori myth and folklore, the kōtuku (white heron) is a symbol of prestige, purity, and uniqueness, and it is considered a very good omen to see one. They are quite uncommon, and absolutely exquisite.

Peace! After this unwanted raruraru and shit of the past few days. I've felt like I couldn't get rid of this shit through just one way. I was blessed to have had a mirimiri by Kuia. A tangi for my protective brother James who died at 17 years old nearly 16 years ago. I went to the Bush today to cleanse I the river. I was lead in to the Bush instead and what a visit I had. Two Piwaiwaka kept following me, a big one and a smaller one. And my highlight was the ...Tui... reminds me of my brother Patuone who also died at the age of 17. This tui was so nosey and kept within a Metre of me. At the water. I had to do as I was told and become fully naked. Feeling one with the whenua, I covered my whole body in this beautiful and not so warm flowing waters. Asking them to take this shit off me and to continue to help me through this dark cloud. This darkness only surfaces if our children are in danger. Under the cold water I go. I could sense a man, his face of a native American? Younger than me. I felt the shit been released of me xo Even though I had gone 2kmz away from the Bush. You wouldn't believe what flew past fast. When I was covered?
