Tale As Old As Time || kowareta-ao
A wicked enchantress and her spell cast upon him until he learns to love and be loved in return.
That is the beginning of a bitter tale that said prince is forced to live.
He never considered himself arrogant, more so distrustful of the world and all who inhabit it. He had no immediate family, they had passed away some time ago from a terrible sickness and he grieved for days, sure that was the moment his heart had hardened to the later conditions they were when he turned away a woman who appeared at his door.
She sent a curse upon him then, words decorated in a sinister saccharine as she left and he began to change little by little.
And here he is now. A monster. A creature that can no longer step into the outside world for those who witness him would no doubt treat him with cruelty and perhaps even end his wretched life. Over time, part of him began to wish for such a fate, growing older and larger by the years that pass with only the cursed servants and the wilting rose to keep him company. He is to learn affections by the time the final rose petal fell on his thirtieth birthday.
That is, until an elder woman showed herself to his home and he was quick to assume, gentle but still very much firm in imprisoning her for trespassing despite his servants imploring he think over what he is doing now. He did not consider their words, shutting the door behind the elder woman and turning away to his room with a growl for all to back away.
He hadn’t the slightest clue what effect his actions would eventually ensue.
