This is probably the most intriguing thing I did all day. I am going to credit the user ImpyButt whom I follow for making me realize how plastic Jerico's hair generally looks on the top. I was already planning to do some design edits for him simply because I was wanting to change some small details up or had already noticed they were changing as I drew him more.
So first image:
The markings are, you guessed it, from his were form. We'll call this a partial shift that Ascended are capable of. Generally, it also does entail claws and could even include tail and ears but they aren't going to showing soul fire. Markings in a partial shift are also optional. As mentioned I also did try and soften up the look of his hair, this is only a bust so don't mind his hair looking short, the length is not changing. He'd claw his own throat out before he cut his hair. Another detail is, of course, that scar. Knowing he's a werepanther certainly does help to understand why it's there but why so small? Well, Jerico was actually only 3 when he was bitten by another boy in his foster home, the boy was 5 thus the smaller sized bite. I've also been playing around with pupil shape. In a shift, they will be feline-like but also much like a cat Jerico's pupils have a much greater range to expand and in extreme light, they can be pinpoint and even slit-like. It tends to vary on emotion for this. I did edit hair color a bit as well. The final detail that I've seen actually changing is skin tone actually, and there is a good reason for this. Jerico's father, despite not knowing the man, is Mexican-American and the brother of my lycan character Joseph Hernandez. His mother is a woman of European descent. I realized pretty quickly he was probably just too pale originally as I didn't give it any consideration until after the fact. My fault, so slowly his skin tone has become darker until I felt happy with it.
Second Image: This was more of something to throw in there for comparison on changes but as I look at it I realized I've actually grown as an artist quite a lot even since May. It also made me look back at when and why Jerico was created. Originally he was created for a friend I used to RP with I had a falling out with. I won't go into details but Jerico was the last character I created with her and he has come so far as a character since I removed a toxic person from my life. As he's grown I have. I have a lot of characters like this, who have come to life during times of adversity and transcended that as I healed and grew and changed. I really have come to love Jerico and though I don't draw Kassian and Sloane near as much I love them just as dearly. For some reason, Jerico just has all my art muse.
