Being a Son isn’t always easy. The club always came first. Before anything or anyone else, Kozik knew that the club took priority. For the most part, he was ok with life being this way. Then again, there were times he wanted to do nothing more than raise his middle finger to the club and go off on his own. This weekend was more of the latter. He had been pulled between Tacoma and Charming one too many times for his liking and he was just tired.
Kozik tossed the duffel bag onto the passenger seat of the car and off he took on a quick getaway. IT wasn’t like he was going far from Tacoma. He wanted to be close enough that he could rush back if he was really needed but far enough that no one could really bother him. An hour of driving later and Kozik was finally pulling into the hotel. Seattle wasn’t far but it felt like a whole different world. In Tacoma, he was just Kozik. A member of the Sons of Anarchy. Sergeant in Arms. An enforcer for the club.
Here, he was just Herman. He could be whoever he wanted to be. Hell, he could be one of those annoying tourists if he really wanted to. There was no one telling him how to act. No club forcing him to constantly be on guard and watch how he appeared to others.
Making his way to his home away from home from the weekend, Herman stopped in front of the wall of brochures and browsed all the things he could do. It was only 2 days he’d be in town, but he was determined to make it as fun and relaxing as possible. There was always something to do in Seattle and no one would judge him for whatever he decided to do in his free time.
Yeah, being a Son isn’t easy. But for two whole days, he wasn’t a Son. He was just Herman.
