i think a lot about how mikesh and kozliek probably end up killed by most people, but they do show up several times later in the game if you manage to deceive them and let them live...when i realized who they were after i ran into them later, i was like "WHAT"
and you can talk to them and get to know them and even involve them in some quests...it was really just another thing in kcd2 that made me go "wow...the things I do REALLY do matter..."
