Thinking about Reincarnated Jinu being forced to take a physical for the first time and being ridiculously suspicious of them "needing his blood for tests"
"My blood? My blood for tests? What tests? What are you testing my blood for?"
Rumi laughs awkwardly as the nurse grows confused, "Haha, Jinu has never had a physical before. His parents were crazy anti-medicine."
The nurse smiles. "Ah, I assure you, it is entirely safe and you have my word that your results are entirely confidential."
"Other people want my blood!? Who? And for what?"
"No one wants your blood, Jinu."
"She does!" He points a finger at the nurse, "You're gonna use my blood in some ritual, aren't you! She wants to take my soul, Rumi! She wants to take it just as I got it back!"
"Oh, uh, no! We just need to see if there are any deficiencies."
Jinu is imidiately offended, "Deficiencies?" He scoffs, "My blood is perfectly fine. It's sooo... red and- and... alive! I even bet it's more red than your blood."
I saw a compilation of tumblr posts about KPOP Demon Hunters, and there was one attributed to @eggsaladstain that said the movie has 90's Saturday morning cartoon energy in the best way, and I couldn't stop thinking of that.
So, because I couldn't stop thinking of that, have a list of 90's Saturday morning cartoon-style episodes of a KPOP Demon Hunters show.
(please note, all of these will include Huntr/x kicking ass, singing catchy songs, and kicking demon ass alongside their problem-of-the-week plots)
(if these sound cheesy, my advice is to watch some 90's Saturday morning cartoons; I assure you, these all check out).
-- Romance has a genius idea for bringing down Huntr/x: humiliate them in front of all their fans. And he has the perfect way to do it: 🎶Play Games with Us!🎶 Cue an episode where an enthusiastic Zoey, way-too-competitive Mira, and absolutely freaking out Rumi ("I'll look ridiculous!" "You're okay looking ridiculous in front of us." "That's different!") participate in 'fun' games that increasingly feel like attempts on their lives.
-- Mystery, through vague demon magic, turns the girls into cats (yes, Zoey's the cutest, yes Mira's acting like she's in Warrior Cats, yes they all still kick ass). Shenanigans, including dog!Mystery trying to do them in. Derpy and Sussie tag along on the A-plot but don't say a word ("Aw, I thought we'd be able to talk to them like this") until they're just about to turn back. (Mira: you could have talked this entire time?!? Why didn't you??? Sussie: It was more fun gaslighting you).
-- Family Drama Episode: Mira gets an 'obligatory' invitation to her brother's med school graduation ("It means they think they're asses if they don't send me one") and is stuck on whether or not to RSVP. She does because Second Chances, takes her girls as her plus-twos ("Someone says otherwise I fight them"), her family's one big mess of jerks, and we all learn a valuable lesson about found family and cutting out toxic relatives. B-plot is the remaining Saja Boys realizing none of them can write music and holding auditions for their new Jinu; the most important part of the auditions is showing how well they can take out Huntr/x.
-- More Family Drama: Celine's trying to extend an olive branch and Rumi's stuck on how to handle it since she both does and doesn't want her back in her life. Meanwhile, Baby plans an elaborate scheme to expose Rumi's rift with former Sunlight Sister on live television to ruin her, cause her shame, and turn her susceptible to Gwi-Ma's influence.
-- Beach episode. That's it. Must include shirtless Abby, demon sharks, and Derpy becoming obsessed with beach balls.
-- I know I've seen this in fics, but Rumi dealing with online haters for her appearance. The girls are convinced it's demons, but it's actually not (Zoey: Not gonna lie, but I kind of wish it was. That way we could give them what they deserve!) (don't worry, Saja Boys are still causing lethal mischief).
-- Rumi falls sick with some mysterious demon illness and Mira and Zoey need to go find a cure or something. Ties in with the More Family Drama: Celine Edition episode since they need someone to stay with Rumi while they Quest and not die from Saja Boys schemes.
-- World Tour Episode: Huntr/x is in California and it's time for us to see Zoey's unhealthy family dynamics! She instantly falls back into her people-pleasing ways and Rumi and Mira are determined to do something about it.
-- Huntr/x finds themselves at a music showcase where a new boy band (Saja Boys take 2) performs a diss track about them. They then proceed to juggle their showcase obligations with demon slaying (they'd ditch the showcase, but a reality show's being filmed and there are cameras everywhere).
-- A whole episode devoted to Derpy and Sussie.
-- Special two-parter: Huntr/x 'how we met and became Huntr/x' story.
-- Other special two-parter: girls find themselves trapped in the demon realm sans their weapons ('cause, you know, no Hunmoon).
-- Jinu is a part of this show; he lives in Rumi's sword and offers dry commentary throughout battles and stuff, as well as more touching, emotional moments with Rumi.
