30th Year: American Craft Show Returns to Atlanta
For eleven of its 30 consecutive years in Atlanta, we’ve been handling PR, local marketing and community building for the American Craft Show in Atlanta. We hope you’ve seen the press and marketing that’s out there and consider visiting the Show next weekend and will follow along on @KPKinteractive and @CraftCouncil Instagrams and Facebooks to keep up. It was fun coming up with 30 reasons we think Atlantans ought to visit and spread the word on this 30th year of a beloved Show – check out our first five below, or on our instagram!
More than 230 of the finest working craft artisans from across the US are reason enough to attend, and we’re pleased to have a great assortment of Atlanta vendors and craft organizations providing tastings/sales, demos and hands-on interactive fun in the “Let’s Make Inspiration Stations.” One of our personal favorites coming on Saturday is Just Bakery – a bakery founded to create jobs for Atlanta refugees, which offers some of the most unique cookies, cakes, and breads you’ve ever tasted.
Let us know what you think of the new Welcome Area and be sure to give plenty of love to the emerging artists in the Hip Pop corrugated cardboard group booths. Also, this year, three participating colleges with craft programs are participating and the students manning the booths are eager to share their work and process with you. We’re proud UGA is among them!
Tune in to CBS Atlanta Plugged In Saturday March 9 and March 16 to see artist Judy Robkin and Karin being interviewed about the Show, and also check out WSB-TV’s People2People segments on March 9 and 10th, featuring wood artist Kipley Meyer and Marietta wood artist Doug Pisik on City Lights with Lois Reitzes March 13th.
Be sure to say hi to our team: Leigh Coulter Beal, Rachel Peavy, Madelyn Turner and Karin during the Show and check out our press board inside the Show that reflects the hard work and passion we have for helping these fine artists have a great Show!
A Few Slots Left for Podcast & Video Channel Writing Class
Ready to go from Analog to Digital with your written content, for yourself or your clients? Karin is excited to co-teach this class with fellow publicist and digital content expert, and host of the Literary Atlanta Podcast, Alison Law. We plan to teach attendees how to:

Set up and manage an audio podcast
Equip yourself to record, edit, and publish your audio and video online
Research and prepare for interviews and
Market and promote themselves and gain more followers and subscribers.
Decatur Writers’ Studio offers the class Saturday, March 16th from 10 a.m. to 4 PM, with catered lunch served. Register here and please spread the word!
And Speaking of Podcasts
Here’s a shout to some of our favorites: Literary Atlanta podcast, Heroine, NPR’s the Pulse and GPB’s The Bitter Southerner Podcast (nice hosting, Chuck Reece.)
On the Video Side
We’re doing a deep dive into how people who’ve tried every way they can to lose weight may benefit and prepare for surgical weight loss, as well as choose from different options. It’s been good to interact with committed surgeons, and cooperative patients from ages 25 to 40 as we create a set of informational videos. Stay tuned for more on that when the videos are online.
